Say what you will about chain restaurants, but I don't have anything against them - particularly 'Bahama Breeze' - which in my opinion is one of the better ones. Bahama Breeze is a bit schizophrenic in theme and concept; the decor is "island" themed and while there are a few mildly influenced Caribbean dishes, the menu is a wide mix of Tex-Mex, seafood, bar fare, and even a bit of Asian fusion thrown in there. Which really didn't bother me much, especially since I quite enjoyed the food we had. For an appetizer, we had the 'Ahi Tuna Stack' ("sushi grade ahi tuna marinated in Ponzu sauce with pickled cucumber and pineapple salsa, stacked between crispy wontons"); it was a pretty small serving, definitely only enough for one, but it was tasty. I love ahi tuna, it's hard for me to resist, if it's on the menu, chances are I'll have it. I really enjoyed the concept of the app, the wontons, ahi tuna, and pineapple salsa is a great combination. The ahi tuna wasn't the best I've ever had - it wasn't all that fresh tasting - but by no means was it the worst. For my entree I had the 'Grilled Chicken with Cilantro Crema' (a filet of chicken with " hand-mashed potatoes and roasted corn topped with a blend of three melted cheeses drizzled with cilantro-crema sauce"); the mashed potatoes were solid - it came with two "bunny ears" of fried plantains - yums! The chicken was well cooked and seasoned - I really liked the flavors. The cilantro-crema sauce came on the side in a sauce bowl rather than "drizzled" on the other components, and it was delicious. I'd never even heard of 'cilantro crema' before, but after having this entree, I crave it on a regular basis. Everyone at the table also really enjoyed it, using bits of it as dip/condiment. The service was excellent, they handled our party of eight very smoothly and efficiently. Our servers were friendly, patient, and personable, all of our dishes/appetizers/drinks arrived almost simultaneously. It gets pretty crowded on the evenings - especially on the weekend - if you're planning to dine here, call ahead for a shorter wait. read more

Never thought I would be one to enjoy Bahama Breeze, but there food is just damn good, not to mention those Bahama Mama's. My favorite is the jerk chicken and rice, it's just a classic and must have for me. I could me here probably a couple times a year and the place is always busy and food and drinks are always consistently good. Parking can can tight as there is construction in the parking lot adjacent to the restaurant (as of 9/2019). Or just use their valet parking. read more

