Have come here twice for bagels. The bagels are delicious and soft, sometimes so fresh they're still warm. I love that they have poppy seed which is my favorite bagel and so hard to find. It is VERY popular so getting in and out can be tough, they do have a drive through, but my best recommendation is to order ahead and pickup. One of the best places, hands down for bagels (obviously) and bagel sandwiches. Bagel World is always packed on the weekends as it's a huge hot spot. At this location, you can online order or at the restaurant and they also have a drive through. The parking lot is a little small so it can be a little tricky during rush hour on the weekends. To keep things moving, I think they have two lanes for drive-through; otherwise lines would be down Main Street. The employees are friendly and very speedy and efficient, keeping the lines moving. They always have a good selection of bagels and make sure there are enough. They have your regular breakfast type sandwiches and then also a decent menu for lunch sandwiches. I usually get the breakfast - sausage egg and cheese. So we covered that the bagels are good which obviously is really important when getting a bagel breakfast sandwich, but what I also really appreciate and what makes this better than most, is that the sausage, egg, and cheese is for one, real - but also a good size/amount and high quality. I mean like the sandwich is huge! I'm not talking about a wimpy little patty or piece of egg - I'm talking about a stuffed bagel and sandwich so big you have to open real wide haha. I tend to order online and run in to pick up. They have a separate "line" / side for pickups which is super helpful when they're busy. They always make everything quick and as long as you do your part to get there in a timely fashion, it's still hot. Oh, and they cut the sandwiches in half. Bagel World is a mainstay of my weekend routine with my partner. As someone who grew up there, she was uniquely poised to share this staple of Wakefield with me. I was not in the slightest disappointed. While bolstering long lines inside and even longer lines outside (we're talking on-par with Dunks in the morning), they manage them well. The line for the drive-thru starts as a two-lane and merges to one. The staff are nice enough to come out and manage it so nobody gets into screaming matches over line position as we are so prone to on New England roads. Inside you will find a small line for drinks-only and a longer one for food items- which is a great way the staff expedite the service as coffees are usually easier and take less time and they prove it each time I show up that this is a remarkable idea. Speaking of the staff, they are attentive, kind, and quick to keep the lines moving all while having great attitudes about the work all-around. I particularly enjoy about locally-owned spots like this that you often see way more smiles than chain locations. It really shows the big businesses aren't always the better ones just by the little things like the staff happiness when they're not interacting with customers. I usually grab a large coffee with all the bells and whistles along with a bacon egg and cheese sandwich on a toasted bagel seasoned with salt and pepper. The coffee and additions to it are always flavorful (I run my coffee on the sweeter side). My sandwiches are always steaming hot, fresh, and by far some of the best I have had for a local breakfast and coffee shop like Bagel World. If you're in the area, stop by one morning. It is conveniently located just a few minutes North of I-95 on Route 28 in Reading and is very convenient to get to. read more

A 5 star due to the efficiency of the drive-through, the price for a massive bagel sandwich, and the tasty flavors in said sandwich. Roughly $7, and boy was I full! We ordered in the drive through and waited probably 10-15 minutes total? Super impressive considering the amount of cars in the line. The cashier was quick, as was the person taking the order. I didn't sense any rudeness, like in other reviews. My only issue with this sandwich was that I had to put mayo on at home, but the flavors were there and the bagel was super tasty. Great Bagels but the women who take your order at the counter are absolutely rude...unless you're lucky enough to be served by Anna. She is the only one who greets you with a smile and warm welcome every time. Today I went there and the young woman serving me never looked me in the eye and totally messed up my order. I had to raise my voice to get her attention to order cream cheese to go and sugar for my coffees as she never asked me if that's all I needed. I could go on about her rude, disrespectful, rush me off behavior but what's the use. All I can say is pray you get Anna. She's the brown haired server who always has a long braid in her hair. Bagel world is so consistently delicious. For the last 20 years I've been coming to this location, and I have always been able to get exactly what I want and it is always outstanding. The people who work here are so kind no matter how insanely busy it is. There's a few tables inside if you want to sit and eat. This place in terms of staff and cleanliness is very hit or miss! Sometimes the staff is lovely and fast sometimes there not. Last time we ordered 3 bagels non of them toasted and one woman took 10 minutes to make them as the line was going out the door. This is a common occurrence the line being out the door and the staff moving incredibly slow. However the food makes the sometimes bad experience so worth it. The bagels are delicious and fresh with a huge menu! There's something for the picky and the adventurous eaters! It is very pricy but in my opinion it's worth it. Bagels are pretty good. But the staff is rude, especially the lady that directs the drive thru. I've seen her be short and sarcastic with the people who are probably navigating the two-lane drive thru for the first time. She takes her job way too seriously. You only find these in the Northshore area. The one in Peabody is the original I believe. They one in Salem, and North Reading. I like them because they have lots of bagels to choose from. There are breakfast sandwiches, cream cheese and lunch sandwiches, all on the bagels which are very good. Then have have hot and cold coffees, lattes. The restaurant itself is small but you can still eat there. Parking at these locations are small also. FYI, mornings and especially Saturday's are very busy. So plan accordingly. And the prices are very reasonable. If you haven't come here, you must try it and you will be a regular customer like me! read more

