Great place to eat. Menu has a good variety of appetizers, breakfast and lunch items to choose from however, the descriptions all sound very good so it's difficult to choose. Their burritos are hardy, buffalo chicken sandwich is great as well as the TAB sandwich. We Look forward to going back and trying other entrées. They are dog friendly; you do have to sit in the exterior patio. I would suggest them adding an exterior fans if they continue to not offer umbrellas on their tables. read more

I'm was in town for a birthday celebration and this spot popped up on my search for some good food. I had Chicken and Waffles. The chicken was very flavorful and the waffles were fluffy and soft. I also had the option of Honey hot syrup or regular maple. Be bold and add egg and sausage gravy. They did not disappoint me at all...the service was amazing from beginning to the end. Recently bought a gift card for a friend, and was told a 10 percent fee would be added for the kitchen staff. I have worked in the food industry for over 39 years, all corporate and have NEVER heard of this before. I questioned this practice and the bartender did take off the fee. Working in the area and I heard great things about Brunches and thought I'd try them out. This is my second visit this week. Both times the food was fantastic! I had the chicken bacon quesadilla both times; but it was quite tasty!! Ordered with the firecracker sauce instead of the ranch and a side of sour cream. The firecracker sauce is FIRE!!! Thai chili sauce with pineapple juice, the perfect spice and sweet. What ruined my adventures was the waitstaff. The first time, my server very rarely stopped to ask if I needed anything and when I asked for stuff, I never got it. The second time, my server acted like I was inconveniencing her and when I asked to change the quesadilla, the look on her face... The food is great; the service not so much. Maybe locals are treated more nicely...out of towners... All I know, instead of putting them on my list of places to visit the next time I have to work here; I've put them on the list not to... I've been here several times and haven't had any issues until today. I took a bite of my TK sausage and a long blonde hair went in my mouth along with the sausage i have 4c hair so it was not mine. I asked a server to get the manager because I wanted to leave but I just wanted to let someone know why I was leaving. I didnt want a re-made plate, I didn't trust them at that point. She said she would get the manager but I waited another few minutes and no one ever came so I just left. When looking around all of the wait staff have their hair out and many didn't even have ponytails. Hopefully this changes. I won't be back but typically the food is good so I'm disappointed. read more

Brunches!!! What a fun vibe in Wilmington! We took mom for an early Mother's Day! From the moment we walked in and sat down we were warmly greeted! We ordered mimosas and looked over the yummy menu! My sister and I each ordered the breakfast tacos which were excellent!! I ordered a side of breakfast potatoes which were perfectly crispy! The eggs were fluffy and just the right amount of bacon and salsa! The mimosas each hold a half a bottle of champagne! Are you kidding me?! So so good!! I used to recommend Brunches as a solid breakfast spot, but after my last visit, that's changed. My girlfriend and I went on Labor Day around 10:20, were seated quickly, and ordered Shrimp & Grits, the By the Sea Omelet, and a kids' meal to go. The food was hit or miss -- Shrimp & Grits were tasty but small, and the By the Sea Omelet had only a few shrimp and a dab of crab, with way too much bacon. Service was slow throughout, and even though we ordered before the table next to us, their food arrived first. When it came to the to-go meal, things really went downhill. We were told it would be "right out," but 40 minutes later we were still waiting. Our waitress apologized and explained her tablet had gone offline, which caused the order to be missed. That part was understandable, but even after acknowledging it, it took another 40 minutes to get a simple kids' meal. What made it worse was the manager's response -- no apology, no ownership, just a dismissive "we took $7 off" as if that fixed the problem. For a kids' meal to take nearly an hour and for management to not care was incredibly frustrating. The waitress at least tried, but the manager's lack of concern left a bad impression. I won't be recommending Brunches anymore. If you want a better breakfast, I'd suggest Blueberry Grill instead. read more

