But with Covid and a pregnant wife we try to do what we can to avoid risk. At 1034 am today there were a total of 4 people in the entire restaurant. On top of that. Being rude didn't help either. The previous employee told me to call when I get there so they can bring my food out to me. I call when I arrive. "Hi I'm here for curb side pick up" rude lady "No come in" and hangs up the phone. Really really upset. I usually love this place but I'm not sure if I'll go back after today. I go in and place my to go order and the girl who took my order was probably new because I had to repeat my order a few times. Which is fine I'm patient and understand that you will have new people training. So afterwards I leave to sit waiting on my to go order and I wait and wait and wait. 30 min passes by and go up to see what's going on because it's never taken this long for one bagel and a muffin to be ready.i go back up to three counter to ask about my order and this guy that is usually there in the mornings helps me out. At first he couldn't find my order. I had to show him the charge on my card to prove that I placed an order. Then him and the girl that originally helped me tried looking for the paper slip to my order. Turns out my order was lost. The girl taking my order probably lost the slip with my order to give to the kitchen. By this time it's been about 40 min and I really need to get to work. I tell the guy who helped with my missing order that I need to get going so he made my order quickly and gave it to me. He apologized but it wasn't even his fault. I just am upset because the girl who made the mistake didn't even apologize. So here I leave with a bagel and a muffin in hand 50 min later and rushing to work so I wouldn't be late. The bagel wasn't even toasty because it had to be rushed. To be honest, I only waited so long in the beginning because I figured they were maybe making more bagels or something and I didn't want to be one of those people who asks for an order when it isn't ready. Any place that serves breakfast until 4pm is A-OK in my book. I've driven past this place dozens of times, but never have gone inside until this past weekend. My girlfriend and I were headed to Zov's but they apparently are remodeling the cafe part, and I'm not bling bling enough for the bistro end. So, she told me about Bagel Me. Definitely a good decision. This casual bagel shop has a dozen or small tables, so once you order you can sit down, snag a newspaper, and sip coffee while you wait for the food. I ordered an egg, cheese, and sausage breakfast bagel. At $5 it seemed a little pricey for a bagel (I'm really thrifty lately, car insurance bill came in), but it was large enough to justify the price, and it was damn good! I also had coffee (of which they have three varieties you can choose from), and split a cinnamon bagel as well. Too much food (had to save 1/2 of my breakfast bagel), but so good. Definitely recommended it and I'll be visiting them again. read more

If you haven't visited this place recently the first thing that will strike you is the missing tables that were there before. My first thought was that the recession has hit this place hard. Later I found out that due to the Nazi regime of Tustin (member of Hitler's Fourth Reich of Orange County) they forced the owner of Bagel Me! to reduce the amount of seating to be proportionate to number private parking spaces they provide. As you know, the lot can only fit about 8 cars so most of the time you are forced to park on the street or the neighboring plaza. Been coming here every Sunday for the past few months because the bagels and cream cheese are so good, but the customer service needs a major improvement. Each time we come here after ordering our food and my smoothie, we receive our food in a timely manner, but nobody has even started the smoothie. It's usually never busy when we go and when we look over the associates are just standing around talking. And this happens EVERY time we go. We still went because the food is good, but after today I'm done. When after about 15 minutes of waiting for my smoothie, my boyfriend walks up and lets them know we're still waiting on the smoothie. The girl questioned him in a rude manner (when she's the one who took our order) and then walked away to make it. By far the laziest employees of any business I've seen. How hard is it to make a smoothie in a timely manner? And every single time we go. I'd understand if it were busy and I'm a very patient person, but after many MANY times of this continuously happening, I'm fed up. Is there a manager on duty Sundays? If so, they need to keep their employees in check so that they're not standing around talking or staring off into space. The only reason this isn't a 1 star review is because of the bagels and cream cheese. Mac Donald's of bagel places. This was so disgusting I had to take it back. After waiting over 20 min for my food (there was only 1 order in front of me) I take my bagel "Melt" home just to turn around and bring it back. I live only 5 min away and the food was so cold by the time I got there it must have been served that way, the cheese was slimy, the bacon was dry and looked just like Mac Donald's, and to top it off the tomatoes were yellow. Bagel Me is not how I remember them. The first and only time I had it was probably about 10 years ago now and when I walked in this morning, I thought, "This is not what I thought it would be." Bagels sit in self-serve bins much like the ones you find in supermarkets. There are bins all the way to the floor which to me feels a little unsanitary because kids can just reach under and stick their sticky fingers in there. The service was not as good as my wheat bagel. I love their bagels! I believe that they are the best around and worth a try! There is nothing better then when going to grab a bagel, to find that it is warm. It does not get any fresher than that! My only issue is with customers actually. Bagel Me provides tissue paper to pick the bagels up with from the individual bins that they are stored in. Get the BURGER SPECIAL. Yes, I said burger. It's steal at $4.99 with fries. The freshly made bun is between a bagel and a regular burger bun. It's soft, chewy and they butter one side and let it brown on the griddle for some nice crunchy contrast. The burger patty is extremely fresh. You can tell from the un-uniform shape of the patty (just like you would make at home), it's thick and super juicy when you bite into it. They also use the obligatory secret sauce, but there's something about it that makes it better than most. I've had many many burgers in my day and I'm proud to say this may be the best burger I've ever had; In-N-Out comes second; The