originally, when i tried this place out a few years back when they just opened - i wasn't a fan. food and drink offerings in the menu were more limited, and mediocre. HOWEVER, i decided to give it another shot after seeing their attractive happy hour menu! (offered from 2PM to 5PM). I was quickly seated in the bar area and greeted by my server. I tried the hamachi crispy rice and raw oyster which was super yummy and fresh. It was beautifully presented, and garnished. My only note was that I wish it would have been served with a side of wasabi/soy sauce but it had its own sweet soy sauce drizzled on top. its super nice in the summer when the weather is nice because the have this partial outdoor bar seating window that opens up! you dont see many places with this kind of bar design. read more

Their ingredients are fresh, and every dish was made wonderfully. They do get quite busy during peak hours, so we were glad when we came in for an early dinner. We had a very good experience at Wild Fin American Grill. The food was delicious. My husband had the baby back ribs and loved them and the sides that came with them . My friend had a healthy salad and raved about it. I had the Ahi Poke appetizer and thought it was delicious but I thought it needed some wasabi. The best part about our experience was the service we received from Sara. She was a top notch food server in every way and did every thing she could to make our dinner wonderful. I saw a couple videos, of noodles and shrimp, Asian Style, I was hoping hubby will fulfill my cravings. But, with my event and attending Mass in the area, it will be too late to shop and cook. He decided, to have dinner in his old work place, before retirement. Wild Fin was it! We didn't have reservations, and it was 20 mins. before we get to sit down, we decided to take the bar section and was seated right away. It was about 30 mins. before we got our meal. It's a Saturday! We shared two meals: Parmesan Filet of Sole with Risotto, it also had mushrooms. And BBQ Baby Back Ribs. We also shared a Harvest Salad. Everything was delicious. Service was friendly. The restrooms were clean. The whole environment of the restaurant was very modern. (Actually, we were just talking about how good all the food was, when a kitchen staff - or who ever was the guy who delivered our food - came back to ask how it was). :) Between him and me, we still have leftovers for another meal. I also like all the surprises: 1. The corn bread was cut in half and grilled. 2. There's jalapeno in the corn bread. I usually don't like jalapeno, but you couldn't tell them here. 3. There's whole corn in the corn bread, just like we do at home. 4. Thinly slices of apples in the coleslaw. 5. First time hubby is eating that type of mushrooms, added in his Parmesan of Sole dish. 6. Specially love the fact, that I have wet towel for my two fingers, stained from eating ribs, and I didn't ask for a new napkin, that dropped on the floor. They're too busy running around! We were gifted a card for here as a thank you and decided to pop in for some happy hour and drinks. It definitely seemed like an older crowd and a bit older of a vibe, but that makes sense because the people that gifted us to us were quite of that age bracket and also when mentioned to other people where we had gone that weekend most people have that similar age were quite excited so if you're ever going out somewhere with parents or grandparents, this really might hit the spot. Great fried fish great drink drinks and they're happy hour was very affordable. We got the ride open. I've always super nice plenty of places to sit and just an easy relaxing day away from the kids. I am not a huge seafood person if it's not deep-fried or sushi I usually tend to stay away from it so we just went fish and chips and went with what was on tap. Very trendy and stylish modern vibes for a casual yet elegant dining experience. The calamari appetizer was very meaty (which I like) and the aioli sauce was a savoury addition. My peppercorn steak was excellently cooked and cut with of course the delectable peppercorn sauce that I dipped everything with. The "crab crust" on my fish was strangely cold. I'm not sure if this was done purposely. The miso cod was one of my favourites that was accompanied by the gomae spinach side. All in all, it was a very nice experience with great attentive service and I would come back to try some other dishes. read more