This has always been my go to place for New York style bagels. Nothing fancy organized chaos on a weekend however today, August 11, 2024 it was less than organized. Typically they write your order on a white paper bag and then fulfill it as they go through the different steps. Today a woman came up to the counter asked me what I wanted. I ordered three sandwiches which were extremely basic in nature, all plain bagels lightly toasted two with chicken salad one with egg salad all three tomato. She must've asked me to repeat the order four times and then she walked away a couple minutes later she came back and asked me what else I wanted at which time I gave her the order for a dozen bagels of those bagels two of them were salt and I asked her to put them in a separate bag which she did. After doing this, she asked me if I wanted anything else and I ordered three containers of cream cheese, two vegetable, and one scallion again she disappeared. When she came back, she said, what else would you like? I said it large iced cappuccino as you might guess she disappeared came back had a drink. A shopping bag put it in front of me on the counter rang it up and the total was $45 and change. I did not get a copy of my receipt but the amount seemed correct. Maybe it's my fault but when I got back to the house 25 minutes away, I realized I only had two cream cheeses and I did not have any of the sandwiches. Tried calling the location several times in an effort to see if they could pre-make the sandwiches for me to drive back and pick up however they don't answer their phones on the weekend. This message is going to be horrible because I'm using voice text as I drive back to the location, rather irritated to try and solve this problem and I hope that it doesn't cause a major issue. I will update this after I leave the store. Attitude at the store and very hesitant to help fix the issue. I am leaving with what I was supposed to get but feel like I went through a few rounds with Mike Tyson to get there. read more

As a girl does not want to be shorted on the smear. Veggie cream cheese on an everything bagel and added chive cc. Honestly not sure what I got, I think it was just a healthy helping of chive, no veggie. Still good but uncertain what a regular version of cc is. Is it worth the drive off the highway? Absolutely. We had the dog in the back seat so hopped in the drive thru line and got our bagel sandwiches in under 10 minutes. I ordered the black pastrami on a rye bagel which at a place that makes their bagels from scratch, I love a rye bagel. My wife got the breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel. Disappointed, unfortunately. Arrived at 6:45 am this morning and ordered 1/2 dozen bagels - French toast and egg - they are unsliced and have been wrapped sealed in a plastic bag all day. It's 10pm now. I just opened the bag for the first time and began eating one of the bagels. Honestly, it tastes somewhat stale. This hasn't happened before. I used to buy dozens and 1/2 dozens pretty regularly a couple years ago and the bagels stayed fresh and chewy if you kept them wrapped them in plastic for at least 2-3 days. I'm just not going to buy in bulk again. As a carb-monster, bringing home just one bagel per visit a much better strategy in any case. I do wonder about day olds though - is it possible there was a big surplus yesterday and that at 6:45 in the morning I got day olds rather than just out of the oven? read more

The products are amazing! The entire experience you have to get through to get that product is quite annoying. Reasonable prices. I highly suggest the drive thru, HOWEVER when you pull up and no one answers, just wait. The line took about 12 minutes only for no one to be on the other end of the speaker. No problem I will pull around to the window to order, as did the lady in front of me, where we were turned away and told to start over at the back of the line, or come in and get treated like cattle. If you are getting whole bagels with tubs of cream cheese (no sandwiches) the express line is for you! Yesterday I went to get 18 bagels and three tubs of cream cheese. Total was a little more than $20- so reasonably priced! The egg and cheese sandwiches are done with the egg over hard-- no yolk. They also salt and pepper the sandwich as well.
