This is a 3.5-star review. I was in the mood for a bagel, and when I searched on Yelp, this was the second one that came up. My wife and I had been here before (about 5 or 6 months ago), so we were familiar with it. You walk in, and it's a typical breakfast/bagel spot. There are some snacks and candy here and there, some drinks along with a few tables and chairs. You'll notice they have a lot of baked goods--muffins, croissants, cookies, turnovers, and more. The staff there is also pretty friendly. We ordered two bagels--one everything and one onion--with cream cheese, a croffle, and also picked up a blonde brownie. When we got home, we noticed that the bagels seemed to be on the smaller side, similar to another well-known bagel place on Utopia, but they lacked that certain "chew" that comes with a bagel. They weren't bad, though. Both were well-covered with the onion or everything mix on the outside. The croffle was more to my liking, with nice flaky layers and some sugar. The blonde brownie was okay as well. Is this my "go-to" bagel spot? Probably not. But I don't mind changing it up every once in a while, especially if I'm in the mood for a croffle or even one of their cookies. read more

Love it ! Ice coffee has coffee ice cubes ! Love the detail in the delicious coffee! Their bagels fresh and you can customize it however you want ! I got a bacon , egg and home fries on it. Delicious will be back ! Service amazing ! Love the minimalist look of the shop. read more

First things first, the bagel was very good. I very much enjoyed it. However, it is on the smaller side. That would be my only real complaint. But overall it eat very good. I ordered through Yelp a plain bagel 2 eggs fried with American cheese but I definitely received over-hard. Not that big of a deal. In just hate the yolk. Parking is non existent. I circled the block 5 times before I decided to just park about 1/4 mile away. That's so annoying to me being from NJ where there's always parking or a parking lot. I even went during off peak hours and it was a cluster f@&k. Anyways, definitely recommend and will be back. read more

Excellent service. First time here, certainly won't be my last. Customer service is very important - the staff and presumably owner welcomed me with huge smiles! Love the energy. The coffee? Im in love with the iced coffee with ice coffee cubes! Finally someone making the effort to take it to the next level! This little shop is great in every way! The attention to detail in the order (at least when you order through yelp, which is how I ordered) is amazing. I like my bagels a little burnt and I was pretty surprised when I saw that that was an option AND it was actually made the way I requested. I got the lox and cream cheese which was perfect in every way and my boyfriend got the country style cream cheese which he really liked too. The staff were very efficient and seemed really nice! Bagel time is bombbb! The best lox and cream cheese ive ever had! They are always consistent and on time with my order. Knocked off a star because of their hours. They close at 5pm during the week. So if I want a salad after work for dinner i wouldnt be able to get it. Theyre also closed on Sundays. How is a BAGEL place closed on a Sunday? I love Bagel Time - It's my go-to choice for grabbing delicious, promptly made breakfast before journeying on short road trips with friends. Want a bacon/sausage/ham, egg, and cheese (aka canigettuh baconeggncheese onaroll?) Check. Want a vegetarian omelette? Check. Coffee, juice, Red Bull (I get all sorts of requests on our road trips)? Check, check, and check. My standard bagel with lox cream cheese has never disappointed and always satisfying. Pair that with their iced coffee, and you've got the perfect duo. Looking for something more? Their selection of omelettes are also delicious and will feed and fuel you. While I only talked about breakfast thus far, they also sell sandwiches for lunch. Admittedly, this is the part of the menu I've yet to discover, but honestly wouldn't doubt if that was stellar as well. Right as I'm checking out, they have these huge, irresistible looking, in your face cookies and muffins that I never walk in intending to purchase but somehow end up leaving with one anyway. Worth it every time. I'm delighted to sing the praises of Bagel Time because the owners and service here is excellent. Happy to be a repeat customer. read more

Went there this morning and asked for fat free scallion cream cheese , they didn't have it then I asked for plain low fat and they didn't have that then i asked for just scallion cream cheese and there were like 4 scallions on the whole bagel and I'm pretty sure the bagels weren't made on premises I won't be going back read more

This place is exactly what I needed working in a not so restaurant busy area this place has everything you'd ever want and the best iced coffee around. Yummmm I love iced coffee. It's nearby my house so I decided to come here to try it out. I only bought their iced coffee so I can't speak for their bagels. Their iced coffee has coffee ice cubes so the iced coffee doesn't become diluted with water. It's a bit sweet for me but it was very good! read more

Dakota's on the Cove has been in my periphery for a while. Up until today, I had not been here…read moresince the space was its former occupant, Ice House. While I had heard mixed things about Dakota's, I wanted to check it out for myself. I had been meaning to catch up with some of my IRL Yelp friends, and thought this would be a great place to meet up - so off we went. Dakota's is located right on the water in Throgg's Neck and provides great views of the marina. The dining area is separated into a front room, bar area, back room, outdoor patio, and a biergarten area. The decor and aesthetics have a nautical vibe - think blues, greys, and whites with lots of clean lines. One of my friends told me that the menu is relatively new, as they got a new chef ~ 2 weeks ago. The menu isn't large, in fact it's somewhat limited in my view; there are a few apps, mains, and sides - but I would like to have seen an expanded salad selection (there are only two on the menu) and a sandwich section, especially given the aesthetics and the fact that they're open for lunch. We decided to start by sharing some apps and one of their salads: the tuna tartare, the mussels, and the specific salad name escapes me but it had feta whip. Everything was very good - the tuna was fresh and came with some thin crostini that provided a welcome contrast in texture. The salad was flavorful, but the portion was small for the price and the combination of feta whip with the dressing made it a little too wet. The mussels were great - we chose to have them prepared in a white wine sauce which was super flavorful. It came with two pieces of focaccia which were good albeit slightly stale; crostini would have been better. For mains, we split two: the fish and chips and the linguine with clam sauce. The former was pretty good - two generous pieces of fish, but it could have used more fries; the apple slaw it was served with cut through the heaviness of the dish well. The linguini was also good, however it's hard for me to justify a pasta dish being over $30 - especially in this case where there were relatively few clams and the portion was not big. We also ordered a side of broccoli rabe which was good - though the addition of some garlic bulbs/slices would have elevated it. For desert we split the lemon gelée abd biscoff cheesecake. I wasn't a fan of the former, it had a tough-ish consistency and lacked flavor; the cheesecake was better. Service was excellent; we made conversation with several members of staff while we were there - including the owner. They are really putting an effort in to make this place great and I saw it in all aspects of my experience. Overall, I had a great time at Dakota's; I think they still need to fine-tune their menu, especially in relation to portion sizes and prices. However, if this is an improvement from where they were, then they're taking a step in the right direction.

The seafood flavors and balances the slightly spicy lemongrass broth making this a crave worthy bowl. I ordered something out of my wheelhouse - the Coconut Spicy Lemongrass Soup, which on online order menu states its a popular dish. I couldn't see why this dish is so popular because I find other items on the menu superior. They make a tasty pho (especially when paired with a marrow bone). Their sandwiches are well made - I enjoy the different fish ones. I think their Vietnamese coffee could use some work - it is blander than other versions I had tried. Don't be too sad and maybe feel a little optimistic because owner Petra Rickman has a great track record opening interesting, in demand restaurants (This one and Taco Azul have been longtime go-tos in Whitestone). Additionally G&L has a 2nd location with the same menu in Manhattan, which unfortunately for a Queens boy like myself is a bridge too far and a congestion pricing too high for me to make the trek.
