    Apple danish

Here we go, So the hype was big about this Deli. I even passed by a couple of times while in the area and the line would be out the door. My BFF and I decided to check it out. We went after lunch crowd was over. It was about a few people sitting down in the dining area eating. Deli was very organized and clean. Customer service was OK. As we approached the counter of ordering I viewed the pastries which looked scrumptious. I decided to order the Apple Danish . My BFF ordered the chocolate muffin. Then we veiwed the sandwiches. I wasn't 100 percent sold on the sandwiches so I asked for my sandwich to be made fresh. However it wasnt . It was reheated. There is a big difference in taste from reheated to making it fresh. I just dealt with it. You would think after paying 46 dollars I would be satisfied, but to be honest with you I wasnt. After eating half of the sandwich I threw the other half away. Im thinking to myself ok maybe the Apple Danish would make up for it. No.. The Danish was very dry inside. Didn't really have any kind of kick to it. To be honest I was totally disappointed. Overall it was not the greatest but it wasnt the worst either. Im undecided if I would visit again. Happy Yelping.

This place is good.. I've ordered for delivery before but this place gets you in and out. There was a good amount of people ordering and the wait time was minimal. Food was great and service just as good.

Best bagels on LI. There is absolutely nothing that compares to a fresh everything bagel from Bagel Chalet. Been coming here for years and always order a dozen to go. Although the prices have increased and the bagels have seemingly gotten smaller, I would still say that the satisfaction I get is worth every extra penny!

Bagel Chalet The staff at Bagel Chalet are nothing short of just spectacular. I mean these guys are SPECIAL. Day in and day out, the individuals that make up the Bagel Chalet team are putting in 110% to make your food perfect. They work effortlessly as a unit with their attention to detail and efficiency. The other day, I was at Bagel Chalet on the Friday after Thanksgiving. The place was packed and as I soon realized, this place is packed every day of the week because of the name brand and the reputation it has put out into the community. I was in line for less than 5 minutes and got my food within 10 minutes of getting there. This is not just a bagel place, this is a staple of the community. There was a certain energy that ran through the place. I tried their flagel with jalapeño cream cheese and it was nothing short of SPECTACULAR. I don't think I've ever had a schmear this good in a long time. The jalapeño cream cheese was flavorful and has a little bit of a kick to it that was refreshing. The flagel was surprisingly large and tasted very fresh. To go along with the flagel, I also got an iced coffee that paired very well it. I will definitely be back as I have also heard amazing things about the pasta and the other items at Bagel Chalet. Might have to be one of the best places on Long Island for bagels.

Burnt lox bagel with almost no lox

My coworkers and I ordered on Uber eats. So cheap with the cream cheese. Bagels were burnt. For the price it was horrible. Never ordering again.

Yummy bagel, but $10 and missing bacon

Bagels are consistently delicious and the best in town. Have ordered from them through the pandemic and couldn't be happier. Thank you!

I got the rainbow cookies, pignolia cookies, and cannolis and we scarfed each of them down. They were delicious! My favorite this from here is their prosciutto bread. They were out of the one from the bakery section but had some in the fridge. We heated them in the oven and it was just as good and only about $6-7 for each. Highly recommend!

