This Bag O Crab in Beaverton is one of my absolute favorite restaurants in Portland! If you love seafood, you NEED to come here 100%. Their lobster, king crab legs, headless shrimp, and clams are always fresh, juicy, and packed with flavor that you choose. I always get the garlic butter. My second favorite is Cajun mild spicy. The clams is super meaty and I find myself gobbling that as soon I dive in. I've been here like more than 6 times already and it never disappoints. The servers are also welcoming and check in with me. Eating this can be messy so they will give you gloves, plastic bibs, and hand wipes. Bathroom in the back are clean too. GET THE GARLIC NOODLES. I know this is a seafood boil place but the garlic noodles is the under dog! We have been here at least half a dozen times and the food is always good. We ended up getting non spicy so our kiddo can try all the seafood and it still came out tasty. While she didnt eat a lot of seafood, she loved the garlic noodles. Alright, let's talk. I am NOT into the boil trend. It is just not my thing handling a messy pile of veggies and seafood. I come from folks who order lobster 'lazy man' style (aka, they pop it out of the shell for you tableside). I have horrified family members when I order crab and are shocked that I can remove the shells fairly skillfully but that is a normal steamed crab not covered in spices. I love the flavor of crab and lobster so, again, this is not my thing but go for it! What they do have which I am very much into would be a simple lobster roll. I got some delivery and that was a delicious lunch with some fries. I did find it almost amusing how plain tasting the fries are at a seafood boil place and you can get them seasoned but they tasted like VERY clean oil which was not bad though it was not great...just VERY simple. I might give another side a good next time since there were quite a few options. Came here with a few friends and I really enjoyed the combo #2, got the Louisiana sauce in mild. Liked the sauce, it was quite tasty! The snow crab was really good, enjoyed eating the corn and sausages too. They have a huge tv on the wall as well with some scenic channel on. I've been to places that are small and dingy. Now the food; the seafood itself was really good. I ordered a whole Dungeness crab, wife got a pound of shrimp and snow crab. The price was a little steep, $40 for a medium sized Dungeness crab. We spent about $90 with no extra sides or drinks (just water) before tip. The only thing to say about this place was the sauce. The sauce was very subtle. I had the original Cajun and wife had the garlic butter and both were kinda bland. There was a taste to it, but not the kind where you're like "MMM, I need some more of that!!" I like the sauce to be almost addicting and this just was not it. I actually enjoyed my salt/pepper/lemon mix more than the sauce. She was responsive, but I don't eat meat and when I asked for my order that I ordered I specifically said I'm substitute and the sausage for more potatoes and they gave me sausage. Now for all my vegetarians, you know how this is meat lovers of course you wouldn't care but we specifically substitute the sausage for potatoes. Overall pretty good! Ordered shrimp, market crawfish, potato, corn and sausages topped with medium spice and their signature sauce. At first I wasn't too sure about the flavor of the sauce in the beginning but it got addicting as I kept eating the food. In my opinion the sauce was just bit more on the chunky side and wish it was a bit more saucy. No complaints about the quality of the seafood. Good sized shrimp and I loved that they were easy to peel. The market crawfish were unexpectedly big which was a nice surprise. Potatoes were soft and soaked up all the flavor, sausages tasted fine with a great snap to them, and corn was sweet and juicy. I also had their garlic noodles and unfortunately those were lacking a bit in flavor. Maybe it was just the specific batch that I got, but they were plain with not much umami and garlic flavor to them. But when you mix them with the seafood boil sauce, it tasted great. Pricing I'd say was pretty standard and I'd say you'll be satisfied for what you pay for. read more