For a chain/strip mall location/industrial-type restaurant with exposed ceiling pipes, lots of seating and tasty bites, WildFin was a very good spot for lunch after driving my daughter to this area so she can catch up on errands in Beaverton. Wild Fin serves up a nice mix of seafood dishes- and I don't mean 2 options only. Despite their name, these folks also have beef, poultry and pork items. For my kid and I, it was about the seafood since we're both Pescatarian. My daughter went for the 3 for $33 deal with appetizer+main plate+dessert and selected the shrimp+artichoke+scampi-ish with a silky cream sauce to start. That appetizer was love at first bite! She also enjoyed her salmon dish as well and donut dessert with a maple+butter sauce. I mean...for a packaged deal, her bites were wholesome. My Ahi Tuna+mixed green main plate was a lot- so much so, I reserved half of it to eat on the plane the following day heading home. Service from our server Evin was incredible- and I still got to enjoy a Happy Hour cocktail even when we didn't sit at the bar because she'd made special seating accommodations at a regular table instead of high-tops with my daughter in mind since she's recovering from surgery. I used to enjoy this restaurant but it seems to have gone downhill. I had the salmon and the waitress advised me that the chef cooks it medium rare. Since that is the way I enjoy salmon I told her absolutely yes. Of course, the salmon came out well done, overcooked, and dry. My wife had steak and lobster since it was their lobster promotion. The steak was fine but the two dry extremely tiny lobster tails without any flavor were a huge disappointment. There seems to be a theme here of overcooking the dishes. All in all it was not an enjoyable evening. A bummer when you have to pay these prices and do not get value in return. read more

First off, the food here was awesome. No complaints there. My wife and I both got the petrale sole and it was amazing. With that being said, we went for our anniversary which I mentioned when I made the reservation. Absolutely zero mention of it by our server. This restaurant has wines on tap you can get by the liter. We ordered the red blend liter. We were then presented a bottle of 14 Hands Hot To Trot red blend instead. We were told they were out of the tap blend but would honor this at the same price (it was a $2 difference, plus less wine overall). Okay fine, however, the bottle was not even full. It was a screw top so clearly was a bottle someone else had tried and was sent back. Very odd that a restaurant would even do this. All in all food good, weird service and no attempt to make our anniversary even slightly special. read more

I took my brother to WilldFin American Grill in Beaverton Oregon for his birthday. After being seated I looked at the menu and noticed that everything was expensive, but it was a special occasion, so I made a mistaken assumption that the food must be very good. What a surprise! We ordered two oysters as appetizers at $4.95 each, so. They were about the size of my thumbnail and did not taste very fresh. My brother ordered the Garlic Prawns and Scallops, $36.95. I ordered Miso Black Cod, the fish had a pretty good flavor was a very small portion (about 4 oz) and came with about two tablespoons of spinach which was cooked until wilted. I sampled his meal and he sampled mine, and we both agreed that it was mediocre at best, the portion size was between small and mediocre. For dessert I got Apple Cobbler. It was mostly crust, and not too many apple slices, and the slices were almost bitter. My brother's Chocolate Moose was just OK, not good, and costed $12.95 each. The bill came to $115.65. I would have been disappointed at half the price. To summarize the quality was mediocre, especially for the price. Live and learn, I will never go there again and warn my friends and family as well! The one positive thing I can think of about this is, that the waitress (Evin) was very nice, even after summarized my critique. read more

I came here for drinks with friends one day and it was fun. The inside of the establishment is spacious, lively, and has lots of seating. Staff is friendly and upbeat, and service is fast. While they have food, my friends and I only got drinks (as we got dinner beforehand already). Their cocktails are pretty good, and they have a big drinks menu. I haven't been here in a few years, but decided to come back - specifically for the parmesan crusted cod, and of course freshly made donuts. Food: The food was good, came relatively quickly. Drinks from the bar took 35 minutes from the time we ordered with our server. Service: Having to ask multiple times for water, describing a "wet" martini, and noting that the restaurant was about 1/2 full left something to be desired. While our server was friendly, he had (what I could see) 4 tables, and all of them were waiting on something. Ambiance: I didn't expect to be seated immediately, having a reservation - but we were greeted pretty quickly. We were sat at 7:25 (our reservation was 7:15), and the server came by at 7:30 asking if we wanted drinks. The server kept coming by to say the order was in, and took our food order. We ordered our food (at 8:15) hoping to be able to enjoy our drinks beforehand. Drinks arrived at 8:20. Appetizer (rosemary bread) arrived at 8:30. Food arrived at 8:35. I'm normally not one to ding a review, but the restaurant was about 1/2 full, I could see 2-3 servers, a manager, a hostess, 2 bartenders, and another manager (assuming assistant manager). But, having to wait an hour from being seated to served, is ridiculous. And 45 minutes for drinks (which were ordered right as we sat) is also ridiculous. While prices in Portland are soaring, I just don't want to spend my money where the experience is slow, non-existent, even if the food is good. If you've got plenty of time to sit around, by all means - the food IS good. read more