Stopped in for breakfast on a Monday morning while in town. We just missed the early bird special of 20% off Monday through Friday. But, no matter. Food was still great and still worth it even missing the discount. It was busy and very lively here in the Mayfaire center location. It was across the street from my hotel, so very convenient. We enjoyed a build your own omelette and the avocado toast. The portions are very large here. I almost couldn't finish my avocado toast, but it was so yummy, I certainly did! It is on a croissant so it is extra filling, plus, it is slathered with guacamole then the eggs and more sliced avocado on the side. The arugula on top is a nice touch! Husband wanted mushrooms in his omelette but was informed they didn't have them. That's something to maybe add to the menu? Pretty common omelette ingredient, I think. Anyway, he was able to get spinach and cheese, so he said it was very tasty. Prices are great here. You get a good amount of food for the money. Very nice staff as well. Very friendly people. UPDATE: The manager admitted (and apologized by phone) about the incident. He admitted they shouldn't have offered to serve as it was too close to 3PM. Sad! In saving themselves one more meal to serve they now lost customers for good. -------------- I've been to this establishment about 5 or 6 times now since my first visit about ten months ago. Each time it's been a different experience and it's been downhill since. This most recent visit though warranted my review updated because I'd had enough. This most recent visit we were a larger group with 5 children under10 and 2 adults. 2 children being neurodiverse. While it's not my most favorite eatery , we chose this establishment because they had outdoor larger seating to accommodate the children and my youngest wanted to celebrate his birthday there. We should've known when the two young girls checking us in said "we need to get your food order in by 3 to be able to serve you" that this experience would be like some of the more recent visits I've heard others had here." But our full party was there about 2:50 and we were seated outside. We all scrambled to get orders in order and while trying to do this the waitress (heavier girl with skin tight bright blue leggings) came over and opened up the dialogue with "I can't take any alcoholic drink orders anymore it's too late" at first we don't hear her because the kids are telling us what they want and we look up. No greeting. No hello I'm so and so etc... she repeated "no alcoholic beverages" to which I replied "that's fine". We each gave our drink orders and as she started to walk away my friend said we were also ready to order since it was not only 5 min to 3, advising what we were told by the check in girls. She goes around the table taking orders and we rushed through. By time it got to me I asked her a question about the valentines pancakes for my little one being a short stack and she explained they can't accommodate that for the specials. So I opted for the kids plain breakfast version instead. We just made it to her by 3 and she left. A couple of min, if that, this guy (African American young guy) comes over and says "I'm sorry but you will not be able to eat here today. You made my server cry." I turned to my friend and said "oh no we missed the deadline?" He then repeats "no. You made my server cry and she's very upset at how rude she was treated." Now we are all, kids included, staring at this guy confused. I said, "us? This table?" He says "yes. I'm sorry but today you will not be able to eat here. And we will have to ask you to leave per our policy." My friend was upset as she's the sweetest person and asked how that's possible. She offered to apologize to the server directly if us rushing the orders to make the 3 maybe got her upset but truth be told she looked perfectly fine to me. Never once said anything. At this point it was clear either (1) they couldn't get the order in to be cooked and were now stuck or (2) this server is in the wrong business if THIS group upset her. They were all children under 10 and yes, loud, but to cry over it? Good luck in the challenges of life. Then this (assuming a) manager comes over as if he's waited his entire brunches employment to be able to use his script for this moment doesn't even bother to hear my friend out. I felt this was about the fact they couldn't serve us by 3. So I took to a local Facebook group about the situation and shocker... others have experienced this at this exact same location. Ironically one had similar time line and when a crowd was rambunctious children. Again, not my fave eatery so I was fine leaving but it was utter ridiculousness. On way out those two young girls in the time of 'hostesses' turn and look at the window to say goodbye with that I'm sorry time- so we naturally figured this was all about the fact they likely took in patrons too close to cut off. read more

I really hate to leave a bad review, BUT I am a long time loyal customer and I was really disappointed today. I went to this location in Mayfaire. First of all the water tasted like chlorox. It was undrinkable. Secondly, their stable menu items have been altered for the worst. Their avocado toast used be served with delivered delicious lemon greens. Now they don't have them at all. The toast had the crust cut off which I thought was just odd, and used to have avo smear with slices of avocado and a sunny side up egg on top. Now, it's only a smear of guacamole, no actual avo, drenched in balsamic glaze which was super overpowering, feta, grape tomatoes and pickled onion. It just wasn't good. Way too much going on. And the egg was 3$ too add! The Carolina sunrise was still good but also altered a bit and just not what it used to be. There used to be way more kick and hot honey. This avo toast ruined my day lol. Unfortunately I won't be back. Hopefully the BLT is still good.. read more

We ordered the pouches (basically cocktail Capri Sun). $16 ea, and filled with ice. I liked the candy decorations on the drink though. 3/5. We ordered the mimosa sliders $19 for 4 shots. 2/5, again, nothing to write home about. My friend ordered the truffle mushroom burger 3/5. She enjoyed it, but it was pretty small. Looked like a McDonald's burger. I ordered the brisket sandwich. 4/5, the seasoned fries it came with were amazing! Someone ordered us 2 gummy shots, the bartender didn't know how to make it (which he informed us) and ended up charging us for them and not the person who ordered it. 1/5, the shot was disgusting . It was all cheap peach schnapps. All in all, I enjoyed myself. The service wasn't bad, we made new friends, and the food was decent. I would come back to try more food. Wow, this place was packed!! A friend of mine had recommended it to me, so four of us had lunch yesterday. We arrived about 11:30am and figured the wait would be very long. We put our names on the list and was told "25 minutes." We only waited about 20 minutes and got a table inside. It's a very noisy place, which made it difficult to talk to our friends. Had it not been a hot day we would have asked to sit outside. I really liked the menu - lots of good choices. I ordered the buritto bowl that came with chicken, black beans, rice, slices of avocado, lettuce, diced tomatoes, and grilled onions. The chicken, which was grilled, had some awesome flavors, but it was a little on the dry side. Later in the day, I felt so bloated from the rice beans - and I didn't eat all of it. DH had the tuna wrap, which looked beautiful. He enjoyed it. If I were to order it, I would ask it to be cut in half, rather than the way it's served - cut into six sections. He stated there was too much rice for the meal. Rice in the wrap, and the sections on top of rice. Maybe an Asian salad would be better. One friend ordered a burger and the other had a breakfast bowl (I don't which ones they ordered). They both enjoyed their food, although my friend's bowl had a ton of potatoes. Friendly service and we got our food in a timely manner despite the place being full. I definitely will go back and try something else on the menu. read more

Came in around mid morning not too busy but got busier as lunch crowd was moving in. They have outdoor seating but I decided on indoors for ac! What a cool friendly fun place! I say that because it's got a fun friendly vibe with staff and decor.. it's a brunch spot so they have mimosas and great combos for breakfast and lunch. I had best waitress.. Meagan! She took great care of me.. didn't rush me and we even had great quick conversation! Ok so I ordered breakfast tacos and side of bacon and cheese grits! So good! Eggs cooked perfect ! Some scrambled eggs are runny or overcooked these were perfect and had bacon and pick and avacado.. so good! Grits were not runny and creamy and delicious! Very happy with my choices but they had so many good things on menu to choose from! They had mimosas on menu too but I had to go to doc appt so not today or I totally would! I love good mimosa!! They even had shirts that said mimosas made me do it!! So cute!!
