I attended Judy Gold's recent stand up show expecting an evening of comedy, and for the first part, that's exactly what it was. She was genuinely funny, quick-witted, and engaging. Unfortunately, the show took a sharp turn when she shifted into a lengthy political rant that I found deeply divisive. One of the most disturbing moments for me was when she stated that Jewish people were "superior," pointing to the number of Jewish Nobel Prize winners as evidence. She also spoke about feeling safest in Israel because of armed IDF soldiers with guns and referenced Palestinians throwing gay people off buildings. To me, these remarks came across as excusing or justifying the devastating treatment and genocide of the Palestinian people, which I found deeply disturbing. Rather than feeling like comedy, it felt like a political lecture. Another moment I found particularly disappointing was what I perceived as transphobic humor. At one point, she joked, "What are we going to do now if someone says they want to fuck a sleeve? Are we going to include them in our community?" I found that remark dismissive of LGBTQ+ people. Rather than clever satire, it felt like a mocking punchline directed at a marginalized community. It was disappointing to see the performance shift from comedy to political and cultural commentary. I went to laugh, not to sit through a lengthy ideological monologue. I left there asking myself how a venue like the Post Office Cafe would choose to host a routine like this. read more

I've been going to ptown since 1992. The shows are always fun to go to and I always love a good drag brunch. I don't think a queer o meter is needed but since I do it in every review here we are. Drag brunch = 10,000 queer o meter score Go be free my friend. PO IMO is a simple, great place. The food is consistent and "middle of the road" meaning not fancy and not dive diner. A nice limited traditional menu with choices that aren't overwhelming. We got over easy on tots and an order of avocado toast with egg, that they let me customize a smidgen. Along with that one of us got coffee and there were 3 boozy beverages. Mine was the Bloody Mary. Another solid hit. Ptown usually kills it with the bloody Mary's! Thank gawd. Bill without tip was about $75. Which I consider very fair for 2 with drinks. The brunch show costs extra and you should order way ahead, it books up. As easy as it gets on Commercial St. A few of the things I enjoyed the most- aside from the drag show was that: (1) You don't have to pay to get in (2) super interactive (3) no reservations needed (4) you can sit almost anywhere (5) they have lots to choose from in their food+drink menu. Went for drag brunch and was easily a 10/10! The performances were funny, interactive and they actually PERFORMED. Too many drag shows these days are queens walking around just grabbing dollars - but at the Post Office, they put on a SHOW! The food was really good as well! They have bottles of champagne as well that are reasonably priced. The kitchen is small so the food comes out in waves if you're with a bigger party but overall the service was great and quick! HOSPITALITY NOT INCLUDED If you're in the mood for grumpy, dismissive service with a side of mediocre food, Ivan R. has you covered. From the moment he shuffled over, it felt like we were inconveniencing him by daring to order lunch. Refills? Forget it. Checking on the table? Not happening. Making sure the order was right? Apparently above his pay grade. The food itself was marginal at best, but Ivan's attitude managed to make it taste even worse. Instead of enjoying a meal with friends, we were left wondering why we hadn't walked down the street to one of the many better options Provincetown has to offer. If the Post Office Café wants customers to come back, they might start with upgrading the service, and the kitchen. We couldn't get enough of it! Highly recommend if you are in the Provincetown area. We visited for drag brunch twice and both shows were high energy, interactive, and completely different and hilarious in their own ways! The staff are incredibly friendly and personable. From the moment you step in they make you feel welcome. On mornings without drag brunch, they still serve great breakfast with the option for nice shaded patio seating. Stopped for a quick bite because I heard music from the sold out brunch cabaret inside and was flagged down by someone at the door with a menu in hand. The fish sandwich was very good and I enjoyed hearing the cabaret from outside. Occasionally, one of the performers would bring the entertainment out briefly to the street so that was fun to watch. Lovely lovely lovely!!! As a local its not often we eat on commercial street especially on a Saturday night in July. But when we wandered in here on a complete offchance, We were so pleasantly surprised. It was a rainy evening and we sat in the bar area. The live entertainment and the service were both wonderful. Drinks were stiff and served up quickly with a smile. I had the jerk shrimp pasta and he had the fried chicken and potatoes. Both were absolutely phenominal and made fresh from scratch. I asked for extra sauce and im so glad I did i could have drank it. In all it was 100% worth the commercial street prices and the overall experience made it so much more worth it. I came here after dinner and watched the performance of Schart$ Creek. I love the show Schitt'$ Creek and this was the perfect parody. I wasn't allowed to bring in my milkshake, but they held it in the back for me when the show was gone I was able to finish it. The show was great, and I want to give a special shout-out to the actors who played David, Moira, and Alexis. They were great and really captured the nuances of each character. All of the performers did well, and I was really happy with the seating arrangements being the shortest people closest to the aisle so that everyone can see. I loved it here. read more

Had drinks and dessert with Chantelle (#1) and all three were fabulous! We saw Judy Gold on Sunday night in the upstairs stage area. Dessert was blueberry cake with vanilla crème frosting and strawberries and cream. Chantelle was sassy and fun and a great bartender. Kudos to the upscaling POC has done! Stopped to have a drink and dessert at the bar before seeing Judy Gold upstairs! We were served by our bartender Chantel, who was fabulous. Drinks were wonderful, especially the espresso martini. Had a delicious triple layer cake with berries which was light and refreshing to say the least. The atmosphere was perfect. About four years ago, they decided to give the place a facelift. It is warm, cozy, and beautiful inside. Even the bathrooms were delightful! Chantel's personality is dynamic and contagiously uplifting.
