Haven't been here since they were forced to change the theme of the place. I used to like the platform 9 and 3/4 plus other copyrighted Harry Potter themes. Shortly after opening weekend we came a second time and saw the menu items and themes were changed. My guess is that JK Rowlings legal team sent a cease and desist letter to the owner. Well, I came here because the kiddos are OBSESSED with Harry Potter. There was some Potter flair around but none that really grabbed me. The kids were pretty underwhelmed and the menu didn't really offer butter beer the youngest had to ask and was turned off when they said they could make it for her. (From some meme she found online) I did get the everything avocado toast. It was good but it was pretty large and the bread was thick that I just ended up eating the top of it and leaving the bread. The prices are pretty steep and I can't say I would be back unfortunately. But it might work for you.... read more

Came for the butter brew and it did not disappoint! I got it on ice and with no coffee. Would get it again and try it with coffee next time. It doesn't not taste like butter beer from universal studios at all but still good. It had a little too much cocoa powder on top and it kept making me cough but added a good flavor if it was a lighter dusting. Warm reception upon walking in. Spoke to the barista regarding coffee and was able to make child friendly versions of butter brew. She even split the serving for my two little girls into two small cups. A friend from Germany is visiting and due to translation difficulties asked if she could speak slowly for her and she accommodated her request. We asked for our pastries to be cut so we could share amongst us. We were in shock as to how delicious the raspberry and lemon muffins were as we are not fans of "lemon anything dessert", and this won us over. The lattes were so good that my guest even complimented the taste and quality of all items, (keep in mind she always compares American vs European flavors.) The establishment itself is warm and inviting, kid and family friendly, flat benches, booth style seating, cushioned single seats, chairs, and stools. Good for dates, catching up, studying, working, and for one on one or small group meetings. If you are ever in this area, do yourself a favor and stop on by for a treat. I needed a place to get some work done and the Harry Potter thing basically convinced me. Here was my experience on a Thursday afternoon. AMBIANCE: Parking: It's a popping plaza but you shouldn't have issues. Seating: Paired seating or small group seating with space for about 40-50 people. Feels: The plaza itself is busy with other shops and everyday errand business places. The coffesshop itself takes you to another world. You're in a Harry Potter themed shop and it does it justice as it's decordated from top to bottom with good photo op spots. I entered the semi-lit space with pleasant warm Christmas music and comfy scents of coffee. Though it may be a tourist spot you can still get work done. FOOD: Butterbeer (Recommend) Butter and caramel served fresh and warm. I enjoyed the sweetness to it as it satisfied my caffeine needs. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Excellent. I'm not a big Harry Potter fan, but I'll never say no to a coffee shop with a nice interior and good drinks. It's clear that they're dedicated to capturing the likeliness of the Harry Potter universe without seeming too gimmicky. Even customers like me who aren't Potterheads can still appreciate the atmosphere and all the cool items decorating the store. They have a lot of great specialty drinks that I'm looking forward to trying. If you don't know where to start, the staff is super friendly and have plenty of great recommendations. Best walk in gem! We were around the area for an appointment and have to wait, so glad we found this cafe for some good sit-down time. Oh phooey, lost my draft. Oh well. Bad Owl Coffee is a coffee place that has been so successful that they've expanded to the Southwest. However, I've only been to their original location on Eastern Ave in Henderson near the corner of Horizon Ridge Pkwy, and it took me two visits before deciding to review it. Originally, they were known as the place that paid homage to Harry Potter. They still have some vague references including "Platform 9 6/8" and the "Avado Ricotta" on their new avocado toast menu, but I'm sure they probably got a cease-and-desist letter at some point. That said, they're still a good place to visit for coffee and offer several different preparations. I first experienced Bad Owl last year when I tried their cookie butter latte ($4.90 small / $5.40 large). I still remember that the latte came out hot and that there was cookie butter flavor and sweetness. It was delicious. However, I wouldn't order it again simply because the cookie butter pooled at the bottom of the cup, making it difficult to enjoy the flavor evenly. I suppose if you enjoy dilute cookie butter to start, ramping up to intense cookie butter and finally ending up as clumped cookie butter, then you won't mind it. Today, I came back to meet up with a friend. She recommended that I try the Kyoto cold brew coffee ($5.30 small, $5.90 large). If you look to the right of the register, you'll see a towering apparatus with ice-cold water at the top and coffee at the bottom. This is what they use to make this style of cold brew, and the result is fabulous. There isn't any acidity in the Kyoto cold brew. It starts off with the typical somewhat grassy/pungent coffee flavor that turns me off from enjoying anything from Stumptown, but it gives way to a complex, roasted, low-if-any bitterness drink that even has tea-like notes toward the end. I loved every sip of it, and I also got pretty wired from the caffeine. This is the best cold brew coffee which I've tasted yet. I'll definitely have to stop by Bad Owl if I want a delicious cold brew coffee, and perhaps I'll eventually look into their other lattes, food menu, or $2 off beer (bottled, not on draft) and wine daily from 4-7pm. read more

