Toasted Rye Bagel with hummus, Sprouts, Pickled Red Onion ruined because it got cut with a knife that left a cream cheese smear
    J B.

Vegan be careful! We had breakfast there with our family. There were six of us. Two of us had coffee which we mixed 1/2 Dark Harbor and 1/2 French Roast which we enjoyed with some almond milk. Our order: Grandchildren shared a Salt Bagel toasted, with Garlic Herb cream cheese Mini Muffin, The adults (who keep to a vegan diet) got: Medium Iced A "Hummus and all the Veggies" on a toasted Sesame Bagel A "Hummus and all the Veggies" on a toasted While Wheat with Italian Seasonings Bagel which had to be remade because it got cut in the kitchen with a knife that left a cream cheese smear on the sandwich. Toasted Rye (was actually pumpernickle) Bagel with hummus, Sprouts, Pickled Red Onion had to be remade because it got cut with a knife that left a cream cheese smear on vegan order Toasted Whole Wheat Italian Seasonings Bagel with Tofutti (R), Tomato, Red Onion, and Sprouts The bagels are smaller and harder than New York bagels. This might be a Maine style thing. They were tasty despite being small. I was hungry so I had two, which I generally don't do. It's a popular and busy place. They ran out of salt bagels before I could order one. The grandchildren split the last one with an order placed at 8:30am. It's definitely a "get there early if you want a wider selection kind of place." I would go back again but would be very careful to make sure they cleaned their knife before cutting the bagel sandwhich to assure I wasn't getting unwanted dairy in my food. Having to have 2 orders remade due to sloppy kitchen practices is not reassuring that they respect their Vegan customers.

They respect the shmear!!! Had a DELICIOUS bagel with jalapeño cream cheese. Fair prices, kind staff, 'small town feel'. Will be back!!

What a great bagel place! There are tables inside to sit and the staff are great. We each had an Italiano bagel with blueberry cream cheese. The bagel was crunchy and the blueberry cream cheese was outstanding. I recommend this place!

Sesame bagel with bacon, egg, and cheddar cheese! (Half, I ate the other half too quickly to capture a picture lol)

This is such a great breakfast and lunch spot! They have so many options of bagels and cream cheeses, as well as many sandwich and salad options. Such fast and pleasant service too, which is really appreciated.

Stopped here on our way out of town. I got a bagel, sausage, egg and cheese sandwich. It was very good. The service was fast and friendly.

We loved it here so much that we came two out of our three mornings in Camden! We tried the everything bagel and the blueberry bagels with the blueberry or scallion cream cheese. Yum!

My friend and I stopped in Camden for a quick breakfast and coffee on our way to Acadia. What a cute town. Also, what a delicious bagel sandwich! The bagel was soft and chewy and the egg tasted freshly cooked. We decided to try a coffee elsewhere, so no comment on their beverages. Service was quick and friendly.

What an adorable place! Great staff, great bagels, and great atmosphere. The cafe is fairly large and within walking distance from the main area of Camden. I opted for an Asiago bagel with garlic and herb cream cheese plus a hazelnut cold brew. Yummy! Couldn't recommend this place enough.

I added spinach to one of their egg bagel menu options. This is whole wheat everything. I didn't try the challah but it looked delicious!

Many of the reviews are old. Their current bagels are stale and appear to have been baked the day before, not fresh.

It gets busy here, but the bagels are better than one might expect for a small midcoast town. Worth checking out.

Let's start at the beginning- Just because the roll-down…read moredoor is closed doesn't mean the bagel shop is closed. That was my first error as I went by this place a handful of times. It's wasn't until I saw someone emerge from the double doors to the left of the roll-down that I realized that the business was open. Not that they need any help getting people inside (it was HOPPING) but a sandwich board outside perhaps would show that the business is open inside? I went in and immediately everyone was friendly and chipper. Ordering was simple enough but be prepared, they sell through some things, understandably as this place is very popular. I got an espresso and a toasted herb bagel with plain cream cheese. Ive been all over Bath, Brunswick, Rockland, and Camden and was convinced that the New Englander's palates were shot. Not a single business has served me a decent espresso. Not a single one until I stopped at Dutchman's. FINALLY a bright, clean shot that doesn't taste like someone put a cigar out in it. Everyone needs to take notes. THEN we get to the bagel....didn't think I was about to have the best bagel of my life, yet here I am. Light, toasted, slightly chewy but not heavy... jeez. Can we talk about the space? It's gorgeous. Airy, cool, industrial...but the people running it make it feel homey. We can talk about the restaurant they're putting in next door too but let's be realistic, if they use any of the blueprint they're currently operating off of, they're not going to have any issues (Omg the pizza oven!) The view alone will stop you in your tracks. I'm all in on Dutchman's. I bought the merch. I have a tee shirt and a beanie and the only reason I don't have a hoodie is because they were sold out in my size. What else is there to say... 10/10 No notes.

