Wine in hand, we picked up just about every item in the gift shop and dreamt of a checked bag to stow it all away in. We meandered out to the tent and cozied around a fire pit to savor our glasses of wine. Back to my dreams of a checked bag: If I'd brought one, it'd be full of bottles of that exact cranberry wine and just enough bubble wrap to ensure safe transport. Our view was faintly lit by dainty string lights cheering up the out-of-season rows of grapes running up the hillside. My mom and I decided this would be a stunning wedding venue and got to pretend planning. I could've sat around that fire, sipping wine and chatting with mi familia, until I was old and gray. Truro Vineyards was the actualization of my every desire for a glass of cranberry vino, and I will remember it for time and eternity!

If you can't bring home any wine, the shop has great wine accessories and vineyard merchandise that I wish I got. Luckily, we each got to keep our Truro wine glass for more sipping in the future.

I passed on the mini-fridge but could not forego the parking space. As such, my bill came to $100 more than I expected to pay. And that was just the beginning. I figured I could make up for my lack of a mini-fridge with the ice machine, but there was none. At least, I couldn't find it after searching all three floors. The room itself lacked such basic amenities as a clock, a coffee maker, a microwave, a notepad, a telephone, and a table for my laptop. (Not being religious, I didn't bother to check for a Bible.) The lamps were somewhat dim, which made it difficult to read the book I had brought with me. And the nightstand was so shoddily made, it actually came apart when I moved it! I had to reassemble the damned thing. For good measure, the WiFi kept dropping out as well. To top it all off, I could hear the guest next door to me snoring. Good thing I brought earplugs. At $200+ a night, I expected much better than this.

The individual tarts (lemon, raspberry, etc.) and cakes are beautifully designed and are appropriately sweet. The tart crusts were legit. I'll miss coming here for pastries/desserts. Maybe I'll try the bistro when it opens, but now I've found a new spot on the Cape for French patisserie and viennoiserie items.

You can tell he really cares about creating a great experience for guests. We ordered a little bit of everything: two creative martinis (the Cinnamon Toast Crunch-tini and Jack & Thyme-tini were both hits), plus a mix of apps and sushi. The potstickers, crab rangoon, sesame BBQ boneless ribs, pulled pork bao, and Asian cucumber salad were all packed with flavor. And the Whitney Houston Roll? Chef's kiss. Everything came out fresh and beautifully presented. Loved the atmosphere too--chill but stylish, with great energy. We visited a couple of times for the oyster happy hour and had an excellent experience each time. The drinks are strong (thank you!) and the service is wonderful and we felt so welcomed each time. We like that it's kind of off the beaten path, despite signs on the main road advertising its shows and happy hour 3-6 PM, which is longer than most of the other happy hours in town, which typically end at 5 PM. The next time I'm in Ptown, I will be spending every Tues-Sat evening here :)

The service was a bit spotty. The waiter was friendly. He was also inattentive, leaving us for a good 10+ minutes before returning to take our order, forgetting to bring a second glass of wine. The host was nowhere to be found when we went to retrieve our umbrellas, so...we went behind the counter to get them ourselves. It's a first-world problem, but....it left us feeling a bit ignored. Perhaps the damp chill of a rainy Easter night left people a bit sluggish. That said, we will come back- the food is always worth the visit.

My Appetizer was the yummy favorite, mushroom ravioli (2) in a pesto cream sauce. Just as delicious as always. Entree I chose lasagna and a side of veal meatballs. This was interesting in its big block tower of lasagna. I was excited until I cut in and the dried out over broiled pasta top wouldn't cut. So I pulled it off and sliced thru. I was disappointed that there wasn't a nice hot melted cheese top but instead, it was really dry. I asked for more red sauce to moisten it up. (Was this last nights piece reheated?) The side of 3 small meatballs were very good. Two Desserts, one tiramisu was good. One chocolate bread budding with the smallish topping of caramel cream was kinda dry that a fork cutting thru broke a hard chunk off. I like my bread pudding to be moist and creamy, not a firm block of bread. So the food was not as good as I hoped and my visiting buddy had a spaghetti marinara, and he was disappointed with it too.
