I was so excited to come to this all gf bakery. I ordered items that I know I can't make as good at home such as bagels, the cinnamon roll, and the brioche donut. My husband got a breakfast sandwich on a bagel. Since becoming gluten free, I've missed soft pretzels. So obviously I had to order the pretzel bagel with plain cream cheese. It was delicious. We also ordered the cinnamon bun latte and chocolate babka latte. They were both ok. The everything bagel my husband's breakfast sandwich came on lacked flavor to be honest. The brioche donut was soft and tasted like the real thing. The cinnamon roll was the best one I've had since becoming gluten free. It was pretty busy inside, but because I ordered something simple it came out pretty quick. My husband's order, on the other hand, took some time. read more

After all the social media hype, I was expecting to love everything, but unfortunately was pretty disappointed with my experience here. I was really looking forward to trying these bagels, but didn't get there until around 4pm, so there wasn't a ton to choose from, which is understandable. My go-to at any bagel establishment is an everything, but they were out so I opted for cinnamon raisin, toasted with strawberry cream cheese. I also grabbed a chocolate zucchini bread. The zucchini bread was dry and had a spongey consistency. The outer edges were hard and the loaf lacked flavor and sweetness. I know it's GF, but I was just expecting more, because I've had many GF baked goods that were moist and delicious, and that you wouldn't know were gluten free. This was not one of them. Onto the bagel. It was decent, but again, not the greatest. I asked for it to be toasted but it was barely. The strawberry cream cheese was excellent, but the way it was put on the bagel was messy. Not evenly distributed and it clumped in the bagel hole and was spilling out everywhere, meanwhile the rest of the bagel hardly had any cream cheese. It was not suitable for walking and eating, although I tried! Ended up tossing the majority of it. Service was meh. Maybe things would have been better early in the morning when items are fresh, but I won't go out of my way to return here. If you are celiac, then it's probably awesome for you because it's a dedicated gluten free facility and everything in the shop is GF. So from a safety standpoint, probably awesome for those who absolutely cannot have wheat. Still, I wasn't a fan. read more

Oh no... ordered a Super Seed bagel toasted with plain cream cheese and it was the saddest excuse for a bagel I've seen in the last decade. So small, SO DENSE, no flavor. Yikes! What am I paying for here? What a disappointment. Ambiance was nice but service was also disappointing. Pretty disappointed with this place. Firstly, I think $5.95 for a bagel with butter is a ridiculous price point -- that's high for a bagel with cream cheese, which is the same cost -- categorizing butter the same is a mistake. That bagel plus an iced coffee was like $13 ... good lord. Second, the bagel really was really quite bad. It could be the time that I went (11am or so), but the bagel was quite bland, had poor texture and didn't feel fresh despite a toast. I'd compare it to a 2-3 day old bagel texture wise from another bagel shop but way less flavorful - debated throwing it out a few bites in. It could be the lack of gluten in their bagels that threw me off, but if you want a good NY bagel at a normal price point I'd go anywhere else (Ess-a or popup or liberty all close by) On the positive side, staff was nice - hope it's just a bad experience, but won't be trying again. read more

While I don't have a gluten allergy/intolerance, I have a few friends who do and wanted to test this place out for the next time they visit. The shop is conveniently located near a few train lines and seems to be built specifically for takeout since there's no seating and limited space to stand unobtrusively (the staff did a good job of moving the line along quickly so it wasn't too noticeable 6). Not that that stopped me from taking a few bites of the everything bagel with chive cream cheese I ordered before heading back out into the cold. I was surprised at the decently chewy texture of the bagel considering it wasn't made with wheat flour. The real winner of the day, though, was the cinnamon roll slice. Instead of being baked in individual rolls side by side in a shallow pan, the rolls here are baked in a long rectangular loaf pan, iced with a cream cheese frosting, and then cut into thick slices. The cinnamon flavor was excellent and the dough itself was quite moist, especially once it was warmed a little at home. read more

All their products are amazing! Unfortunately, we stopped there on our way to the airport and bought a lot of goodies to take home. When we got home 6 bagels were missing. We were overjoyed that they decided to send us the missing bagels. I highly recommend! and I will definitely go there when I'm in New York and order from them online. For both GF and Vegan options, this was a good spot with very kind service! My first day I got the superseed bagel with vegan cream cheese and smoked salmon which was excellent. My iced latte was also great! I went back the second day for the vegan BEC which was...not so good. The brioche bun was nice but the eggs, cheese and "bacon" were basically inedible even though I'm very used to vegan food. Egg needed ANY seasoning, they didn't bother to melt the cheese and the bacon was so hard I had to take it out because literally couldn't bite into it. It also tasted disgusting so would've taken it out anyway. I love modern bread and bagel. While we sadly got to this one after the kitchen had closed, I snagged a seasonal pumpkin pop tart with chocolate chips that gave me LIFE!! Real pumpkin inside, a fresh, flaky pastry...it's been decades since I've had a pop tart b/c of gluten so to have a gluten free one that was beyond delicious gave me a childlike sense of joy. I also grabbed to of the chocolate rugelach which I get every time. The staff greeted us with a smile and we'll Absolutely back to try some of the kitchen food. The bagels are small and dry. They are not doughy - not a New York bagel. They have a generous amount of butter on the bagel but it couldn't fix the bagel itself. The service was fine, but very slow.
