I do know Bageleddi's is an LBI institution but I'm just not that big of a fan. There's almost always a line out the door so you can't question the popularity of this place. To be fair, there aren't too many bagel places on the island. Bageleddi's is also always incredibly hot inside. I just don't think the bagels are that great. I'm sorry but I don't. They're more bready than chewy and doughy which I prefer. Think NY bagels. It's definitely a personal preference but I'm just not that big a fan. They are, however, incredibly convenient for anyone staying in the Ship Bottom area and we typically come here at least once when staying on the island. read more

I had the most unpleasant experience at this bare minimums bagel place on Long Beach Island. I will get to my biggest complaint first. The handlers of the bagels wore no gloves with the exception of one girl. The owners were 2 of the the rudest people I have ever met. And they also wore no gloves while handling money, touching the cash register, opening the back door to bring bagels outside. Disgusting!!! The older woman with the short blond hair constantly scolded people to move outside of the establishment to wait for their food. She actually said the fire code only allows 40 people. Now there weren't close to 40 people in there and if this was really a concern, they should have had somebody at the front door like they did at the old location. But she did not like people standing in front of her. The older bald headed guy was just as rude. I ordered a bagel with cream cheese for me and my girlfriend ordered an egg and cheese on a bagel. They brought mine out quickly by itself. We waited and waited for my girlfriend's bagel. Finally, I went up to the large bald owner. He looked at my receipt and said it ONLY been 10 minutes. I said 10 minutes to make that bagel. He replied and I quote "you're not the only sandwich back there". Wow. That's the response of a business owner to a customer. By the time it came out it was 15 minutes. Totally unprofessional people. I will never go back there. And just keep in mind that they DON'T WEAR GLOVES WHEN HANDLING YOUR FOOD. I live for the weeks in the summer when I can wake up and expect a hot bagel from Bageleddis. Even though the management has recently changed, the bagels remain delicious. They are perfect plain or as a sandwich bread. The apple turnovers and crumb cake are pretty life-changing too! Definitely stop by and try this amazing spot. read more

Because of the positive Yelp reviews posted this year, I decided to try Bageleddi's this year... MUCH IMPROVED over the past two years... The line at 8 am on Sunday was around the building... The bagels were large, well baked and had flavor... The crumb cake was moist and crummy!! (Pun intended...) The bagels are $1 each.... a bit more than at home, but the difference is not a big problem 'cause they are sooo much better than the ones we purchased in the past... As long as the Yelp reviews stay positive, we'll be back next year... I recommend trying them! read more

I got my bagel with Taylor ham,egg and cheese and when owner called me when it was ready just handed to me and I said thank you and she just looked at me and walked away. I thought it was weird. Disappointed. Coming to LBI since late 1960's. Alway go to Bageleddis. Went recently. Asked to toast the bagel. They said "we don't do that". They used to and other places will toast. Customer service is negative 2 on a scale of 0-5. Bagels still good, but when you treat customers like dirt, the business will go into the ground, like the dirt. Read a book on customer service and you just might survive. I want to come back. Give me a reason. read more

Best bagels on the island! Great selection of bagels, baked goods and deli sandwiches. They are always busy but the line moves very fast. The new location is just beautiful! The inside is immaculate and the outside has a large area with patio tables, chairs, umbrellas, benches and even some fun games you can play. We have been getting bagels at bagels and beyond for years, but decided to give this place a try. The bagels were good, but the bagels were a little tough and they were kind of squished together. Also they were out of my kids' favorites: blueberry. Another customer was ordering some kind of blueberry Danish or something and he was disappointed that there was no frosted ones, he said that happens each time. Went here last Sunday. Something must have happened right before I walked in, because the man who took my order seemed annoyed and barked questions/responses at me. I was keeping track of my order on my fingers and when he said, "4 more", by my count it should have been 6. Intimidated, I stupidly didn't say anything and only realized that we were two bagels short when I got home (3.5 hours away) and that the order was wrong (no garlic bagel, just another plain). The bagels were clearly fresh - still warm from the oven (it was 6:30am) and very good. Eat them the day you buy them! read more

