I don't usually go there to buy sandwiches as i always buy a Baker's Dozen. My bagels are always fresh to eat and their selection of cream cheeses are great for a small establishment. For a quick grab and go, this is the place. As for the complaints, they are from chronic complainers who are too quick to judge! I am going to miss this place a lot. Fantastic bagel. Probably the best in Queens. I cannot say for sure though because I don't go many other places nearby for bagels. I recently was in NY and was lucky enough to have tried Bagel Oasis. I hadn't had an authentic NY bagel and they did not disappoint. We actually had bagels from them 3 times while we were there. I especially enjoyed their everything bagel with lox cream cheese and one of my sons really enjoyed the scallion and bacon cream cheese he had on his bagel. I've been coming to this bagel place for 10 years now and the food is consistently amazing. My tastes have changed over the years and I've ordered probably everything on the menu. I would have easily given 5 stars but unfortunately the service isn't as consistently good as the quality of food. I've learned to be very specific about my order and even go over it with them before they start putting everything together but even with doing that I've left with incorrect orders multiple times and for the fact that I live in manhattan and don't get to come here often 2 out of 2 times I've ordered in the last week while visiting family in bayside my order was mixed up/ not as requested. Being a lifetime customer Im sad to say I will never be coming back thanks to the worker who always has headphones on and makes it a point to look down on customers especially the few times I don't give him a tip. When people say NY bagels are good, I didn't think people were referring to a bagel place all the way out in Fresh Meadows. I haven't really tried many other bagel places in Queens, but Bagel Oasis does really good bagels. Definitely come in the morning, as all the bagels are all freshly made. I've tried the light vegetable spread, lox spread, bacon cream cheese, and all of these flavors I would recommend again. The bagels are all super stuffed with cream cheese and toasted perfectly. I really do hate this place. When I started going there I used to like the service and the bagels. It was hard to get a hold of the Tofu Cream Cheese but when they did have it, it was delicious. My issue with this place is that there is always something wrong with the order even if you repeat and they reiterate. If you call for the order to be picked up, be prepared to stand on the order line once again when you get there. You would think that your order is ready, have a separate cashier. Then, they tell you this with sassiness in their tone. I give the bagels 4.5 stars. Half the staff is pretty quick and reliable, the rest, not so much.