I love the vibe of this place. Whenever in Vegas, my siblings and I stop here at least once. Creative coffee concoctions and tasty bakery treats. They also offer breakfast, though I haven't tried that yet. Some of the drinks are overly sweet, but you can adjust the sweetness to your liking. This is the other Bad Owl Coffee I went to. Just as amazing. The service was even better here. I just got coffee with a buddy of mine. We had to get together for some work related stuff. As we needed wireless connection, the WiFi was a little slower than I had hoped for, nevertheless the overall Team made up for it. I gave a 2 because I liked the coffee but the MAN THAT HELPED ME WAS RUDE and felt the need to say he doesnt smile, he just gives no look. well no look surely looks like you don't want to serve me. and I asked him nicely for everything I ordered. no harshness at all. Accio Coffee! This place is one the places in the world that has a Harry Potter theme. This is my second time here and I remember enjoying what i ordered last time. This time my sis and I got the Mint Mojito and the Nitrogen Brew. The Mint Mojito is an attempt to make something similar to Philz Mint Mojito that I am accustomed to. It didn't really hit the mark because it was not cold enough, not minty enough, and not coffee-y enough. It was decent but probably not something I'd order again. The Nitrogen Brew is a cold brew that is supposed to have a smoother taste but to me, it had a harsher taste that I have had with other cold brews. It doesn't come with ice but it was cool when I received it. I'd suggest adding in a couple of ice cubes. So the drinks this time weren't great but the theme makes up for it. The decor is super cool with brooms and other HP-themed memorabilia. There are several small tables and a larger bar table so definitely a good place to get work done if you don't mind the somewhat dark mood lighting. Overall, I'd still recommend it but ask them to make what they are known for. BTW, they also have craft beers available. read more

This place is busy! And rightfully so! In a shopping center that shares a Starbucks, Bad Owl holds its own. I tend to only go to small coffee shops and I thoroughly enjoyed this shop. I had an avocado toast which was very tasty, kinda overpriced, but still good. There are so many things on the menu that I still wanna try, with waffles and other toasts galore! And their coffee is delicious. I forgot to mention one big thing, there is Harry Potter everything here! So all you Potter fans, this is heaven! And there are a bunch of Harry Potter themed lattes that I haven't tried because they sound too sweet, but very creative. If you are in the area, make a point to stop here for a cup! read more

As a mild Harry Potter fan I found this place enjoyable. I enjoyed the subtle references but liked how it wasn't over the top. They also have a LOT of coffee drinks so there's definitely lots to choose from. I actually really enjoyed their nitro with sea salt cream. This place isn't cheap, but the service is top notch. When I ordered a drink and didn't like it, they let me switch it out for another one for no problem. The staff is really friendly and the service is really quick. 4-stars despite the exorbitant amount of time it took for their *Charmingly Pesto* sandwich to come out. The time it took was nearing 30 minutes, so I opted to have it as take out instead. The very busy worker was great about changing this up for me. I enjoyed it later at the airport (somehow made it), and it was charmingly good indeed. I had also ordered the *Lavender Latte*. Mild on the lavender, but creamy and enjoyable. It was busy so the latte art was rushed, but that's no biggie. You could say that this shop is a tourist trap since it is Harry Potter themed and very grabby for those just coming from the airport or on their way there (like me). They don't seem to have their Butterbrew latte anymore or at least they didn't when I popped in. In fact, the only Harry Potter themed coffee product was their 'Flight of the Hippoglyph' which was like a flight of 3-4 espresso shots, so nope. It should be noted that their 'Kyoto' cold brew was very recommended. It's brewed for 16 hours and supposedly very strong. I'd say check it out, but make sure you have a lot of time on your hands. read more

