On Christmas Eve this place was open and taking orders! I went here and picked up two dozen assorted bagels and called the day before I arrived and placed my orders. I told my family (of 15 people total) that I would provide breakfast for all of them and what easy way to do that by ordering an array of bagels! They have all kids of flavors such as: poppyseed, everything, plain, Asiago, cheddar and jalapeño, cinnamon raisin and etc. I also grabbed a few tubs of freshly made cream cheese. They have an assortment from: plain, strawberry, veggie, honey nut, cookies and cream, peppermint bark and etc . I ordered the plain, strawberry and peppermint bark. I also ordered three bagels with bacon egg and cheese for the guys in my family who need some more substance aka meat in their breakfast meal. The bagels were a great hit! I managed to feed 15 adults, some teenagers and toddlers by ordering two dozen bagels and assortment of cream cheeses and spent less than $35 and I think that's a steel in comparison of how many people I had to feed. They raved about the bagels and ate their lives away. Towards the end, there were no more bagels in sight. They were all gobbled up. I highly recommend! Unfortunately I have to update my review because the past four times I've come here, my order has been messed up or there's some inconvenience/issue. This time I got a bacon and tomato melt- there was no tomato & the bacon was burnt. Last time I called in my order and was told they were out of cheese bagels but when I went in to pick up, there was still a couple cheese bagels in the basket. Etc. Bagels R Us is a great bagel shop located in Jacksonville, Florida that makes me miss my home state of New Jersey. Bagels down here cannot compare to the bagels of the northeast so when I heard about here I headed over, but was prepared to be disappointed. Boy, was I wrong. Walking in I had every intention of getting a bagel with cream cheese, but when I saw on the menu that they had Taylor ham, egg, and cheese, I had to order it. For those not familiar with it, Taylor ham, or pork roll, is a New Jersey breakfast staple. Where other states might rave about bacon, we know that Taylor ham is the king of breakfast meats. I had my sandwich on an everything bagel and both the complete sandwich and the bagel itself were fantastic. This place knows how to make a bagel. The bagels are very good with good texture and flavor. I'm not a bagel sandwich person, but my companion enjoyed her bacon, egg and cheese sandwich. I am a toasted bagel with cream cheese person, and if I had any complaint, it'd be there's just too much cream cheese. I usually get two toasted bagel with cream cheese on only one, then I redistribute. I've been to three locations, I think that's all of them. My favorite is the one off A1A as it has outside seating. I spotted Bagels R Us on a map when looking for something else- I have drive right past them so many times over the years- but now that I am on the Atlantic side of town~ they are within reach! It still took me too long to come in and give them a try! 8am on a Tuesday morning and the line was out the door~ not surprising for a good bagel joint! I was trying to see the options for bagels and breakfast sandwiches that I completely forgot to look at the various spreads/cream cheese options! I know- blasphemous. I ordered a bacon-egg-cheese on a croissant, because that is one of my breakfast favorites- but I couldn't not get a bagel, right??? So I also ordered an onion bagel, lightly toasted with cream cheese (regular- because I am not good at answering questions on the spot). Next time- I'll try bacon cheddar and ask for the cream cheese on the side! I wanted to tear into the sandwich in the car but mentally reprimanded myself that I needed to take a picture of it before devouring it. I could smell it in the car and my stomach was growling! Once at work- I regarded the wrapped sandwich as a present- just for me! And it was- absolutely delicious. I also unwrapped the bagel and laughed- out loud- look at all that cream cheese!!! I took 2 bites and wrapped it up for lunch. 1. Breakfast sandwich: eggs cooked perfectly- not over cooked. Cheese melted nicely, bacon was plentiful and lightly crispy- croissant was buttery, flaky deliciousness. 2. Onion Bagel: perfect blend of dense bread with plenty of flavor (I think next time I will go everything)- cream cheese, no wanting of more to finish your bagel- there is plenty, in fact there was too much for me. BUT- if you order it on the side, then you have leftover you can use and not waste it! 3. Service- even though the line was steady- they have it down to a science. Orders taken, tickets passed to the front man who handled all the bread products to prep for anything the kitchen needed and called out eggs down, bacon and such. He toasted everything and put it in the window and told the kitchen what to make- a few minutes later the wrapped presents appeared in the window to be bagged for the customer. Pleasant efficiency! I already mentioned this, but this is so cheap and filling. In the first place, bagels are already more filling than most other types of dough. But, the ones here are even more solid than your average bagels, and they have a bewildering variety: from onion, to blueberry, chocolate chip, scallion, raisin, plain, whole