Bagels are great but the new owners really don't know how to run a business. Ever since they took over, it never fails that when I go in they are always out of bagels. Over 20 years I have been buying bagels at that location & never experienced that once. I have gone in as early as 10am & they were out of plain bagels. I swear this has happened many, many times. Last weekend on Saturday they had 2 left & none in the oven. Many, many people are complaining. The owner obviously does not know how to run a bagel business. He is so worried about leftover bagels. How much does it cost him to make a bagel. Donate the leftover bagels to the food pantry at St. Francis & take it off your taxes. The other owners would give them away at the end of the day. Stop counting your bagels and please your customers!!! I am not alone in this complaint, many people have told me the same thing. read more

This is my favorite spot for NY style bagels in Jersey. They are always fresh and they have delicious cream cheese flavors. They also have a good selection of boars head products. When my family and I started going to LBI in '99, we found this place. The bagels are made exactly how I remember them all these years later. The best bagels on the island and the exact same as a true NY bagel. They also have great breakfast sandwiches and amazing coffee. A must go to place when visiting LBI!!! read more

These are the best bagels around and the lox were fresh and delicious. I would have given it 5 stars but the male manager ( maybe owner) is rude. I asked him if the had whitefish and he said "no, just lox" and before I could ask him where it was located ( it was my first time in the shop ) he walked away from me. I would have given this place 4-5 stars if I was writing this review about 4 years ago. Unfortunately, due to poor customer service over the past 3 years, coming to a head this year, we will no longer bother with Bageleddi's. On our annual family vacation, we would drive down to Bageleddi's 3-4 times during the week specifically for their Butter Kringle cake. My dad is a crumb cake snob and says this is the best crumb cake he's ever had, just the right balance of crumb and cake. At $2.50 a piece, it isn't cheap, but worth every penny, to the point that we like to buy a whole box full to take home and enjoy after our vacation. Sounds good right? Well, don't plan on getting any. We were on LBI the week of 7/10 and stopped at Bageleddi's Sunday, Tuesday, and Saturday. Sunday, no Butter Kringle cake. Tuesday, Dad goes extra early in case they simply ran out Sunday before he got there, but no Butter Kringle cake. Since we had other morning plans the rest of the week, Dad requests to put in an order for Saturday morning to pick up our box full for at home. 'Don't worry' they say, 'No need to pre-order, we promise we'll have it.' Saturday morning rolls around, again Dad gets there early, and lo and behold, still no Butter Kringle cake. Perhaps we wouldn't have been too upset, but he was willing to pre-order and pre-pay on Tuesday and his request was brushed off. Clearly, they don't want or need our business. read more

Our family has been going to Bageleddi's for over 15 years and actually have taken day trips from Long Island, arriving when they open, just to have their bagels. Unfortuantely, last weekend we were stunned to find a sign in the window that said they were closed due to their oven being broken. We were disappointed, but happy on Sunday morning when they were open. However, the bagels were not the same. I don't know what happened, but they were not a crispy on the outside, soft on the inside with the delicious flavor that is distinctly theirs....I hope that was just an off day due to the oven problem they were having...I will post again when we return in a few weeks. read more

The new management here is terrible. The employees didn't know the prices to anything, the board is confusing (I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap and it was buffalo chicken cold cuts), the food was incredibly expensive for it's low quality and the wait was at least 30 min with no line. I will never eat here again and will make sure none off friends do either. A waste of money and a meal. Might as well go to Wawa down the street. read more

I own a home on the island and have always been greeted by the staff with an attitude. Don't even think of asking for a toasted bagel. You would think the building will crumble. I asked for one and got a lecture on how the bagels are hot and they DO NOT toast the bagel and that the cream cheese will melt because the bagel is so hot. THE BAGEL WAS COLD. When I said something I got another lecture and was given my money back with an attitude. Ask for a toasted bagel and see what happens to you. read more

I have been going to Bageleddi's since I started working on LBI in 1994. I love their bagels. I used to always get an everything with cream cheese and it was always perfect. In the last 8 years or so I switched to a sesame with cream cheese and sometimes for lunch would get a sesame with turkey, mayo and lettuce and it was "to die for!!!!" Sadly Ken, the owner passed away a couple of years ago and his wife tried to make a go of it for a while (very nice lady, Jamie I think) but sold to some muscle head idiot who doesn't know Jack about running a bagel shop. You can wait 5-10 minutes for him to look up at you if he's texting on his phone or watching the flat screen t.v. (with no tables to sit at) and the other workers are busy. If not for Dolores running around like a chicken with no head, the place would already be out of business. Very sad, bagels are still good but the service, set up and quality is a joke now.
