There's something in the water coming off the mountains of New Hampshire that make these bagels better than any in the 5 boroughs. Yeah, I'm talking to you Brooklyn. More than just bagels. When we are in North Conway for breakfast we always have to hit up Bagels Plus. Their bagels are always fresh and flavorful. The staff are friendly and efficient. My husband had sausage, egg and cheese in an everything bagel, I had a Asiago bagel with plain cream cheese and my daughter had a cinnamon roll. This place has some darn good bagels and a very friendly staff. I got the The Bomb on a Brossaint and it was loaded with meat and so good! My wife got the Cathedral Ledge and it looked great as well. We have always frequented this bagel establishment in North Conway despite them taking a lifetime to make the simplest of bagel orders, but today we are truly horrified. We were waiting and had clear sight into the kitchen, where one woman in one pair of gloves was making ALL of the breakfast sandwiches without switching out her gloves in between touching raw bacon and other items. From a sanitary perspective, absolutely unacceptable. And when we brought it up, another woman behind the counter was extremely confrontational and said it would not be possible for them to handle our sandwiches with a new pair of gloves as opposed to the gloves covered in raw bacon slime. She begrudgingly made ours for us so we could avoid salmonella poisoning. Aside from that blatant health code violation, the woman making breakfast sandwiches with said contaminated gloves also took it upon herself to LICK her gloved finger after she touched food. We tried this place last year during our vacation and the experience was awesome. However, if you're ordering online and expecting to get what you ordered, look somewhere else. Every bagel we ordered was out of stock and was automatically substituted with a plain. If we wanted plain bagels, we would've gone to Dunkin! Best bagels in the area. While I don't think they are comparable to the bagels at home (not sure that they boil the bagels and they do not have the slightly sour taste that I like), they are decent and it's unlikely you'll find anything close to as good without leaving the state. Dozen (12, not bakers dozen) runs $10 and it is best to call ahead and leave a voice mail message because they seem to mainly bake overnight and do not bake in large quantities, so they won't be able to fulfill dozen+ bagel orders easily if you don't place your order ahead of time. read more

We were in the area for a weekend stay and decided to get bagels our first morning. As someone whose parents were born in raised in Brooklyn, NY, I know good bagels. And my friend is from NY as well. So, we were quite skeptical of NH bagels. And boy, were we WRONG. These bagels were fresh, delicious and the perfect softness (not too chewy or hard). They have such an amazing variety of flavor choices, it was so hard to pick just 1 dozen! And plenty of cream cheese flavors - including low-fat, which tasted full-fat. My friend and I stumbled in here because it was one of the last places to grab a sandwich before heading into White Mountain National Forest for the day. I'm from New Jersey, so I *know* great bagels and I was pleasantly surprised at how good these were! On the smaller side but great texture and flavor with lots of interesting and unexpected flavors. Plus, great sandwiches that were sturdy enough to last for a few hikes throughout the day. When they heard we were hiking they even wrapped the pickles separately so they'd keep longer. Got a Canadian bacon, egg and American cheese on a toasted everything bagel. The bagel itself was good. Nice texture and good flavor. The proportions on the sandwich were way off. The egg was dense, uniformly yellow and probably over an inch thick. Not sure how the eggs were prepared or whether they were from a container or shell, but I didn't enjoy the texture or flavor. There was a thin layer of Canadian bacon and the American cheese was visible, but not noticeable flavor-wise. The sandwich needed a lot less egg and/or more stuff to balance the flavors. Staff was friendly. I would return for a bagel, but probably not an egg sandwich. read more

