Bagels don't taste as good as they used to and have shrunken in size to almost half of what they used to be. Ordering a Taylor Ham, egg and cheese is a joke! One egg, one slice of cheese and two measly slices of Taylor Ham that are almost as thick as a slice of paper! And yet they keep raising the prices but are skimping on the quality and product. I found a much better bagel place that charges the same and the quality and quantity is much better! Sadly, I will not be returning to Bagel City Grille anymore.

The bagels have a very thin crust, with no more crisp than a dinner roll. Inside, the dough is light with a slight chew and some subtlety of flavor that develops during its rise. The woman at the cash register called my number and when I went to the counter, she wanted my ticket. I told her I left it on the table. She refused to give me my order until I returned with the ticket, which I did. Next, my wife asked her for a refill of coffee. The woman refused. Chester Bagel has a self-serve coffee dispenser so customers can get free refills. Marilyn's Cafe and Chester Diner servers come to our table and refill our coffee. I think it is totally inappropriate and rude to treat customers in the manner which we were treated. We will gladly take our business elsewhere. We deserved better after spending high prices but get low service.

Rainy miserable day today so since I had a rainy miserable ten hour work session at home day ahead, I stopped by. Now I'm not some bagel aficionado but one lady next to me on line who looked like she knew from bagels. She cheerfully regaled the weary line by raving she can't find any good bagels in Connecticut so when she's in Chatham town, she loads up on these. True to her word, she left with a sack of 'em. She had also ordered ahead but waited in line anyway - polite is fantastic. Guy next to her on line engaged her about Fairfield Connecticut where his son went to college. He crowed in a friendly way that his son encountered "like minded people" at the local college m and that was soon followed by mentioning Wall Street jobs and his son's "sugar momma".
