What choice does one have but to love Bagelsmith if you live in North Williamsburg? It is literally the only real bagel place around. The bagels are also great. And today I finally saw a longtime employee (maybe a manager) who had been absent for awhile & runs the place extremely well. She cares about customers & seems aware of the fact that we want to place orders, get our food/drinks & leave. However! Over the past 3-4 years Bagelsmith's customer service in general has *really* deteriorated. People taking orders mess them up, there's always a huge delay between ordering, paying & getting what you paid for, regardless of how many people are in the store. I've been there Saturday mornings when everyone wants bagels & the cashier is atrocious. I've been there at 6:30 am on a weekday trying to pick up a simple order for office bagels that somehow got screwed up. I've been there at 3 am with a friend as the only two people there and it's taken longer to get a bagel and tea than it takes to knit a sweater. The few times I've been to the other Bagelsmith location near Lorimer, it has been a lot better, fwiw. I hope the company can get its act together on northside because it prevents people like me from wanting to even walk inside. read more

A couple of years ago after having dinner in Williamsburg and walking around town we stumbled upon Bagelsmith; since it was open we thought why not get some bagels for breakfast. We never forgot those bagels, so were thrilled when we found it again and they were just as good as we had remembered. The perfect amount of crust crunch and the inside is lighter than you would imagine. Which is great because you don't feel like you have a lump in your stomach after eating one. The Egg and Whole Wheat bagels are solid 4.5 star quality (only say Zuckers is better, but they don't make Egg bagels there)...the only real downside to Bagelsmith's is there cream cheese is a little too soft, so if you toast the bagel (which is integral) the cream cheese becomes too goopy. I came here yesterday on my way to church and WOW--these bagels are sooo good! Bagelsmith on Bedford Ave is a small bagel shop and it was packed but the line moved quickly and the employees were very efficient with getting the orders, making the food and getting to to the customers. It's really convenient to get to--it's right off of the Bedford Ave. stop on the L train. I got a toasted Pumpernickel Everything bagel with Scallion Tofu Cream Cheese. The bagel was nice and chewy and had a lot of flavor. The Scallion Tofu Cream Cheese was so amazing that it had be questioning if it was really made out of tofu! This is easily one of the best bagels that I have had. They give a good amount of cream cheese and they toast the bagel just right. The bagels are moist and delicious! They have a lot of vegan options for spreads and sandwich toppings. Also, the price isn't so bad for Williamsburg. My bagel came up to 4 bucks. I will definitely be coming back here to try their different menu items! P.s. I LOVE that they don't have a credit card minimum (that's very hard to find in NYC). read more

They have several locations throughout the city but this is my favorite spot because the people working there are so friendly. The most recent time I went was with my 85 year old grandma. Not only do they have bomb bagels and spreads but they also offer more for the carb conscious/meatless people out there. Omelettes and vegan selections and more.
