Very hit or miss if you order on Doordash. Perfect when you're in person. Have ordered delivery from them twice and both times order was messed up as though they don't read the Doordash info at all. In person service is quick and food is always great. Recommend going earlier than later. read more

I really like their bagels! It's the only place in the neighborhood I go to for bagels. The only down side is the prices - I got two sandwiches on rolls - one was literally just american cheese and ham, no lettuce or condiments, and one soda and it cost $17. The south shore is generally expensive and overpriced but for a standard sandwich it was definitely pricy. Will simply just come here for what their best at: bagels! read more

Great place for a bagel in SI. BEC and Egg and Cheese on an everything bagel is great. Lines begin early in the morning but move fast. Great variety of beverages and last minute items like eggs, milk and juice are sold. I would have given five stars but once there flavors of bagels run out you are out of luck. read more

The bagels are good, large size. The only issue I have consistently is that their plain bagels have other stuff attached to them like poppy seeds, onion, sesame seeds. I guess they don't clean the oven when they put the bagels in after making their other seeded bagels, I can't have seeds (medical condition) and I'm constantly scraping stuff off the bottom of their plain bagels. The other problem is that their is no distinct way of forming a line in the store so they are serving customers out of order. I go there regularly to buy bagels, and only bagels and I always get stuck behind the customer that's ordering 4 prepared sandwiches with special requirements. Come on...put up a sign where the line forms and serve the BAGEL only customer a little faster. Clean those ovens. SMH read more

I have been going there for years. I spent at least $30 a week buying sandwiches and bagels. One day I went in I was my usual sandwiches. I also wanted to add a toasted bagel to my order and they told me they can't touch the bagel without me, putting anything on, I'm not sure why they know me as a good customer when I told them they just lost me as a customer. Great neighborhood bagel spot! It's a weekend tradition for my family to stop in there to grab bagels and breakfast sandwiches. Bacon, Egg, and cheese is my go to. I've never had a bad experience there in all the times going there. They even bailed me out one time with a 6 foot hero for a party when my caterer canceled. This place is more than just bagels! I like bagels that are fat and doughy and Pio does 'em like that...the kind of bagels you don't want toasted because they're still soft and warm until early afternoon. That works for me. Creative homemade cream cheese flavors: scallion (delish) and olive (my fave). For all the years I've been going to Pio, though, I've never had the stomach to try anything else. It's not exactly the cleanest looking place. It might be very clean as breakfast grills go for all I know but a whole bunch of different oily ingredients cooking on one small grill next to a 3 ft high stack of bacon isn't my style. I'll stick with a simple everything bagel with scallion or olive cream cheese. Simple. They do simple well enough for me. I've been to better, cleaner, more modernized, trendier, and bigger shoes with more variety throughout the city and NJ but for a simple bagel in Woodrow, this'll do. read more

Bagels are precisely what you'd expect from a fine NYC bagel establishment: big, fluffy, delicious, and served with a very thick New York accent. I've tried the "pump" (aka, pumpernickel) bagel, egg, egg everything, and French toast. Be aware that the French toast bagels are limited in quantity. If you get to Pio Hot Bagels after around 11am, there will be no more French toast bagels. Sad! Pio nails it with consistency and taste. You can't go wrong. It just gets a little bit crowded in there in the mornings. There are only two tables to seat yourself, with two chairs each. The ambiance is the furthest thing from fine dining, but that's not what you go there for. Come here for your perfect grab-and-go NY bagel. You'll be very happy with your choice. read more

This deli has great Boar's Head cold cuts. They have Boar's Head ham $9/lb at least $2/lb less than neighboring stores. I like to get cold cuts here. Their bagels and rolls are not the best. Their bagels were such a hit at my local team meetings that myself and a coworker now take a CARRY ON filled with their bagels whenever we travel to Chicago or Rhode Island for work. The French toast ones were my bosses favorite!! First place I bring family when they visit and are looking for a NYC bagel. My parents also ordered from them this summer a few times- the sandwiches were huge, fresh, and delicious. We had American, Italian, and chicken cutlet w roasted peppers. Bagels are very good and always fresh. Two very good bagel stores in the area with Heartland Bagels being the other. Lines are a bit more manageable at Pios as heartland is regularly out the door with slow help. That being said, both are very good but heartland gets the thumbs up here with Pio very close behind. This place has great tasting bagels, they just have to get people that pay attention to detail. They have their own specialty cream cheese mixtures, so I asked for bacon cream cheese which is a bacon cheddar cream cheese. Bagels are a mess! they wrap in tin foil 4 times then when you go to eat it ,it falls everywhere. The bosses talk to much bs with the guys. I was there today and asked for three chicken cutlet wraps and the girl gave me one then took an extra 20 minutes to wait for the other 2. I'm giving it a 2 star only because the bagels are delicious. The customer service here is absolutely the worst !!!!!!! my husband and I always give them the benefit of the doubt and continue to come here. after today, never again. I never ever write a bad review. they are continuously nasty. They close at 2 o'clock but when you come in at 12:30 they tell you that they can't make you any more eggs. My family has owned a restaurant for over 20 years and my mother would never ever turn away somebody an hour and a half before closing because they don't want to make eggs so they don't have to clean the grill. I even try calling ahead of time sometimes to give them enough time and even on the phone they are so rude and they tell you to just come in. I will never come back here again. it's sad because the bagels are so good but the way that they treat us and the way that they are put such a bad taste in our mouth that it's not even worth it. read more

Terrible. The employees including the owner don't use gloves when taking bagels out of display or use same contaminated glove that they handle money and preparing food. Reuse tissue paper occasionally when owners father is working to remove bagels from display. No hair restraint worn by workers. Very poor process and cleanliness standards, Dept of health should investigate. read more

Good bagels. Staff is rude. The high glass makes it hard to hear when ordering. When you walk in you see a mess of people and there's no real system. Getting back to the staff. People are rude and seem annoyed you are there. The one guy is always chewing food with his mouth open while talking and preparing your order, pretty gross. I made the mistake of going there this morning actually wanting something specific. I asked for scrambled eggs and sausage and for the god only knows how many time, I didn't get what I asked for. I also asked for toast with butter. I got toast no butter. I know they know how to use butter because the bagel I got for my kid was basically in butter soup.