Met with a friend and for the two of us we got a table right away though for larger groups there will be a wait so a reservation is suggested. We did come after a snow storm and belated Valentine's Day for others which is why there was more waiting for others. The casual vibes were gone today as Valentine's balloons and decor was set up. Our server was kind enough to answer some questions we had and did come to refill our waters after asked, and came to check in a couple times. We got combo A (1 pound of clams and 3/4 pound of shrimp with head off) in atomic sauce seasoning and a little bit of spice. Our server said the spice levels are a little bit spicier than other places. Our food came out pretty quickly and it was pretty self explanatory on how to eat and discard shells and trash. There was a hint of spice that was good for my friend and the spice for me definitely built up where my lips were tingling as I continued to eat. The seasoning for atomic is a combination of cajun, garlic butter, and lemon peper so it was a bit saltier than we expected but still good. The portion was nice bit we felt a little more hungry so ordered 6pc BBQ sauce wings. They also came out fast and we noticed the chicken itself was seasoned before being covered in sauce. The wings were on the smaller side. We also wanted to do half and half for sauces but that is not allowed. Cleanup from what was noticed while we were dining is fast and everything is set up quickly for the next group. Wasn't sure if we wait for the check or not but I went up to the counter beforehand. We came in around 5:20pm on a Sunday hoping to beat the crowd but boy were we surprised! Every table was taken and we were 7th on the waiting list by the time we got there. It was our first time coming here and loved how spacious the restaurant was. There were lots of seating, perfect for big groups! We got combo 1 with just shrimp so we were able to get 2lbs of it. I like that you have the option of choosing 2 different seafood options in combo 1. Food came in very quickly but it was steaming hot and had to wait a few minutes for the food to cool down before digging in. The atomic sauce was delicious but I definitely have to come back to try the other sauces they offer. They also have happy hour, another reason to come back to take advantage! This is my first time trying Cajun seafood boil, so I was super excited when I heard this spot opened in Beaverton! The inside of the restaurant has an eclectic vibe with large decorations of shellfish. The table booths are lined up in two rows with booths on either side for maximum seating. The service was prompt, which I appreciate. We ordered the Combo 1 with Mussels and Head On Shrimp with the Atomic Sauce at Medium spice. We also got a side of the Garlic Noodles. Our boil came out piping hot! Immediately when I took the first bite of shrimp, it was bursting with flavor! I LOVE this spot, but driving an hour out to Portland just to get it is far and few in between. When I saw they finally open I was so excited. The food is identical, so delicious and customizable as far as what you want, what flavor you want and what level of spice you'd like. They still use the silly robot servers, but a server grabs your food off of the robot and hands it to you... I don't get it, some people like it, but it's whatever. The decor is simple, clean, and very different from the Portland location. Definitely better I would say, but I always prefer something simpler! I've gone to this location twice now, and had the same server both times. She's been wonderful, very friendly and quick to grab you some extra napkins/gloves and check your drinks. This might sound silly, but bring your own gloves! They give you some, but they're like the flimsy humongous ones you get from a hair dye kit.. they rip easy and some how I always end up with butter/garlic inside my glove when I do use it. I forgot to mention... don't be afraid to ask about price on the crab! It says market price, and they don't have the market price list posted (that I've seen) like their Portland Location. I tried the two other crab options they have, versus just doing snow crab like I always do, and my boil ended up being 170 bucks. Part of the fun in this is the bib, gloves, no plates, and license to be messy and eat with your hands. The original Cajun is so flavorful. The garlic fries were excellent also. I was super excited to try a new seafood boil place that's in the west side! Sadly it was probably the most disappointing seafood boil I've had. My friend and I got the combo #2 and added frozen crawfish to ours which I didn't expect to be amazing but wanted them anyway. When we got our food it lacked seasoning and sauce?? A seafood boil should be drenched in sauce and when we got our bags the food was not even wet? We had to get extra on the side and it was kind of pricey for the up charge. The crawfish was pretty dirty too, or just burnt, but some of mine had a bunch of black stuff all over the shells and legs, and were super gummy. Again I didn't expect much with the crawfish since they were frozen. The rest of my food was super overcooked, shrimp was squished and mushy, crab legs were alright but hard to even get any meat out since the shells were so soft from being overcooked. The sauce and seasonings were definitely absent throughout the entire meal. Seafood boils are super pricey and my meal was $70, service was slow and got checked on once and they took forever to give us our check. I heard the Portland location is better, so I hope this location improves. Probably won't be coming back which is disappointing :( read more
