Mesaku is one of the better places to eat in Lincolnwood. Has a pretty okay variety of rolls to choose among. The prices are very good even for basic rolls. Came in at lunch. It's a nicer looking place than expected from the outside. This isn't a place to judge by the looks though. It's about $3 a roll. The rolls are kind of small. Basic looking. The however are a great value. Got the Avocado Roll and the Vegetable Roll. There's a pretty good amount of choices for vegetarians. Avocados were fresh. The other roll was filled with asparagus, avocados, carrots, and cucumbers and was a more filling one for lunch. For sure it's not quite the best place around here to get sushi but it's not that bad. 2nd eating here time and I'm still impressed with the quality of food and service! The business owner is personable, sweet, and genuine. I love that she knew my name during pick up before I even told her, she waited until pick up time to dress the sushi rolls with unagi sauce so the sushi pieces didn't get soggy, and she drew smiley faces on the takeout boxes. The sushi is pretty good too. They are smaller pieces, but each roll comes with 8 instead of 6 pieces. I think it evens out though. The rice is minimal and the ingredients are fresh. The only thing I think is missing is some more vinegar in the rice. Overall, I recommend Mesaku because of the price, the quality of the food for the price, and the customer service. read more

I just realized I have yet to write a review for Mesaku. I have been eating here for several years now. This is one of my favorite affordable sushi spots. Similar model to Sushi to Go in Palatine, this is a to go only sushi spot. They do have 1 table, but I have never seen anyone sit at it other than waiting for their to go order. The lady that runs the restaurant is very nice and polite. She will give you a time to expect your food when you call, and then she will text you when the sushi is ready. She typically has the sushi ready before her quoted time. One thing they do really well here where many places fall short is they adequately season the sushi rice. Makes a huge difference on flavor. Fish quality is pretty good, and maki selection taste is good as well. Also a great place to order affordable party trays from. Great place all around! read more

We walked in and the woman was very nice and asked, "We have a lot of mobile orders so it will take like 25 mins for you to get food, is that okay?" We said yes and I was so grateful that she was honest with us because if my food took that long and she didn't, I would have been mad. We dined in, and she gave us a pitcher of cucumber water and then we ordered our food. I ordered edamame, AKA Dragon Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll, and the Spicy Salmon Roll and they were all fresh and delicious. The pricing is also super cheap for the quality. The rolls were packed with flavor and ingredients, unlike other cheaper places who give you more rice than anything. The AKA Dragon Roll had some type of amazing red sweet sauce on top of it, and it had me craving thr roll more and more. My friend ordered the exact same thing I did, plus miso soup that she scarfed down because it was so fresh and good. My friend was here before, and this is why she decided to come again today because she said it was amazing for the price, and she was so right. With all of the food I got, my total came to about $18, which is crazy to me because most places are at least $12 for specialty rolls. One thing I realized, though, is that many more expensive places do have larger specialty rolls, so maybe that's why this place is cheaper, but honestly, the quality is just as good here. My edamame was only $0.99, my AKA Dragon Roll was only $7.99, and the other two rolls were $3.99 each... not bad whatsoever. Great prices and amazing service. Came here on Saturday for dine-in lunch. We order the chirashi donburi plus 3 different rolls. The total came out to about $36 before tip and it included miso soups to start and attentive service throughout. Parking outside was easy and cars as often coming and going. We were the only ones in the restaurant around 11:30AM, but they were getting a lot of phone orders. I was finally able to come back and it still tastes amazing! It is takeout right now. You get greeted with a hello and I felt welcomed. We first encountered Mesaku during the early months of COVID and I was very impressed with the freshness of their sushi. We've ordered here about three times now and each time we are always satisfied with the quality and flavor of their rolls. My two absolute favorite are the salmon genki (good spicy) and fla-mango roll! We've only ordered their signature maki rolls offered at a really great price point. The signature rolls are all under $10 and great quality. When it comes to food and quality Mesaku really rates five stars but for me I had to take down a star due to really long wait times. There were a couple occasions where the owner would give us a wait time for an order of two hours minimum. If this wasn't the case, I probably would have ordered more than 3x and become a regular by now. Mesaku is worth the try but beware of possible long wait times for takeout. read more

Mesaku Sushi is located in the little strip mall next to New York Bagel & Bialy Corporation in Lincolnwood. How the heck did I miss this place for 10 months? Decent food at affordable price. I ordered 2 rolls, 1 hamachi roll & 1 spicy tuna roll. I also got 4 pieces of sushi, 2 pieces of hamachi & 2 pieces of unagi. The prices are very inexpensive, I mean a piece of hamachi for $1.50 and a piece of unagi for the same $1.50 almost unheard of in the sushi world. Granted the pieces were a bit on the thin side, but for $1.50 what do you expect? Unfortunately I felt the quality was lacking. If you were to get a piece of hamachi at Tensuke it would literally melt in your mouth with the smooth almost buttery texture. Small clean restaurant with a friendly owner. While the prices were reasonable by comparison to other sushi restaurants I didn't feel that the quality of the sushi was as good as some of the other places, but still worth checking out. read more

Stopped by here after my son's graduation commencement at NU. This is the only sushi place opens on Saturday afternoon after 2 pm. We were the only customers walked in after 3 pm, so we got great service and chef was only making sushi for us. We ordered several rolls, seaweed salad and sashimi salad. The sushi was fresh and the size was just right for a single bite. We really enjoyed the food at this place. The restaurant only has four tables for seating and two tall round tables for standing. Delicious sushi! My son and I came to Mesaku Sushi because we need to satisfy his need for sushi. We ordered sake, ebi, and hamachi nigiri, a salmon avocado roll, and a tuna poke bowl. My son 6, said this that it was THE BEST roll he ever had. On his last bite, he saved the best for last, which was the hamachi (Yellow tail). Call ahead and they'll text you when it is ready. What a nice place. I was greeted with a happy 'welcome, thank you for coming in'. This strip mall storefront Sushi restaurant has limited seating but I was there for take out. I ordered for two, a bit too much, and was surprised at how reasonable the price was. Had I ordered just one item less I could tell you that we each ate our fill for under $10. While I waited I was offered a taste of their Miso soup... I will be exploring their soup and Udon menu before too long. I admit, I've been taking Sushi home from a local grocery, I watch them make it so it always presents as fresh, but somehow the Sushi from Mesaku was fresher.
