It's great to see Einstein Bros Bagels popping up more and more. This location is located in the heart of Ucity, right off of 170 and Olive next to CFA. There's a small parking lot outside, a few tables inside and they offer online ordering as well. Very clean inside and out! Upon entering, i was happily greeted by staff. One staff member stood out and his name was Ray. He was such a positive and enthusiastic person to have taking your order. He made my morning with his fun and silly antics. Thank you Ray! Bagels were baked fresh, food was cooked made to order and was delicious. I ordered a BYO breakfast sandwich. Asiago bagel, turkey sausage, egg, cheddar cheese and plain cream cheese. The bagel was soft,chewy, and not too dense. The sausage and egg was hot, cheese melted perfectly and had the right amount of cream cheese. Needed a quick lunch option before going to Costco. Decided to stop by. Line was long but went quick. I ordered a turkey sandwich with bacon. Sandwich came out quickly and came with a small bag of chips. It was pretty good and fairly priced. The place itself is relatively small with 4-6 tables. It was easy to get a seat. When I lived in the city, I loved my local Einstein Bros. Bagel shop. Now that I live in IL, I don't have an Einstein's near me. So when this one opened close to the Costco that I shop regularly, I was ecstatic. I'm the type of person who on occasion enjoys a bagel for breakfast. I've tried the ones at Costco and they do not satisfy my craving. When I shop my Costco, I pop over to Einstein and grab me some bagels. I like that I can mix my dozen or half dozen with flavors that I like. Being single, I cannot eat them that fast, so I pair them up in freezer bags and seal them with my FoodSaver. Now when the craving for a bagel hits in the morning, I take a bag out of the freezer and put it on the counter. By the time I get back home from walking the dog, they have thawed enough to be toasted and enjoyed. Freezing them does not affect the taste of the bagel, no matter what the flavor. The staff is friendly, helpful and get me in and out quickly. Before I know it, I am on the road back to my home in Illinois. read more

I visited on a Sunday morning before running errands, and the location is very conveniently located next to Costco and the Target and Dierbergs developments. Parking is ample and easy, which made stopping in simple. I ordered the bacon, avocado, and egg white sandwich, along with their fresh orange juice and a vanilla hazelnut coffee. Everything was well prepared and tasted fresh. The wait time was about 10 minutes, which was reasonable and appreciated given that the food was made to order. The only minor limitation is the absence of a drive-thru. Overall, this is a solid and dependable choice for breakfast in University City, especially if you are already in the area. read more

Einstein Bros. Bagels recently opened near the new Costco in Olivette. I was running errands this morning and had I stop by! I ordered their All Night Egg sandwich meal which comes with their twice baked hashbrown and coffee or orange juice. The bagel sandwich was yummy and warm and what you would expect for a classic bacon egg and cheese sandwich. The twice baked hash brown was cheesy and a little heavy for my liking but still good. Overall the vibes are casual. You order at the counter and then they call your name up when your order is ready. They have many bagel sandwich options and a few sandwich options. Today was my first time at Einstein Bagels. I love that they open at 6, which is clutch for early risers like myself. For starters, the place is exceptionally clean!I love that they have so many options to choose from aside from the bagels. I decided to go with the egg sandwich on the everything bagel and add avocado, the small passion fruit sunrise, and the heavenly chocolate chip cookie. Within 5 mins, my food was ready and I was on my way. The first few bites of my sandwich were good. I wish it were grilled a bit more bc it made the sandwich a bit difficult to chew. The bagel itself was ok but didn't wow me. I found the passion fruit sunrise to be really refreshing. I ate the cookie later and it truly was heavenly. Overall, I had a great first visit and I imagine I'll be back in the near future. read more