grain, etc. etc. etc. So far, my favorite item is probably the sausage melt. The sausage they use for these are extra THICC and meaty. The cheese is a generous layer of almost perfectly melted provolone. Combine that with the ridiculous bagels, (and maybe the ridiculous portion of cream cheese) and I dare say many stomachs are leaving this establishment stuffed on $5. When I stuff myself here, it doesn't feel like fast food full either. It feels more like the power breakfast bowl at Kairos. Of course, just looking at the ingredients, it's pretty difficult to argue that this is as healthy as Kairos, so maybe it's just my taste buds talking. But, it still feels like I'm putting good stuff in my body when I eat here. You know what I mean? This turned into one of my favorite breakfast stops somehow. Five stars. read more

Walked in at noon on a Thursday and WOW it was busy! All the bagel flavors except 3 had sold out. I had a plain bagel toasted with cream cheese. This was a disappointing experience. This place was recommended and the staff member Steven was very rude. My daughter has a service dog and Steven gave us a funny look once we walked in. I began to place my order and Steven asked my daughter if the dog was a service animal and she said yes.. he then told her she can place her order and wait outside until her order was ready...I asked him what did he say to my daughter and he said "I asked if the dog was a service dog" and I said she told you yes why would tell her to wait outside??? He then brushed it off like that's why asked. I told him she clearly told you "YES" So we sat inside and ate. To my surprise Steven had to make the bagel I ordered and he put so much cream cheese on I thought it was deliberate.. I have however read many rants regarding New York bagels and New York water, how you don't need to toast a quality bagel, blah blah blah blah blah. The establishment is unassuming but it's another example of how a book shouldn't be judged by its cover. Service was ok - not overly friendly or welcoming - but helpful just barely enough. I ordered a dozen to go half sweet and not sweet. There wasn't an abundance of sweet bagels like us "southerners" are accustomed to but they make up for with the many flavors of spreads. When I got to the office, I decided to only toast half of my bagel and would give the NY taste test a shot. Let me tell you, this to me was a quality bagel. A little edge with a light chew and I could definitely see what the appeal is all about. Can a bagel be described as divine? YES! I've seen Bagels R Us' 3rd St location but on this morning's errand run, I happened upon the Beach Blvd shop instead. I can never seem to catch them during business hours but today I stopped in around 1:00 with 30 minutes to spare. I wanted an egg bagel but they were already sold out for the day. No worries, I went with the plain bagel instead. I noticed they offered an egg and Taylor ham bagel sandwich. I've heard of Taylor ham (also known as pork roll); it's a Jersey/Pennsylvania delicacy. I opted for scallion cream cheese and also added a slice of cheese as an extra. You guys...this was easily one of the best bagels I've ever had, no exaggeration. Chewy, dense and warm, this NY style bagel was everything a great bagel should be. Lightly toasted, the ratio of ingredients was perfectly balanced, not too much of one thing or another. I tasted a bit of the ham by itself. Well-salted, it's definitely different from any other ham I've eaten before. But it's the cream cheese that really puts it over the top. It should be called silk cheese because the texture was more silky than creamy, with tons of little green onions throughout it. It practically melted into the bagel and pork. It spilled out of the sides with each chewy bite. Be prepared to grab napkins. This isn't your store-bought Philadelphia cream cheese. My sandwich was huge, of course, as a proper NY style bagel should be. I forgot to ask them to cut it in half but was happy to see it was already cut when I unwrapped it from its paper. I could only manage to eat half and let me tell you, I am eyeballing the other half with some serious side eye right now. I'm full but I'm patiently waiting until I'm hungry so I can enjoy it and savor it later instead of being greedy now and making myself sick. Panera Bread who? Einstein Bros what? Bagels R Us is by far and away better than anything you can get at a chain. I'll be back this week to repeat this order but on an egg bagel as I'd originally planned. The girl who took my order gave me the head's up and recommended calling my order in next time because apparently egg bagels are a hot seller. I also can't wait to try their other bagels and variety of cream cheese flavors. I imagine they get a lot of business early in the mornings and if I were a morning person, I'd certainly grab a bagel or sandwich more often. I usually grab an everything bagel with lox with everything (onion, tomato, caper) and recently the chive cream cheese which has paired nicely on it. The veggies are nice and fresh and offset the saltiness from the cream cheese and lox. I've also had the cinnamon apple cream cheese which is definitely a nice "dessert" flavor and nice and sweet. If you're in the area, grab a bagel and grab a half dozen to take home!