These were some of the best bagels, outside of New York, that I have had the pleasure to enjoy. We ordered everything bagels, though there are plenty to choose from. The bagels were fresh and soft, and very tasty. Service was fast and friendly. Plenty of tables inside for you to enjoy your food. Can't wait till we are up north again so we can try a sandwich here. I would like to give you 5 stars but I want you to read this review. First off staff seems super friendly even being so busy and the food is great but......... We followed your signs, placed an order, go somewhere, wait receive text messages about order status. Get in line when your order is ready for pickup. It's a great system but obviously people don't follow it and decide to order then get in line and hold everything up. We waited an additional 30 minutes because people in front of us were in line that never received confirmation their order is ready. Whoever was in the Pilot or Odyssey was really messing things up. I actually sent my wife out to the pickup window after waiting 20 minutes behind this person. She asked if anyone received the "your order is ready" txt amazingly no standing in line did. Why would you show up and congest a place if your order isn't ready. Go in the back parking lot hang out, kick a hacky sack, smoke something good, don't clog up their system. Suggestion under the signs that say place your order by phone or internet. Place another sign that says "Did you receive your order is complete message?" Yes get in line, if "No" make like the Nights that Say Ni and "Run Away, Run Away" unless you have a shrubbery. Again our wait wasn't the people who work their fault BUT the people who order then show up and clog the line up. It's simple follow instructions! Hmm.. I think I had too high of expectations based on others reviews, so I'm a little let down. They do have a large menu and a huge selection of bagels, including some unique ones! However I found the bagels to be extremely average! The everything bagel was too salty and the Asiago didn't have much of a cheesy flavor (or any flavor really). I also hates the microwaved egg on our breakfast sandwiches. I even found the veggie cream cheese to be extremely bland! Overall, not the worst bagels I've ever had.. Ordered breakfast here twice. First time had a 30 minute wait after ordering online. Tasted good so came back day 2. Day 2 had similar 30 minute wait for orders placed online. After getting the bagels, it was was wrong. We couldn't wait another 30 minutes for them to get an order right. This is my stop before I head out on a long bike ride in the mountains. The staff are friendly, fun and hard working. The bagels are delicious, fresh and fit in jersey pockets perfectly. When we arrived, there were two other cars, probably also confused as we were on how to actual place an order here. I'm a local to the valley and have been visiting Bagels Plus for nearly 10 years. I placed an online order on a busy summer weekend afternoon. The wait was long, but we're used to that around here in the summer. However, upon arrival, there was some sort of mix up. My order and payment had gone through, but they never made the order. "No problem," I thought, I'll just grab a seat. As I'm sitting waiting, an employee comes out and rattles off my order, and tells me they can't complete one of the items as we had originally requested. The attitude of the employee was distinctly confrontational, condescending, and suggested that I was somehow at fault for not knowing they couldn't offer an item as ordered through their website. And before I could ask what the alternative options were, the employee says something like "Never mind, I'll just figure it out I guess" and stormed off back behind the counter. I was left wondering: did I do something wrong, here? For the next 10 minutes, I sat at the table, while the employee complained about the situation and my apparent misunderstanding of their menu? All the while, there are several other customers observing. One of the owners then came over to me and explained more calmly what the issue was. I calmly explained what was happening, and that I simply didn't get the chance to ask what my alternative options for my original order would be before the employee stormed off. While I appreciated the owner coming over, I did not appreciate being put in that frankly embarrassing situation to begin with; I felt like an annoyance and an inconvenience. I did not feel like a customer. I didn't care about the need for a substitution. But I did not appreciate the rude and condescending attitude of the employee, as well as the complaining that could be heard across the restaurant. All over a fried egg. After coming here for nearly a decade, I'll be taking my business elsewhere for a while. read more

We come here almost every time we are in town. Their bagel sandwiches are perfect to fill you up in the morning and prep you for a day of adventure in the Whites, and the folks who work here brighten up our day. They're super friendly and helpful - you can see why they have so many repeat customers. (Doesn't hurt that the prices are pretty great, too!) I particularly like the chipotle bagel, and the 'brossaint' is also delicious if you're looking for something a little different from the normal bagel. The bacon horseradish cream cheese is very horseradish-y; I sometimes love/crave it when I come in, and sometimes need something a bit more mellow to start my day. Love you guys! Got 5 different flavors and they gave all plain instead of letting us exchange for the different kids they had all they said was nope. And wouldn't give a refund. I love this place and came twice before climbing this past weekend. An egg sando on their whole wheat everything bagel is to die for. Friends had the spinach garlic bagel and loved it as well. They are efficient even when busy, jovial staff, mediocre coffee. Sandwiches and staff make up for the coffee which did do the trick but is not why I go there. I purchased the vegan jalapeño bagel with egg and bacon. I was happily surprised with how amazing everything was.