What a nice dinner! We had a party of 5 picky (adult) eaters and our server did a wonderful job directing the party. They do an off-the-menu vegan chickpea taco that was super yummy and a kale slaw salad. My friends' local salmon dish was also very well prepared and some of the best salmon we have had in years. My wife and I thought we were gonna be in for a rough ride after being seated by the hostess. She was unfriendly and disinterested. She seated us without so much as a "I hope you enjoy your meal." Didn't catch her name, but she sported glasses. With that said, Our waitress (Katrina) made up for that. Very attentive and super friendly. We started with the seafood chowder which was excellent. I'd come back just to get a bowl of that. My wife ordered the shrimp and grits, while I ordered the peppercorn steak. I ordered my steak medium-rare and it was cooked perfectly. Went for a birthday dinner on a Sunday night and the service and food was excellent! Filet mignon and garlic prawns were perfectly cooked and so delicious... tallow butter omg. Butterscotch creme brûlée was rich and creamy, so good - coffee or tea with this is a must! They were also accommodating on some substitutions when they were out of an ingredient, which was the only hiccup. It's an open layout so it's a bit loud with a full house. First time going even though I drive through there fairly often! Environment: The outdoor and indoor seating were available. I was there for happy hour so we had to sit near the bar but we chose outside which had a good amount of spots! Staff: friendly, nice, and checked on us a few times. Didn't feel rushed. Food: Drink: vanilla cream soda: this was a lot sweeter than I thought. It was interesting and flavorful but if I drink it on its own (as in nothing to snack with), it got intensely sweet. That's just me and know next time to try something else! Food: I ordered fish and chips. There were two nice-sized cod (I think). It was flakey, tender, and the batter was nice and thin. It had a light ale/beer flavor to it but didn't over power. The fries were nicely done too and with the tartar, it was really good! This is a tough review for me. My family and I have been here many times, and I just cannot get it up to that fifth star no matter how hard I try. I say that because I want it to be just a tiny bit better, but there's always something little that's missing. For instance, they recently removed the cheese fondue appetizer off of their menu but now have sushi?!?! First, that fondue app was the bee's knees (that was mostly one of the highlights for us), but sushi...sushi? There are no less than four or five other restaurants within a stones throw that either have or feature sushi on their menu - some of those restaurants have incredible, incredible sushi so a seafood grill goes with sushi? instead of an incredible fondue staple? Hmmm.... With that said, the service is usually good and the food is usually pretty well on the mark, but stuff like the "sushi movement" have me feeling like a four-star is justified. Tried this place for a date and had a great visit! The server was friendly and attentive, the steak was tender, came with plenty of fries and spinach salad. The flavors were great together and the peppercorn sauce was super good. The steak salad was also delicious, glad the steak with chimichurri was on the side plated vs in a bowl, made it easier to cut and eat. Technically, I'd give 3.5 stars, but since that isn't an option, I'm giving 4 because it was closer to better than worse. First off, our server was great - friendly, bubbly (but not in an annoying way), and attentive. Atmosphere is casual and comfortable. Food was better than OK but not amazing. The people I was with enjoyed their fish & chips and salmon. My halibut was tasty but dry and a tad overcooked. Veggies served with the halibut were very good. Chowder was very thick and creamy; nice flavor but had way more cream than seafood. I would try WildFin again, but may try ordering a few starters and salads and maybe raw items rather than fish entrees. read more

