Bagel World is far and away the best shop in the area.Their bagels are the old fashioned style boiled and baked, crispy outside and chewy inside. I love going on weekend mornings when they are always hot from the oven! They also have a crazy amount of cream cheese spreads in every flavor imaginable. Check their deli and you find top notch nova, applegate cold cuts, and tofu spreads. I'm a vegetarian and they even carry veggie meats for my sat morning egg fix. This place is family run, and I've noticed a step up over the last year or so. A health grade A has hung in the window for the last year while every other shop around here has a B or worse. The bread place up the block has been shut twice by the health dept in the last year alone(yikes). The cleanliness carries weight with me and it's noticeable in this place. The owner is always there and always out front helping his customers, I like that. Any problems I've ever had were always fixed right away, and I leave knowing my business means something to these people. Bring your dog to their side window and they even give him or her a treat while they serve you...... Beat that! read more

I've lived in Park Slope for more than 25 years and remember when Bagel World replaced a diner that was there. I've known the owner and the staff for many years since they opened. The food may not always be perfect, but overall, I've always been very pleased with it as well as the service and the camaraderie with the staff. The bagels and the muffins were always good as well as the spreads. At some point, I started branching out into Bagel sandwiches and was very happy with them . I have found other Bagel places in the Brooklyn area to be a little lacking for some reason and believe me I've tried many of them. I have moved from the neighborhood and do not get there as often as I would like, but I'm glad to see that they are still popular and when I do go in, I remember how much I like the place. read more

I ordered an oatmeal this morning and one toasted biyalis. Besides the fact that I had to wait for my order longer than 2 customers that ordered after me, my oatmeal came out as soup. A lot of milk and little oatmeal. I wasn't even asked how I prefer my oatmeal to be. So I just spend my money for the breakfast I won't even eat now. Not the greatest start of the morning. I will add 2 stars to my review because a business owner contacted me and offered to resolve an issue. I appreciate people who do care about their business and their customers. I stopped in here earlier today since I was across the street at the farmer's market and they were out of bagels -- not only did Bagel World still have fresh everything bagels at 2pm, but it was the best bagel I've had in NYC thus far. I also don't usually order cappuccinos but something about it today seemed appealing -- I was not disappointed in the least!!! Soooo so good!! This morning I purchased a platter with scramble eggs and cheese with bacon. while eating the eggs, I found parchment paper cooked in my eggs with cheese. This is unacceptable. I could have choked in this. The food there is already over priced. They charged me extra for the toast that should have come with the platter. I will never buy from them again. The french toast tasted old. The butter had a refrigerator taste. Be sure to check your food before you eat it. read more

Have you ever seen a dead fly on a cream cheese? Surely not! Because if you don't see it and then your remix the cheese it happen that the dead fly goes INSIDE the cream and mostly IN YOUR BAGEL!!!! This place is beyond disgusting and dirty!!! Not a bagel place that people of Park Slope deserve!!! Where to begin. This place is downright stupendous. Not only are the bagels and cream cheeses outstanding, but all of the baked goods they produce are divine. This place could just as easily be called "Muffin World", "Cupcake World", "Tasty Treat World".... I was really bummed. Flat/stale bagel. But it took 15 minutes because they were 'fresh'. Almost no cheese at all. Like literally, not visible. Bagel tastes soapy if that's possible. I've had an ok bagel from here before (expensive but not special) so I decided to try again. I will never come back. I recommend every bagel place in the area over the one. These guys are the nicest, hardest working, calm people in Brooklyn. Maybe the world. I am always amazed. The bagels are perfect. They have tons of other choices. The food is decent. The delivery process took forever. Called in made my order then called back an hour later to be told that it would be ten minutes until the order reaches me . Called back half an hour later to be hanged up on. Place is over priced and overrated. The food here is acceptable and nothing special. read more

The best bagel sandwich shop in park slope. Everything is so fresh. I have never tried anything I didn't like from this place. The staff are so fast cooking the order and they are the most pleasant people. The owner does a great job maintaining this place. I would recommend they carry some organic kids snacks. read more
