I moved here from NYC and the thing I knew I would miss most is the Delis, whitefish salad and most of all Smoked Sable. I was constantly at Zabar's and Barney Greengrass to get this guilty pleasure. I discovered Bagelicious by accident because I wanted a bagel but had no idea that they had all this fantastic fish. The whitefish salad is AMAZING, and so is the smoked sable. Yesterday, a Sunday, we stopped for lunch just before noon and had to wait twenty minutes for a table. There was one party ahead of us, but most of those seated appeared to have just arrived. They had either just ordered or were waiting to order. It was still a pleasant wait. Service was excellent. The food was great. This is my favorite Jewish deli in the metro area. Our son-in-law had not eaten here before. Our daughter, my wife, and I have eaten here many times over the years. My wife had more food than she cared to eat and brought the remainder home. The rest of us enjoyed ours and ate every bite. Our son-in-law had the New Yorker bagel sandwich and felt he had found one of the best items on the menu. I ordered three eggs, sunny side up, with potatoes and a sesame whole wheat bagel - toasted with butter and jam. I've been going to Bagelicious for many years, and while it had its faults, it was never terrible. Today was a new story. The people behind the counters were rude and nasty! It took us over 45 minutes to get our food order. The bagels are misshaped and hard, like a pro bagel maker didn't make them. The waitstaff is still wonderful, but I have a feeling this place will be on the market shortly. The whole menu went up $1.00 in price, but the wrong prices are still on the menus, so you don't know until you get your check. You can't be rude to your customers and expect them to keep showing up. Pluses and minuses. I love a decent deli, and Bagelicious fits. The 2 males who behave like owners can be grumpy. Nice selection of bagels , meats and spreads. Especially good pickles. Pleasant table service. Not exorbitant prices for the deli products. Cash only (or check, if you remember those.). I generally avoid East Cobb. As this is my first time here, I went with no expectations except that it should be good if they focus only on Bagels. I have visited other bagel outlets for brunch and have somewhat of an idea of what kind of bagels I like. So Bagelicious is situated in a big strip mall with plenty of parking spots. But because it is well frequented, you might have to wait a little before getting to sit at a table. Our server was friendly, he was busy but still polite & patient. He 'pointed' to us (with his eyeballs) where we could sit because his hands were full. LOL I found that amusing that he would do that despite him being so busy. So we found table by the window, it space to sit was rather tight, so be mindful of people behind you if you are used to sitting far away from the table when you eat. We were quickly served our hot coffees and when he returned the 2nd time, he welcomed us after he found out it was our first time here. He came back the 3rd time and finally got to take our order. I had the chicken salad platter with an egg bagel (add cream cheese) and a side of fruits. Food was served very quickly. The cream cheese that came was overflowing the little tub that it was contained in. My bagel was toasted so it was warm and slightly softened my cream cheese which I love. However I found that my egg bagel was a little hard. I prefer my bagels a little softer even though it's toasted. The egg bagel wasn't as yellow as I'm used to and had to ask to ensure it wasn't a mistake. The chicken salad was tasty, not super creamy and therefore felt lite and healthy (believe it or not). My dish also came with slices of tomatoes, purple onions, a hard boiled egg, some olives and a pickle. I loved the olives, it is not pitted so do be careful not to break any teeth or denture biting into it. I felt the fruit salad lacked color, wished it had red or purple grapes instead of green alongside honeydew melons and pineapple. Otherwise it was refreshing. It was a huge breakfast, I had to take home half of my breakfast which is sitting in the refrigerator now. Not sure when I'll get to it but I sure will as my breakfast was yummy. Last note, be sure to bring cash, this place does not do credit, DOES NOT DO DEBIT card too. We made that mistake and had to walk to the nearby Wells Fargo to get cash. read more

Great bagels, inconsistent staff, cash only. I've been going to Bagelicious for years now. The bagels are great as well as the cream cheese (though the jalapeño cream cheese left me wanting more heat). Other dishes I like include corned beef hash and they have awesome potato salad! Tuna salad is better than the chicken salad. Johnny's Hideaway is also a good New York style sandwich. They're cash-only and the line to the cashier is a sh*t show, to be honest. People are both in line to pay and also waiting to order ready to go bagels or other breads, and there is no rhyme or reason to where people stand to do either. The staff also is hit or miss. Some are nice and bus boys all look about 12 but then again I'm old, so what do I know? But some of the wait staff is disagreeable (trying to emulate a Jewish bakery in NYC?) and off putting. The wifey insisted on coming here before an appointment, and as a big fan of fresh, non-industrial bagels, I easily agreed! Although I prefer a bagel egg sandwich for breakfast, I was down for the omelet. We arrived Monday 8 AM, and it was pretty empty save for a big group of retirees, which meant we got our order in and out very quickly in time for the appointment. They had some chairs and tables out so we enjoyed the hot bfast outside in the crisp autumn air. The potatoes were delicious, seasoned right, and hot, and the bagel was fresh tasting and toasted, with strawberry cream cheese that was not too sweet. Unfortunately the veggie (green peppers with onions) omelet was a letdown. Clearly eggs from a tetra pack, as in pre mixed eggs, are used, and the texture was flat and thin, and it tasted of nothing. It didn't have any seasoning. Next time I'll be getting the fried eggs and hoping they are actual fresh eggs. read more

Pro Tip: Don't be like me! Pay attention to your surroundings. The Cash Only sign should have smacked me in the face as I walked in the door, but I saw people coming out, so I opened the door to let them come out. I went in without realizing I should have turned around. I ordered an everything bagel with jalapeno/tomato cream cheese and made my way to the register. This is when I found out that my card was no good there. I apologized to the very kind lady at the register, and she IMMEDIATELY told me to take it, and to pay the next time I was there. I've only been here once, but I'm such a fan already. There's something about cash-only establishments that know they have a good thing going. I stopped by on the weekend with my husband just to get bagels. We ended up getting 6 bagels, and some rugelach. Thankfully, we got a little 2 ounce thing of cream cheese to go with our bagels. We're not into overloading cream cheese on our bagels, so that complimentary 2-oz bit easily covered 4 whole bagels for us. We got a variety of everything, rye garlic, egg garlic, jalapeno, etc. Of all of these flavors, the rye was a standout favorite since you can't really find that anywhere else. We're definitely interested in coming back to eat there or just to get more bagels. My fiancé has been coming here since he was a child, so this is certainly a longtime neighborhood favorite. This place is a cash-only NY/NJ style deli and bagel shop. Are they the best bagels in town? In my opinion, no. This is a "kosher style" restaurant (read: not actually kosher since meat and dairy are served together) that has kosher deli cold cuts and Jewish favorites such as matzo ball soup, kugel, knishes, rugelach, and whitefish salad. They have all kinds of platters, including fish, liver, egg salad, and chicken salad. They have lots of bagel sandwiches as well. They get super busy on the weekends and often have a line up back to the door. I have to preface this review with the fact that I am a grumpy NYer who has been here for threeish years and am skeptical about what southern folk call a "bagel". I have basically all the bagels in the Atlanta area and frankly, none are all too wonderful. Either too doughy or chewy or just plain bad. This place actually gets it right, which is amazing. Yes, its a long haul for me from Midtown, but hey, if you want an edible bagel this is the spot. I have always loved this place. Be aware that they only accept cash and checks though! They have been doing an excellent job maintaining their great food and service throughout this COVID time. My work gets lunch there to go a couple of times a month or more, and we especially love the lox and egg salad and fresh bagels (fresh makes a big difference for sure).
