If you are visiting on a Sunday plan accordingly. There may be a wait but it's worth it. Ever since visiting New York, I've become a bit of a snob when it comes to bagels. Bagels and Bliss did not disappoint! This small grab and go shop operates like a well oiled machine. By the time you reach the register be ready to share your name then begin with identifying if you're ordering sandwiches or just bagels. I'd recommend the Lox with everything on Tzitzel. Tzitzel is the provel cheese in bagels (e.g. it originated in St. Louis). Note: they do take food allergies seriously. I witnessed a patron share she had an allergy and requested they wash off the knife before making her order and they did just that! Not every food establishment is accomodating in this way so it was nice to witness! read more

Stopped by yesterday for a couple of bagels and decided to get a bagel with lox for lunch. They keep adding flavors based on customer interest. Had jalapeño-everything today. YUM! This place is located on NE corner of Delmar and Old Bonhomme. There are about 5 spaces in front and about 4 in the back of the building. It is really small but the bagels were great. I posted the menu with current prices (see photo). Not sure if legit bagels are hard to find in St Louis but there were great. Both the plain and sprinkles were good and so was the cookie. I heard about Bagels and Bliss from my friend who is a native New Yorker and KNOWS good bagels. I've been here twice in the past week because their bagels are just that good! Both times, they've sold out of many of their popular flavors including the churro, jalapeno everything, and garlic rosemary. My favorite one so far is the Everything bagel. I got a half dozen for a little under $2 per bagel and they have the perfect chewiness, density, and flavor. I haven't had a chance to try their bagel sandwiches yet but the lox looks very tempting as does their sweet pastries, especially the babka and cinnamon buns. I will be back soon! read more

Amazing! I stopped in here on a Friday morning and it wasn't super busy. We ordered bagel and lox on an everything bagel. They were around $13 each which is very reasonable and they were some of the best I think I've ever had. The bagels had JUST come out. They were warm, perfectly chewy and just enough everything seasoning. The portion of lox was generous and the ratio of all the toppings (onion, tomato and capers) was perfect. If you are in the area stop in - you will not be disappointed. One thing to note this is more of a grab and go vs. eat in but 100% worth it. read more

It's nice to see another bagel place open, especially in UCity! The owners were working the front and were very nice and excited to have customers. I was kind of surprised they only have one cream cheese flavor (plain), but I was more there to try out the bagels anyways. I grabbed 2 sesame bagels with cream cheese and a cinnamon roll. The cinnamon roll was not the best - it was flat and undercooked. The bagels were pretty misshapen, which would be ok but that caused the cook to be a bit off. Overall the texture and flavor of the bagel was good though! I would come back to try another bagel flavor, they have many kinds available! read more

Bagels are amazing, I'm from E Coast and yes just as good or better then bagels in NY City. It's so hard to get a good egg salad, best I've ever had was in LA at Erewhon, this was just as good. Food Everything Bagel w/cream cheese, onion, tomato - 3.5/5 No toaster really hurts final ready to eat sandwiches for me. We're on a roadtrip from Berkeley CA to Cleveland OH to see my son graduate from CWRU and we had a sudden bagel craving between Kansas City and St Louis. Upon visiting it turned out to be the 2nd day open for the business! Owner was super nice and clearly learning how to pitch product, run register, prepare bagel sandwiches etc. They didn't yet have a toaster or any drinks available. New bagel shop in U City at Delmar & Old Bonhomme. They are in the middle of a "soft opening." They don't have everything on the menu and only take cash, check, and Zelle. There were about 4 people ahead of me at 8:30am on a Wednesday. I got a tzitzel, onion, salt and cinnamon raisin with one side of cream cheese. Right now they just have plain cream cheese. How were the bagels? Delicious! They were yeasty and soft and clearly hand rolled. I personally like a little bit more chew and crispness to the crust but I think these things evolve over time. There is clearly a need for fresh bagels in this neighborhood as the people kept streaming in. I will be back here again and again. You should go too! read more

Was in St.Louis for a doctor's appointment today was in west county. Looking for a Bagel and Smoked Salmon for the ride back to Lebanon il. Figured if There was one to be had ( West County or Chesterfield ! Started my yelp search to find this gem ! Nothing fancy but the best bagel I've had besides going back to the north east. I sat in my truck and ate my Smoked Salmon,cream cheese, cucumber, capers and Red Onion on an everything bagel like I was going to the electric chair ! Excellent in every fashion. Chewy outter soft favorful center. Everything was super fresh veggies were cold as was the cream cheese ! Well done Bagel and Bliss. Definitely one of the best bagel places in town. The bagels are chewy and satisfying. I really liked their egg salad, too. This place recently opened and I've been wanting to try it for a few weeks since it's very close to my house. But every time I went, there was an enormous line OR they were sold out. Both good signs! Finally got to try today and WOW. I had a classic plain bagel with cream cheese and it was delicious. The bagel was so nice and chewy and very, very fresh! One friend got the lox & cc bagel, which he loved, and my other friend got the tuna salad bagel. I had a bite of the tuna salad, and it was great. Not overly mayo-ish, which I liked. The bagels are fresh and there are at least eight types to pick from. Im a big fan of the salt bagel! Staff has always been friendly and quick too. A new place in UCity on Delmar. For me, an East coast guy, all bagels are measured against NY bagels and as part of that, there is of course the tasty qualities but also the "chew", this place had IMHO just the right amount of both. It's a small operation, only open a short time and there are clearly some issues with workflow and kitchen/front end management but it is now my go-to for bagels. Discount for cash, and cheerful staff, but I would strongly advise against coming here Sunday mornings, they clearly-for the time being at least, get overwhelmed but long lines and multiple complex orders. Pay attention to the houses of operation, closed on Saturday. read more

I was really hoping for greatness as it would save a lot of drive time. The bagels nail it for great flavor and the right chew. But the toppings are sparse and half of what little there is, falls of too easily when you slice it. Another factor was the vibe in the place. White waiting on line, there is a woman who would put the orders together after a much younger (late teens or early twenties?) guy took the order. She made a mistake and was going to include a cinnamon raisin bagel in an order. He immediately got snarky and rude with her and barked at her like a bad parent would when their young child made a simple mistake. Inappropriate for any employee to employee interaction, especially in front of customers, made that much worse as she is much his elder.