As soon as I walked up I was bummed to see they had no egg or cheese, which is what I was planning to order. Instead, I went with the Turkey Lurkey. It's not something I'd typically order but it was delicious. It was a bit messy so eating it in the car was a mistake lol. I also got a cold brew coffee. My order was $17 for those two things, which is expensive, but the quality of the food and coffee was very good and I'd much rather give my money to this business than a large corporation like Starbucks. I saw another review give 3 stars because they are comparing their bagels to NY/NJ style bagels. I'm originally from NJ, and yes I prefer those style bagels, but that is NOT what Dutchman's is going for. These are Wood-Fired bagels, and yes they do have a more bread like texture but I thought they were delicious and made for perfect sandwich bagels. I went on a Thursday morning and there was no line so service was quick. I was in and out in about 10 mins.

We love the Kennebec breakfast sandwich and the lemon blueberry scones. The kids love the giant chocolate chip cookies. I love ordering through the app, because it gives you the opportunity to earn points that you can use toward future purchases. Note, you can't order pastries or cookies etc through the app - the stock changes too frequently to be able to post those. The staff at this location were very nice and I saw the owner of the chain pop in and greet everyone with a smile. It was really nice - like seeing a superstar. We were there on Mother's day and so naturally it was busy around morning/brunch time. I placed an order 30 minutes in advance and stopped in right around the pick up time. I bought some offering while I was waiting. Special mother's day cookies and some of the regular offerings - chocolate chip cookies and lemon blueberry scones. The couple behind me placed a bagel sandwich order and their order was ready in about 10 minutes, which seemed really reasonable and amazing given how busy they were. I continued to watch in person orders being fulfilled. I stood and waited patiently. I inquired once and was told it would be a couple of minutes - this was shared with me even though he didn't actually check any of the slips or ask for my name. I waited. 20 minutes after my online order was estimated to be ready, they yell out, "Is anyone waiting for an online order" I raised my hand. The panicked look on his face when he saw me, showed that he knew, he sold me the baked goods when I walked in 30 minutes earlier....I had been patiently waiting for close to an hour for 2 breakfast sandwiches...just 2 sandwiches! He quickly started scrambling and said, it will be just a couple of minutes. At the same time he was yelling out if anyone knew how to shut off online ordering. I did finally get our sandwiches. 5 Stars for quality of products and they were nice at the register. They lost stars...because they weren't organized and weren't communicating with each other. They simply were hanging online tickets, seemingly deprioritizing them and focusing on filling in person orders. I was aggravated and disappointed as this is not service I have ever experienced with the Sunrise chain. Oakland is always amazing as is Waterville (arguably one of the busier restaurants). If you choose to come here, I would recommend ordering in person.

Luckily, there were only about five people ahead of us, and the line moved quickly. The person taking our order immediately made us feel welcome. Even with a busy morning crowd, they took their time with everyone and treated each customer like they were the only one there. That kind of genuine friendliness is something you don't forget. The atmosphere is unlike any coffee shop I've been to. Every wall has something different to look at, quirky artwork, funny signs, vintage pieces, random collectibles, a mannequin dressed in sunglasses and boots, even a life-size Tom Cruise hanging out on the patio. I found myself constantly looking around because there was something interesting in every direction. One of my favorite touches was the self-serve coffee station. You grab a mug from the wall instead of a paper cup. I picked one with a cool Abraham Lincoln wearing a backwards baseball cap while sipping coffee, which perfectly matched the café's fun personality. There were several coffee choices, and I ended up trying two. Refills are available for a small fee. For breakfast, I ordered one of their brioche breakfast sandwiches with the meat of the day, which was brisket. The brisket was tender, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the soft brioche bun. I also ordered a toasted jalapeño bagel with jalapeño shmear. It comes sprinkled with Tajín but got mine on the side. While I usually enjoy Tajín, it was just a little much for me first thing in the morning, so next time I'd ask for it without. The jalapeño shmear itself was delicious. After eating, we took our coffee outside to enjoy the patio. The colorful mural covering the building, beautiful flower pots, and relaxed seating made it a great place to sit and slow down for a while. Dog Bar Jim isn't just a place to grab breakfast, it's one of those places with real personality. Great food, excellent coffee, genuinely kind service, and an atmosphere that's fun, creative, and impossible to forget. If you're anywhere near Brunswick, it's absolutely worth the stop.

I came here today for the first time in a few months because I've been in a rough financial spot, but I decided to spoil myself and order online since I was rushing to work. The order said it would take about 30 minutes, so I thought, "Okay, I have time." I got there about 20 minutes later and was shocked to see that my order was already done! I grabbed the bag and headed back to my car, gave the bagels to my partner, and we hopped onto the interstate. Unfortunately, the next exit was 10 miles south. My partner pulls the bagels out, and to our absolute surprise... THE BAGELS WEREN'T EVEN TOASTED. WHO IS ORDERING A BAGEL WITH CREAM CHEESE UNTOASTED?! So not only did I pay $20 for THREE bagels, but I paid for three bagels that were completely inedible to me. And because we were already on the interstate with no exit for 10 miles, there was nothing I could do about it. I'm honestly so disappointed because I used to love this place. I understand mistakes happen, but when you're spending $20 on three bagels, especially when you're already trying to be careful with money, you expect your order to at least be made correctly.
