This is our second time at Bada Sushi. We literally drove 900 miles to eat here. My pops in law likes to eat here for his birthday dinner. For a large group it's a good idea to call ahead and reserve ahead. Our group already chose the set menu A. The kids ordered a bunch of rolls and don kat su dishes. It's a mom and pop operation and when you come here and order the set menu, plan on being here for at least 1 1/2 to 2 hours. You probably need all that time to be able to take in the gargantuan amount of food. It will take too much time to go over all the items that they serve for the set menu. I posted it so you can go over it yourself. I eat pretty much anything so a place like this isn't too much of a surprise but people that come here having only experienced Japanese style restaurants will be surprised. Some of the favorites of the set menu was the o deng guk, oysters (gigantic), sashimi, and the soup at the end. I wasn't so much the fan of any of the fried items. Prices are so friendly and although the set course prices may seem high THERE IS SO MUCH FOOD!!! Ban Chan/ side dishes were authentic and different from your typical Korean restaurant- all seafood focused and all delicious. So many courses in the set course- banchan, salad, sashimi, handroll, and soondubu at the very end. I hid it for as long as I could but I guess I can't hide it any longer. This place is a gem. Sushi/sashimi that's Korean style. If you come here, you must get the course menu. I really mean that it is a MUST. For America, I think they do a really good job of doing this Korean style sashimi course menu. I don't want to compare it to what I've had in Korea because it wouldn't really come close, but for America, this is great! They give salad, side dishes, rolls, sashimi, soups,...it's just endless. I will say I miss the course menu items they had when they first started with the fresh vegetables, oysters, etc., but they continue to serve a great menu regardless of the changes. The price is great for what you get. The quality to quantity loved it. I would choose this place over ayce sushi for a good seafood/sushi craving. Service, however, was really slow. They also have (limited) wines and sakes and other drinks. A very satisfying meal and far afield of your typical xeroxed Korean restaurant. This is only for delivery for their maki. We haven't tried everything on the menu. They are consistent with delicious fish. They're also quick getting it ready for delivery, which hasn't been the case with other sushi restaurants. The ingredient combinations are yummy too. Not all maki are the same size. Some rolls on the menu are a mouthful while other rolls are smaller bites. Just an FYI so you'll know how much to order. My family loves Bada and we order from them every week! Came on a weekday and had an amazing time! For a party of 3 we ordered course B and the food was near unlimited! Each dish was delicious and the hwe(Korean style sashimi) was one of the best in town! There were certain fish that we haven't seen set served as hwe outside of Korea and all of them were delicious Like any Korean restaurant that is catering to a Korean crowd, don't expect a super, bubbly, catering to you wait-staff. It is a bit of a culture difference thing. Although, we had a great experience with the service. The waitstaff wasn't intrusive to our conversation, were very attentive, and continuously replenishing the different dishes that came from the from the course meal. Went to Bada last night with my wife, and my parents who were visiting for the weekend. We were looking for a Korean-style sushi restaurant (limited options in Chicago) and happened to drop in on the first day of this spot's launch and change from the old Sushi21. We were not disappointed! We elected for the $35 seafood course, and the quality of the wide range of sushi was high - the fluke, salmon, sweet shrimp, oysters, uni, live sea cucumber, and abalone all tasted clean and fresh. Since it was the first day of their newly branded concept, the owners gave us several extra dishes of delicious seafood, as well as hand rolls and maki. We were also given an extra bottle of soju to boot! Service was great - attentive and generous. Value for the money was great, and we were only left wondering why the restaurant wasn't packed on a Saturday. The only thing I would recommend is for the menu to be more descriptive of the types seafood patrons can expect from the course options. If the level of quality, service, and value are maintained going forward, I could easily see this place quickly becoming very popular. This is the first time I've eaten at a Korean run sushi restaurant, and actually been reminded of our experiences in Busan - something pretty hard to come by unless you're in LA or NYC here in the US. My mother-in-law took us here and told us it was really good. I'm sure it would've been. I have no idea what was going on this day but our waitress (also owner) must have been having an off day. We ordered one of the fixed meals and we were excited because of all the things we were going to get. We'll... we ended up walking out after almost an hour of not getting anything.