TL/DNR: i think Wildfin is a place you eat in. Not a to go place. So on my birthday, I spent the bulk of the day in the ICU with my kid, and minion picked me up from Kaiser Hospital a place I am tired of. What do you want for your birthday dinner? Me: Fish. Hmm, said minion...thinking. Copper River? No. Oswego Grill? No. We decided to try Wildfin, to go, because well. People. I am effing tired of being pleasant. I had to be pleasant in the ER and ICU for 22 days straight. Taxing, even with espresso. Even with the baked goods minion keeps buying me. We ordered two fish entrees in the mid $20 range and $6 rosemary potato bread. The fish entrees were good, the sides were good (albeit small), but the sauces you see in other people's yelp photos of the same entrees were missing. The rosemary potato bread was my favorite part. Warm and crusty outside, tender inside. Mmm. I am easily charmed by good bread. (I ate the leftovers for dinner the next day with Trader Joe's unexpected Cheddar. I highly recommend that.) I think our dinner was fine, everything was well cooked, the Dungeness crab inside my rockfish was nice and the parmesan crust on minions sole was tasty, but I bet part of the whole Wildfin experience would include a cocktail and good service, and you know, um people. This is the second time that we have had poor service here. We were on-time for our reservation and were seated immediately (in a less than half-full restaurant). then the wait began. More than 10 minutes elapsed before my Wife went to the hostess and said we had not yet seen our server. A few minutes later the server showed up with water and took. our drink and appetizer order. The drink order took sometime to arrive. We did not see our server again until the mains were delivered and our drinks had been empty for awhile. The second round of drinks didn't arrive until we were almost done with our mains with the explanation that they had run out of Martini glasses. Won't be coming back. read more

Came across this place due to Costco giftcards. Last year on Black Friday, these giftcards went on sale at Costco and I decided to snag one to give it a try. I've gone back for the deal at Costco 4 times now even without the extra sale. Wildfin is a great place for a chill happy hour, elevated girls night, or even a date night. My husband and I celebrated our first year of marriage at WildFin and we had 0 regrets. Now, we made reservations, BUT we opted for their happy hour instead. This is where you seat yourself at an open table. We have ONLY been for Happy Hour. Happy Hour is from 4-6 and oh my god is it a GREAT deal. Here is what we've tried: 1. Wagyu Beef Sliders: yummy! these are sold single-y and are great to start. A little under $4 and these bad boys are a nice start. The horseradish can be a lot, so I ask for it without or on the side. 2. Cheese Fondue: pretty plain, the sides of bread and apple are great. My favorite was the mini pickles though :) 3. Fish n Chips: this platter is a great serving for only $9. It generally comes with one big fish stick, but sometimes they aren't so generous. Good and bad days. 4. Seafood Tower: this is where the VALUE is at!! It comes with calamari, tuna toasts, and garlic shrimp. Holy bananas is this a great deal! Its delicious, fresh, and huge! I feel like 3-4 people can share this. It is such a great deal during HH. Must get!!! Drinks are reasonably priced but do know this is an organic, farm-fresh type restaurant- which can create a higher price tag. Now from their full service menu here is what we've ordered: 1. Rosemary Bread: i know some fancy places have bread included but for less than $7- this loaf is WORTH IT. They include two house made butters one sweet and one savory- both EPIC! 2. Gouda Mac n Cheese: this in on their apps, but it's a good taste. Not amazing- wow- best thing, but good 3. Salmon: they run fish specials every now and then and we have had their King Salmon, its plated beautiful and taste fresh! 4. Shepard's Pie: deconstructed almost, but good flavor. Not truly traditional, but a great effort! Desserts have been hit or miss for us :) Overall we love WildFin! but definitely get those Costco giftcards to come here! read more