This place is more popular than you'd think. When I arrived at maybe 10:30 AM on a Saturday, I could hardly pull onto the lot. I wondered where all those people could be going. Come to find out, Einstein Bros is the only open establishment in this strip. There's been signage for a Nail place next door since Jesus left Chicago, but it's empty on the inside. At the far end of the strip, there's an empty space with a drive-thru. If/when it opens, you can imagine this place being even more of a clusterfrick--though it should be noted that this overall development has been surprisingly well-designed, at least traffic-wise, so far. Much of the traffic on the lot today was just people trying to get as close to the front door as possible. I'll spare you my thoughts on ostensibly able-bodied people who circle a grocery store parking lot for half an hour trying to get the closest parking space possible, because that's not why we're here. Inside was an absolute zoo and a surprisingly diverse demographic mix--just as many clearly slept-in sweatpants (on women, mind you) as there was Patagonia. Bagels: bringing America together. The dining room is small and inhospitable. There's only a few tables and, as is the case with the Panera across the street, they seem to be purposely designed to not be comfy. They don't want anyone showing up with a laptop trying to write the next great American novel. All of the seating is clearly visible to the person working the register, lest anyone get any bright ideas. All orders are made to-go by default. You can eat there if you want to, if you can find a table. That might not be as much of an issue at 10:30 AM on a weekday. I was there to get a bagel with lox, which I've never had from Einstein Bros. I was glad to see that there was one on the menu, since I didn't think to show up with an envelope of lox in my pocket just in case. I've had one of their breakfast-y sandwiches once before--it may have been a bacon, egg and cheese--and didn't care for it. But I think it was more a matter of me not liking the idea of a sandwich on a bagel. A bagel with lox is different, because it's mostly just a bagel with cream cheese. The lox, capers, onions and what have you function as an accent. I got the bagel and a small coffee, and my total, with a 0% tip (feel free to @ me, if necessary), came to just shy of $13. They didn't give me a cup for coffee when I paid nor when they gave me my bagel. I just reached and grabbed one. I took a large, since they couldn't be bothered to hand it to me. I wanted (admittedly) the vanilla hazelnut coffee, and both pots were out. I settled for a breakfast blend. The bagel was honestly much better than I expected. If you can manage to eat it there, there's a nice contrast between the fresh-from-the-toaster bagel and the cream cheese. The bagel is nice and soft, with the toasted part being just a little crisp. The lox is sliced thick enough to feel substantial, with the trade-off being that they don't give you enough of it to fully cover the bagel. Some bites are just cream cheese and the various other toppings. The shmear is generous, but not as ridiculous as some places in New York, where they give you more or less an entire brick of Philadelphia. Eww! The onions are fresh and delightfully pungent. The tomatoes aren't stale, but they're kinda flavorless in the way that tomatoes at fast-food restaurants often are. I bet that's the case more often than not, not unlike at Wendy's. I'd suggest they find a better purveyor, but I shudder to think what they might charge if they did. read more

So exciting to leave the first review for this new Einstein's location on Olive! The location is superb for me, so I will be stopping by often. I ordered the caramel cream cold brew, which was better than I expected! It's very sweet, which is just the way I like. Not pictured (because I was very hungry), I also ordered the six cheese bagel with plain shmear. It was ~$10 altogether which felt pretty reasonable to me for a quick breakfast. The inside is quite small, with a handful of tables, but the service was quick and friendly even as they get their footing. Can't wait to come back! read more

I used to eat breakfast at Einstein Bagel shop in Euclid during my college time, but I haven't been to any Einstein Bagels shops for a long time. My all time favorite is the toasted blueberry bagel with honey almond cream cheese. It was my first time at this location. I liked the atmosphere here. The line was so long on the weekend, so I placed my order online to pick up. My order was ready as promised time. Everything was good. I've always liked Einstein's and am really happy to have one open in my neighborhood. My favorite is the veggie on a whole wheat bagel. The food is healthy and the people who work there are wonderful. I usually have tea, but I may try the coffee next time. read more

My history with Einstein's bagels goes back many years. In the 90s I visited their sister chain Noah's bagels in Portland OR which was Kosher and they asked me to leave once when I walked in with a Starbucks coffee since it wasn't Kosher. Boston Market, Einstein's, and Noah's were owned by McDonald's at the time. So, I was basically thrown out of a McDonald's. When I was back in St Louis, we eventually got Einstein's stores for good bagels and coffee. This store on Olive is one of the newer models with less seating and more focus on carry out. The nova lox bagel that I ordered was delicious and consistent with my many experiences at Einstein's. The only unusual occurrence was once when I was watching the preparation of another lox bagel 20 years ago, the woman just drooled all over my bagel. I said "I don't want that one". She turned and hurried away. I suspected she was pregnant. I miss the one in the CWE where I often stopped. read more

Very disappointed. The bagels have no travel time and they only added cream cheese to one side. This was $6 and it was just a basic bagel and basic cream cheese. The breakfast sandwiches leave a lot to be desired. They're not very flavorful and they're instantly soggy. The hash browns aren't what I think of when I think of hashbrowns. These are like a mashed potato muffin. Also not crispy or salty at all. Overall this was just a bummer of a breakfast pick and it felt like a waste of money. read more