Counter would be third. Definitely something I didn't expect from a place specializing in bagels. Oh, whatever you do, do NOT get the burger with cheese, it will kill it. Their cheese is too oil based and not creamy like In-N-Out's. Besides, you don't need it anyway. Their bagels are addicting too; particularly the everything bagel. The service at this place is bad. Ive been here 3 times last month. I usually get my food to go and i ordered before 4 other groups. All of them gottn their food before mine was even started. I have never actually been inside of Bagel Me, I have only enjoyed the fruits of other's bagel run labors. That only serves to make my heart fonder towards Bagel Me. And damn these are some delicious bagels! Sometimes they arrive at work all warm and steamy and soft still. The jalepeno cheese seems to be the big hit, but I stick to the everything bagels or the plain bagels with strawberry cream cheese. The glazer bagels are just too sweet for me. I think everyone else at work agrees, because there are always more of these left than any other kind of bagel. Every month on the last day of the month, we have Month End Bagel Madness! I've been a patron of Bagel Me for years, today they disappointed me and it was so preventable. I'm a guy that likes my bagel toasted crunchy, after ordering my coffee and jalapeño and cheese bagel I asked for it to be toasted brown and accompanied with light cream cheese. It took 15 minutes to be delivered, although clearly roasted brown, it appears that there was several minutes between the toasting a leaving the bagel hard as a rock and it wasn't even hot. Kinda bummed and hope the staff learns from this. When you spend almost $6 on a bagel and small coffee you have a higher expectation than what was delivered today. There's just something about Bagel Me... Firstly, the bagels are superb. They are big and soft and there's any flavor you could ever want with the perfect cream cheese to match. Two of my personal favorites are the Glazer (cinnamon sugar) toasted with butter and the Cheese Onion bagel with cream cheese. I guess I have simple tastes. There are also a bunch of delicious bagel sandwich options. I've never been a big fan of sandwiches on plain bread, but put it on a bagel and I'm in heaven! The smoothies are also my favorite of any that I've had. And I consider myself a bit of a smoothie connoisseur so this is kind of a big deal. My all-time fave is the Watermelon Shooter (watermelon, strawberries, yogurt) and a close second is the Morning Glory (peaches, banana, honey, yogurt), but I've never had a smoothie here I didn't like. I'm sad about what happened to this location with the reduced seating. They deserve as many customers as can fit so it's a major bummer that they can't fit as many now. It all has to do with limited parking which is ridiculous because I always park across the street anyway. (Shh. Don't tell the City of Tustin on me!) Oooohhhh, yum! I have a new favorite bagel shop. I've been a devoted Noah's/Einstein's fan for many years now but decided to check out Bagel Me after reading the positive reviews here on Yelp. Plus it's closer to my house than Einstein's on Main. It was a risky move, but I ordered the french toast bagel since I love french toast and it sounded intriguing. They say the greater the risk, the greater the reward, and boy did it pay off this time! It's their version of french toast, but made with an egg bagel. It really did taste like french toast...a bit eggy, a hint of cinnamon and sugar, and very moist without being soggy. Slather it with butter and it was all I could've wished for. Also came with a side of syrup and apple compote. My hubby ordered the egg, tomato, avocado and cheese melt on an everything cheese bagel. Melted cheese, scrambled egg, avocado and tomato slices. The portions are very generous since they serve the bagel open faced with toppings on both halves. It looked fresh and delicious and my husband confirmed that it was far superior to Bruegger's and Einstein's. The menu is quite varied with every possible bagel sandwich or creation you can imagine as well as smoothies. I went on a Saturday morning around 10 a.m. and the place was busy but not crowded. The food is good, some is even better than good. The place seems clean to me from my side of the counter. Everything is well presented and stocked, except tissues to grab bagels and bags when it busy.. but that's just normal Unsatisfactory customer service, I don't come here much. The staff isn't unpleasant, it's just apathetic, slow. I had to ask them if I could have my smoothie WITH my meal because the last few times I didn't get it till I reminded them after my burger. Also they bring out your burger, but not your smoothie, they don't even call out your number or name or drink to let you know its ready... It just sits on the counter till you realize they only bring out food not drinks, its hard to tip well when this confusing protocol comes off that forgetfulness or simply not caring. Specially if you combine that with when they mess up your order. Thing is, they are slow and come off apathetic even when you are the only customer in the shop. Anyhow, its not terrible service.. just inconvenient, so I don't come here often... Only when I have pleanty of time, and I'm craving a smoothie or a bagel. This is the worst place to have bagels. Save yourself the money and go anywhere else. I paid $38 for four bagels and one Rice Krispie treat this morning around 8 am. The bagels are so old and dry we can't eat them. They also managed to burn these stale bagels as you can see from the pictures. You can't swallow this crap. I really *want* to like this place. It's located conveniently near my house, and I really like Nutty Monkey bagel. However, the mediocre management has finally gotten to me. For a while, I thought I could put up with the 15 minute wait (even at 7:30AM on Sunday when it's practically empty!) to get bagel with peanut butter and bananas on it. Today was the last straw, when early in the shift (7:30AM on a Sunday) they informed me "for some reason we don't have any bananas." Is keeping a stock of bananas *that* difficult? Then they just asked if I still wanted it or a refund. I was hoping they could have made a suggestion like "we can put x on it instead." Maybe this seems ridiculous, but my standards are fairly high when I'm paying $4 for a bagel. I love that this place is within walking distance from my place. We usually go here on the weekends for a late bfast. I love the whole wheat glazer! I'd say we've been coming here once a week for years and the same staff seems to not recognize us time and time again. I'm no celebrity but how about some solid customer service?
