I stopped in to get some NY bagels before hopping on the road back to FL. I have not had bagels from here for close to 20 years! I used to hang out in Bayside all the time but as I became older, I was nit in the area so much. There is a better place in the area, that is closer to my parents', that I have been going to all this time instead. This lag time I visited, I was in the plaza to ship something and was headed back to FL right after. I was home for almost 2 months and did not have the chance to order bagels to bring back to FL so Bagel Club was the stop this time. I went on a weekday afternoon and it was dead. Upon walking in, I noticed the refrigerators filled with drinks and bagel toppings. Some which made me smile because I realized they were only sold in NYC and made more sad I had to go back to FL. I was greeted and offered help but not right away or without distractions. There were three kids behind the counter. I ordered a dozen bagels to go, which were a mix of everything, cinnamon raisin, and sesame. I also ordered an everything bagel toasted with lite cream cheese to eat with my slice of pizza before we hopped on the road. It took longer than I expected but not horrible. Holy crap the prices were high here! The bagel was good, but not as good as my usual spot. Still way better than any shit they call NY bagels in FL of course! read more

Past couple times that we have been ordering at this establishment we have been disappointed. I believe the staff has a had a huge turnover; the staff could be friendlier and more tentative. However they got our orders wrong again. Plain bagel vs Flat everything bagel but this time I went back and they corrected it (which they were adamant that they gave me the correct order until I showed them the paid receipt, and still no apologies) For the regular size bagels they have literally shrunk?! However, the flat bagels were good. The bagels seems much flatter than usual. We ordered: toasted vegetable, scallion and pimento/olive toasted bagels and all the ordered we hardly were able to taste or bits of the flavorful cream cheeses, it felt more like regular cream cheese (not so fresh), which happened more than once! The iced coffee completely milked down and felt like milk and water vs ice coffee. This was extremely disappointing. read more

Ordered bagels to take home since our neighborhood bagel shop was closed (I think it's closed forever). It was so bad. It just tasted like bread. Didn't have the chewy exterior nor the soft inside. I asked how much a bacon egg n cheese was n they told me $8.70, which I think is ridiculous because standout places like Pardon My Sub charge $6.50 or Dom's Deli in New Hyde Park charge $5.95 (and both places give a packed sandwich that is very filling and can even be shared by 2 people). This place is close to my house, but every time I come here I regret it. Their system for helping customers is the most inefficient I've ever seen. You have to line up twice: once to place the order and then again to receive the order and pay. (There is no reason they could not take payment at the time the order is placed -- the person taking the order is directly behind the cash register.) So instead of being able to grab your order when it's ready and leave, you have to continue to stand around to give them your money. It's even worse when you order and pay ahead of time because there is no separate pickup area to get helped quickly. Instead, you have to stand in the normal line or float around hoping someone will help you out (no one ever offers to). They are also totally disorganized and will leave pickup bags at various spots behind the counter, and sometimes do not even bring them out from the kitchen, so when you arrive and ask for your order they have to go hunt for it. Completely defeats the purpose of ordering in advance. Can't stand it. Food quality is mediocre, and unsurprisingly, they are slow to complete orders despite having a bunch of staff behind the counter. read more

The bagels are okay but nothing mind blowing. I've been here a few times and I find that the bagels are very inconsistent: sometimes they're yummy and fresh, while other times they're dense and hard. I once got a bagel that was so thin I thought I had accidentally ordered the flat bread. The workers are friendly but service is on the slower side. There are 4 people behind the counter and many times they all would disappear. They each take a customer's order THEN make that order! Wtf?! There really should be two people designated on the grill, one person designated to making coffees and grabbing the bagels for the grill, and one person taking orders and ringing customers up. It's was so bad! 30 mins waiting in line then another 5 minutes to get my sandwich. This is New York for goodness sake. The line was long too. Especially after me. Had my first bialy here and it was excellent. I ordered a plain lox with scallion cream cheese. They are located in a small shopping strip and there is a dining area outside with a shared free parking lot. Lobby area is spacious but with the current set up there is little room for a line which led to confusion for customers that was trying to find where the line began for placing orders. Store is clean, and everyone wore their mask properly. Highly recommend, looking forward to my next bialy. read more

I like the "Flat Bagels" - A bit disappointed; They could do quite a bit better. Service - especially during the busy morning hours is slow. I suppose the owners don't want to pay to have sufficient staffing. Bagels are OK; They sort of have a limited selection of "Extra Stuff" like Fresh Fruits Etc. Etc. I get anxiety going into this store. It's crowded only because of its location, not its quality. One time, I waited almost 30 mins for 4 bagels and a pound of creme cheese. There is no "line starts here" so everyone is standing around randomly and you don't know who's been served or not so you have to ask customers. And the friendly staff: They shout NEXT! with pusses on their faces. Once I placed my order, and they gave me blueberry muffins instead of bagels. I go back to the store, and I get an angry face and then I'm handed my bagels without a sorry for your inconvenience. Another time, I'm placing my order and the server interrupts me with a curt WHAT?
