Update: IF YOU HAVE FOOD ALLERGIES DO NOT EAT HERE. This is my second time having a terrible experience. Since delivery was so bad last time, I went to the actual store this time. I ordered some gluten free bagels (I have celiac) along with some regular bagels (my husband does not have celiac), a quarter lb of lox, and cream cheese. The GF bagels were thrown right in the same bag as the regular bagels, cross-contaminating them. I couldn't eat them and had to throw them out! Waste of money. The person who took my order misheard me and gave me lox cream cheese. No one bothered to double check that they had the order correct. Terrible customer service and a SERIOUS health risk. What if these bagels were brought to a party and taken out of the bags and placed on separate trays? Someone with celiac would never have known and gotten very sick. It makes me wonder what kinds of other cross contamination issues this place has going on. Update: the owner contacted me after reading this review to get to the bottom of the issue. She was kind and professional about the matter. Hopefully my experience was a one time incident. Ordered from here and said it would take 40-50 minutes. Took an hour and 20 minutes by which time my food was soggy and my bagel was disintegrating. When I called to complain they said there was nothing they could do. read more

Vegetarians take caution! I got a tub of jalapeño cheddar cream cheese to go for my boyfriend and came home to find pieces of salmon in it! My boyfriend is vegetarian so he couldn't eat it and the whole tub is going to waste. Will try again. Ordered a chicken and prosciutto sandwich and a coffee. It came to $17? The sandwich was huge so that's fine but it tasted awful. The chicken was bland and dry and tasted old. I wound up eating mozzarella, balsamic soaked bread, and a little prosciutto for lunch. I wrote my initial review and the owner contact me right away apologizing. Bagel Pub opened about the time I moved to the neighborhood just about three years ago now, and I have watched with pleasure as it has turned into a neighborhood institution. I enjoy Bagel Pub almost every weekend, and I have never been disappointed. Bagel Pub cooks some of the most delicious bagels in the city, and they have great egg sandwich and cream cheese options, as well. Also - the fresh squeezed juices are delicious! If you're there for lunch, the sandwiches (either on a bagel or a roll) are made with fresh ingredients and are very filling! The service is very reliable, and all of the folks behind the counter are friendly and helpful. Though it can get crowded on weekend mornings, the line moves pretty quickly and they work hard to get your food ready as quickly as possible. I bring all my friends and family to Bagel Pub whenever they visit town, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great breakfast! read more

I love this place and highly recommend it! There are so many great coffee shops and bagel places in Park Slope that it's difficult to find one that really stands out or has a factor of differentiation. I really love that Bagel Pub offers fresh juices and wheatgrass/ginger shots as well as traditional breakfast options. You rarely find a place where you can get an egg and cheese and a great juice under the same roof, but you often want one after the bagel :) The staff here is really friendly and every time I order online or via Grubhub for pickup the order is timely and waiting for me- still fresh. They even put wrapping on the drinks to make sure they don't spill inside the bag. I got a large cold pressed ice coffee, a juice (beet, ginger, apple and carrot) and an egg everything bagel with lox and cream cheese (added onion/tomato). Everything was amazing and the quality of the lox is superb! Can't wait to try the whitefish and will probably by the lox by pound in the future. Will definitely be back as this is becoming my regular spot. read more

FOOD POISONING/VOMITING: My boyfriend ordered a tuna sandwich here yesterday (1/6/19). He ate about half of it, instantly started to feel nauseous, stopped and went to the bathroom, where he spent the rest of the night vomiting. It was the only thing he ate yesterday; I'm glad that I didn't order anything. I called Bagel Pub right away this morning to let them know what happened and to tell them to throw away that tuna so no one else goes through what he did. (He was vomiting for a couple of hours.) The woman who answered the phone simply said "The manager is on vacation this week and is not reachable." There was no sense of urgency about taking care of the tuna so others don't get sick. She didn't even ask who we were or specifically which tuna dish he had ordered. She didn't ask for *any* details, actually. Just said, "OK, well the manager is away on vacation this week." So much nonchalance about food safety. DO NOT EAT HERE unless you want to spend the rest of your evening hugging a toilet!!! This is an excellent place. The bagels are perfect and the cream cheese selection is incredible. Egg sandwiches like the ABC (avocado bacon cheddar - and you can sub turkey bacon or whatever else) are top notch. And the smoothies are GREAT. Coffee is well above average as well. I've only had lunch food once but that was also good. It gets a little crowded on weekends since it's narrow, but I've never waited too long. Staff are friendly. read more

While waiting to pay, overheard employees talking negatively about other employees. Got to the counter to pay and the employees took several minutes to address me. When one of them finally looked at me, he asked "what are you waiting for?". Overall the food was pretty good, coffee was mediocre and the employees were not friendly or professional. read more

Though this doesn't bother me a lot, I have noticed on three separate occasions, the employees handling sandwiches and bagels with their bare hands, or wearing a glove on one hand and touching everything with the other hand. I was really disappointed because it looks really great from outside. Today I went to the post office and decided to try this place and order a burger. First of all the service is really bad, almost non existent. Second, the whole place smell like a barbecue and there were flies all over. I ask them twice for my burger to be made medium and it came well done very dry . The employees don't even care about you, is like a McDonalds kind of service. I won't go again, there's several better quality and much better service places in our neighbourhood and great bagels in several places as well. This place is busy but not crowded, so there is plenty of space for you to pull out your computer and get work done. Everyone here seems really friendly (employees and customers alike). I have been coming here for about a year and a half now and I always enjoy whatever I get. It was probably the best lox bagel I've ever had. My sons ordered an ABC (avocado bacon, and cheese) bagel with plain cream cheese, and a plain bagel with strawberry cream cheese. Someone told me this place had better Bagels than Bagel Hole, so I went out of my way to try. Haven't tried the bagels yet (though they look a little too large), but I have been in line for over five minutes and no one has been helped. So many options and combinations, I doubt you'll be disappointed. Their proteins are extremely fresh tasting and the portion sizes are worth it! I actually haven't had the bagels here (-gasp-) but I get the sandwiches/heroes and they're bomb! You have to order in the back area which is confusing at first but you'll get used to it. Well, bit of a contrarian here. First off -- they are about bagels, and those are quite good. I've only had the sesame bagel, and it was thick, doughy, tasty. I came in at 3pm in the afternoon and they had three people behind the counter, but my bagel w/ eggs & ham took nearly 10 minutes. Maybe they had to fire up the griddle? Their wifi password didn't work, so they just said "sorry" and walked off, so I asked them to call the manager and get it -- which, they did. The interior is weird and encourages you to leave. This matters to me because with a name like "Bagel Pub", I thought we had a really cool new concept/destination in the area! But, no. Part bodega/deli, part coffee shop with tiny tables, and a backyard stuffed to the brim with more. Plastic flowers on the tables, and their wall makes it look like they bought a "snarky coffee shop signs 20-pack" (i.e., the "unattended children will be given espresso & a free kitten" ones). Almost tried a burger -- willing to bet those are good. Iced coffee was, I'd say, "fine". At $3 for a large, I hoped it'd be more like "great!" Sweet Wolf's / Forty Weight it is for me when I want to relax or work on the computer. Cafe Regular for coffee on the go. If I want a bagel on the go, sure, I'll drop by, and see if they can get it out to me in under 10 minutes. read more

The price changes everyday up/down whatever and can vary 50%. No price structure they charge what they think it is-very overpriced for bagels. I don't want to pay $2 for a bagel and butter-maybe if it toasted may be more. Tables are small and every morning they are taken by 10 sanitation workers. read more
