While I wouldn't say 'I'll never return," -- it IS convenient -- I'll definitely check out other bagelries (if that's a word!) Not enough sesame on the sesame bagel and the "everything" is also lacking. I was shocked that my husband paid close to $14 for that little thing of scallion cheese (which, btw, I later noticed for $6 in Fairway.) What gets to me is that the cheese had so few scallions that the schmear, when applied, looked like regular cream cheese. There's gotta be better. read more

Just wanted to put a word in about the delicious food and wonderful staff and a special thank you to the great co-owner, Dean. I'm very grateful and always enjoy stopping in for my bagel treat or more recently, ordering up to my residence. Everything I've had here has been delicious and the deliveries are remarkable because the food comes really hot! I would love them to add baba ghanoush to the menu again, though if possible, and chopped liver! I used to have the chopped liver at the university place branch until they also stopped selling it. It was so delicious and fresh! Those two items I would have every week But at least there's so many other wonderful varieties on the menu. I love the cinnamon walnut cheese so much! The Kasha Knish is huge and delicious! Sometimes I take the Kasha out of the dough and just put it in a plate mixed with the bowtie noodles and I have an authentic polish dish!!! Bagel Bob's disappointed me for the second time. The bagel was like rubber and the new Cheddar Cream Cheese was tasty but I ended up grossed out by something I started chewing that didn't taste like bacon. I spit it out! The employees are quick to take your order but don't smile or make me feel valued as a customer. Just a routine for the employees. When I heard the price of $6.80 I knew I would not be returning! Horrible attitude from the 2 male staff members working. My sister and I went in and ordered separately, then we got to the counter they asked us if we wanted to pay together, to which we said "sure". We ordered 3 bagels and told him such, he rang us up and we paid and waited for our food. They only brought out 2 bagels, which we corrected and said we ordered 3. These two men then berated us on why we paid together and that next time we need to order separately and pay separately. This was a complete miscommunication on their part and they turned it around on us, insinuating that we were trying not to pay for the 3rd bagel. We had every intention of paying for 3 bagels when we walked in and felt very insulted at this interaction. I'd assume this would be a very common issue with a simple fix, but the way they raised their voices at us just trying to get breakfast left us feeling so uncomfortable. The price was decent and the service was quick. I got my bagel, and also a piece of lemon cake I couldn't resist at the counter (I know, cake with breakfast is a dubious health choice). Long story short, the bagel was delicious! Chewy with a strong flavor and the the cream cheese was delightful. Honestly, the lemon cake was a bit disappointing, but I guess that's why it's called Bagel Bobs and not Lemon Cake Bobs. The interior wasn't flashy, but there was a bit of seating if you weren't taking out like most people did (myself included). I like their bagels. In particular, I found that their pumpernickel bagels are outstanding. They don't take shortcuts and include carroway seeds which add additional flavor. Service is generally quick, even when busy and the surroundings are clean. As far as local places go, I would say that they are amongst the better.