Which means you know it's excellent! I really like the flight of the hippogryph. So delicious and it will get you jazzed up. The coconut flavor is my favorite! The espresso shot came with a little dark Hershey Kiss and a cup of sparkling water. They make the best cappuccinos as well! They serve food, macaroons and some pastries. The workers are so friendly and helpful. The place is clean and has plenty of room to come sit and relax or chat. There are some long tables if you cone with a group. This was our third coffee shop on our Vegas trip, and it is really great! It is a small shop located in a strip mall. When you walk in, it has a really fun HP theme. Some seating around the sides of the store where you can enjoy your coffee and listen to kicks. They do have a very small assortment of pastries which were good (we had a croissant and muffin). I ordered my usual latte and it was very tasty! The milk was textured very well with a great temperature. The drink was smooth and had a nice flavor. She was able to draw some good latte art which was a good sign Overall, a very cool place to check out and get some high quality coffee off the strip. Highly recommended! read more

First Time To reward myself after a hard workout at Orange Theory Fitness (just 1/4 mile or so down the street) I stopped by for a nice coffee & sweet treat to undo what I just did *burned 600 calories. Okay, so the inside is cute. Harry Potter themed and tastefully done. It's fun yet tastefully themed so you don't feel as though you are on a Universal Studios theme park ride. They don't serve brewed coffee, so the barista/cashier :) offered to make me an Americano. I ordered an Americano & 1-Salted Caramel Macron & 1-Lemon Macron. Everything was of good quality and tasted great. I would love to ruin my workout even more the next time I come back for a nice breakfast. What attracted me to this place first was the name and logo. I love all things owl! After doing some light research I see that's it's a Harry Potter themed place. Being a "light" Potter fan myself, I've become even more intrigued. I check out the menu, hmm.... interesting... I must say it was a great idea to come in. It's decorated nicely. Like a dark comfy cafe. The theme is subtle enough that you may not even notice if you're not in the know. The coffee was great. Probably the best lavender latte I've had as of late. I ALWAYS order a lavender latte if it's on the menu. The everything avocado toast was great as well. It was beautiful and tasty. Rich but served with a lime to cut that richness. Toast, toasted perfectly. The service was good. Accommodating and friendly. The food came out a little slow but everyone in front of me ordered food so... I think the name would've been better as "The Dusty Owl". I really wanted to like this place but it was just so-so. Was greeted promptly when we walked in. The girl at the counter seemed like she may have been new. She was friendly but did not act like she knew much about the items on the menu. We looked at the menu for several minutes and we were not offered any help or suggestions which would've been a nice touch. We saw on social media that this was a Harry Potter themed cafe. Which, I guess due to copyright infringement it would be hard to have anything actual Harry Potter in the shop however I was unimpressed by the 1 owl they had sitting on a bookshelf along with throwing up some brooms on the wall. The dirty butter beer latte was pretty fantastic but I would suggest getting it half sweet as it was pretty sweet. I was a little bummed to see that the attention to detail was lacking. This is definitely not an instagramable environment. The lighting is very scarce and dark and they do not even have a logo on their cups which would help market their business. The table we were sitting next to was so dusty that I almost grabbed a napkin to dust it myself. The avocado toast we received was pretty good but could've used a bit longer in the toaster. It was more like avocado bread. I will give them points for telling us "thank you" when we walked out but all-in-all I would say this place is just okay and way too much competition around for me to come back any time soon. read more