My brother in law tells me, they opened a place called Pino's in Dix Hills! Nah, can't be the place. Sure enough, "Pino's" is the new location of Salpino's in Dix Hills! Is it really Dix Hills? It's so close to Huntington and my wife went to walt whitman high school. This stripmall back in the day, my father in law would get bagels and the NY Times every Sunday. To have this beautiful market in the old Pathmark spot warms my heart. We swung by on a Saturday to check out the new digs. The new location is big, there's a large deli counter, bakery section and meat department making homemade sausages. My wife starts shopping and zeros in on a few items like fresh lamb sausages? I see frozen pizzas from Italy (that's on sale) and grab two for late nite snacks with my sons. I order at the deli two heroes, Son of a Peach and the The Crispy Caprese sandwich. The counterperson tells me, its going to take a while to prep, he has to fry the tomatoes. I'm not in a rush, take your time young man! While we're waiting, another deli guy tells us to try the pastrami at the other end of the counter. He's slicing it up now. Be still my heart. The pastrami? Man.. I loved it. I was just at Katz (They used my picture on Yelp for a few months), there's no need to make a comparison. It's an Italian deli. I think the pastrami was very good and we brought a nice amount home. Interesting, I was told Mr. Salpino himself was slicing the pastrami?? I just dig that, my dad owned a supermarket in the Hamptons and I know how proud he's feeling opening a new location. Back to sandwiches! Son of a Peach sandwich? 10 Yelp stars. packed with Prosciutto, arugula, burrata, Sicilian peaches and finished with a hot honey drizzle. It's by far my favorite sandwich. The Crispy Caprese sandwich, breaded and fried mozzarella and breaded and fried tomatoes with a pesto drizzle. My wife and I each take a bite, wow. Just wow. Killer sandwich and here's something I have to mention. Pino's is using quality ingredients, that's why their sandwiches pop. My niece is home from college, I picked up dessert for the night at the bakery section. Lobster tails stuffed, each stuffed with cannoli cream, pistachio cream and custard. C'mom now! so soo good! Here's the thing about any Italian market. The people are so friendly. The woman checking us out is answering questions and telling us about the catering they offer. Pino's? You totally rocked it. Welcome to Huntington! (Eh, Dix hills) Now come to Stony Brook

They also have 5 other locations across Suffolk County & 1 in Queens. The restaurant is small with just enough dine in seating for about 12 customers. Service was excellent from the start of ordering our meals to an employee bringing out the food to our table. We asked the cashier for recommendations to try, and we were not disappointed. We got 2 of their combos, which comes with your choice of any cheesesteak, fries (or other side), and a free drink. We opted for their best seller cheesesteaks- the Chiddy's Signature and Citi Fielder. The Citi Fielder was your traditional cheese steak with just meat, onions and whiz. The Chiddy's Signature included onions, peppers & mushrooms with a mix of provolone and whiz. Both cheesesteaks were cooked to perfection with amazing flavor enough to compete with any original cheesesteaks from Philadelphia. You can satisfy your cheesesteak cravings without making the long trip to Philly by going to a Chiddy's location in NY. We also got a large homemade chili and mozzarella sticks to snack on for later. The chili was flavorful & cooked to perfection with a little spicy kick to keep your taste buds guessing. A good chili usually has more meat than beans, which should always be the standard & that's what they got here. One downside is not having crackers to go with the chili, but the flavor makes up for that. The mozzarella sticks were crispy & cheesy, but there was no dipping sauce to go along with them. Either way, highly recommend.

Looking for a burger, I picked the Zen burger which was not listed as having walnuts. I even called the restaurant to confirm this burger was nut free. When I bit into this burger, within 30 seconds, I realized something was wrong when my lips started swelling up and my throat started to close in. My husband called the restaurant back and again asked if the zen burger had walnuts. I was assured that it did not. When I said, please go ask the kitchen, the person on the phone did and confirmed, "oh, it does have a little bit of walnuts in it". I don't think that the people working here understood the severity of this and they offered a refund of the meal that we threw away. Wow, how generous! I spoke to the manager and she just said sorry and that the owner would contact us. We wound up having to go to the hospital over this, after just leaving with our newborn. What a day. It's been a week and my husband has stopped by the talk to the owner but she hasn't been there and has not called, emailed, or done anything since. I don't care if she is busy, it honestly doesn't matter, this is important and I needed some reassurance that this would never happen again to anyone since someone else could have died from this but that never happened. I guess she is just too busy to care. Unfortunately, this is a local business that I used to love but I will never come back and would advise anyone with a food allergy to go somewhere else. The next day they did update the menu and the zen burger now does say "contains walnuts" but it's not reassuring that this will never happen again.