I came here last night for dinner with my husband. It was crowded on Friday night. We were seated promptly. The menus were dirty- still had food crumbs in it- gross. The food however made up for that. The supreme pina colada is out of this world. Be sure to try it. The habanero wings from appetizer section of the menu is excellent- there are so many wings that 2-3 people can eat it. I got some shrimp linguine (from seafood section of menu) with Caesar salad. Ok, so I've been wanting to try this place out for a while, so this past weekend, for my sister's birthday we headed out there, in hopes that we'd be getting a different type of cuisine!! And boy do we know how to pick them, because the food was DELICIOUS!!! Then you walk in, and it's like you're vacationing in Bahamas (ok maybe a BIT of an exaggeration...LoL).... So we started our meal off with an appetizer (Tostones with Chicken), which was so yummy!! It was basically like "nachos" with a twist. It had banana chips covered with chicken, cheese, mushrooms, etc. Then me and my mom ordered the Bahamian Grilled Kabob, which was a chicken (or steak) skewer served over rice. It was absolutely delicious, especially with a little side of jerk sauce (only if you want to add some spice to it). My sister had salmon, and it was also very tasty. I just love this place. The patio is so chill..with fans (a must), completely covered; there's a big fire pit and live entertainment on certain nights. If you are feeling social (mingle, mingle) then go on a Thurs or Friday. I always meet new folks whenever I go and sit at the bar. :) Whenever I'm at the outside patio and left to my own devices; I tend to slide into a reverie where I'm at a Tiki bar in the REAL Bahamas. I think it's the drums. Lol Food.. I generally only order the Coconut Shrimp which is always consistently perfect. In the past - I've nibbled on the jerk chicken pasta (nice); the jerk chicken wings (they are super sized which freaks me out), beef empanadas (also good) and finally my FAVE is the their Fresh Market Fish specials which consist of grilled, almond crusted or seared fish, a veg and mashed sweet potatoes or some other starch. That's where BB really shines. And half the time they don't advertise this special. So if you're watching your waist line - I strongly suggest the fish special! That Drank.. One of my favorite places to go to. Rarely come to this location, but had a truly unforgettable experience. Our waitress, was great she made great suggestions and opinions on selections but me and my buddy know what we want we when we dine here. We ended up with the spinach dip and chips, the Jamaican wings.. I got the Killer Bee (on the sweet side but has kick.. would get again) and he had the Pain Killer. Later we ordered chicken quesadillas. Food and drinks were satisfying as usual.We were just about done when it went bad. My buddy noticed something behind me.. and told me not to move but.. well.. anywho...Yeah, it was a brown bug. He told our waitress she sorta made a joke and that was that. When a business has a incident that happens outside the norm you should compensate your patrons. Bahama Breeze is a good chain to dine at. The Caribbean-inspired food is delicious. My first time at this specific location (a few days ago) and the experience was OK. Mostly due to our waitress assuming my party of 3 were "underage kids" and didn't give us a drink menu. You NEVER assume-- ridiculous. My friend nicely addressed that issue to our waitress. We eventually received a new waitress for the whole time being for some odd reason. Minor problem. FOOD: The food here was on point for the most part. -Firecracker Shrimp: this was our appetizer and it was delish. the sauce really complemented the lightly-battered shrimp. -Carnitas: my friend ordered this and it was okay. she likes pork, chorizo sausage, and yellow rice so it was perfect. it's flavorful though! a cumin-citrus sauce that's served over the rice. -Fish Tacos: this was okay and mediocre. 3 fish tacos with french fries. keptchup and some cream sauce that didn't taste too well to accompany the fish tacos. meh. -Blackened Red Grouper with Cinnamon Sweet Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans: this was my entree. I stuck with a fresh fish of the day and got it blackened. it was pretty good, but way too SALTY. they either got a little excited seasoning my fish or they make it like that, but it was too salty. it was cooked perfectly though. my sides were good especially the sweet mashed potatoes-- perfect on the cinnamon added. it was not overly sweetened. green beans were bland. Ok, I ordered what looked like one of the healthier non-salad items on the menu: oven-baked salmon with chimichurri and yellow rice + green beans, but boy that was soaking in oil (both the fish and the beans). From a 09/09/2020 visit at 7pm EDT. NOTE: I havent been to this location in at least 15 years prior to this visit. So first, COVID-19 concerns. There is a disjointed and haphazard enforcement of whatever measures the management has put in place related to COVID-19. 1. The hostess stand is directly in the doorway. They have closed the seating/waiting area, but people leaving the restaurant (WITHOUT MASKS!) have to walk right past you to get out. Also, the hostess stand being right there causes a crowd of people trying to get seated. This is supposed to be safe? 2. They are clearly allowing masks to be optional. I saw many people being seated that didnt have on masks. I even saw a group of 5 new employees being trained that had two new employees wearing their masks below their noses. If the TRAINER of new employees doesnt know how a mask is supposed to be worn, how do you expect the new employees to know. 3. Seating. They have very high backed booths, so they arent skipping booths like many other restaurants. That's fine, but they sat 5 people at the booth behind me, so one person pulled up a chair facing the table as well as facing me while he ate. Again, is this supposed to be safe? Decor: It's an island vibe, but honestly, this place is a little tired. The colors on fabrics are faded andit's dark in the restaurant (It was still daylight when we went). It's time to spruce up or clean. It just felt old and tired. SERVICE: Our server was generally fantastic. She was very attentive. I wish I had her name, but couldnt hear through the mask. The only thing she did not do was explain the table top ordering system. If she had, we wouldnt have had to keep looking for her. I finally did see you culd order from it which was very easy, with descriptions of drinks and desserts. Food: Most of the food was just so-so. Our food arrived incredibly fast once we ordered. (Wait...that's a good thing-right?) No...it's not. It was so fast, that the food had to be already sitting. And the temperature of our food showed it. Nothing was hot, everything was lukewarm. Appetizer: Beef Empenadas: Good. And the hottest (by temperature) dish we had. Comes with two dipping sauces. One is a creamier one that goes better, the other is (I think) a sweet and spicy sauce. It really is just sweet. My only complaints are that there isnt enough filling in these and they werent fried long enough. Here is what my party had (I tasted everything); -Seafood Paella. So this was OK. The seafood wasnt fresh, it wasnt really paella, just a seafood rice dish. If you think of it that way, it was ok. -Ropa Vieja. Again OK. This is shredded beef with cheese with fried plaintains over rice and beans. It was lukewarm and very so-so. -Coconut Shrimp. Still not hot. The dipping sauce was really just sweet and flavorless - they didnt need it. The shrimp themselves were certainly from a food supplier, not fresh made, but decent quality. They just werent fried in oil hot enough to get them crispy. -Dessert. Key lime pie. Very good. "Seemed" home made or bakery made. A large portion. We all shared it and still didnt finish it. Alcoholic drinks. The bar is on point.Very quick and flavorful, Caribbean inspired drinks. No complaints. Conclusion....It's OK ... Just ok. read more

The server quickly took our drinks order and I never had to ask for a refill, she was pretty attentive. I order the coconut shrimp, which looked like a small portion at first but I had trouble finishing it. The dipping sauce went perfect with the coconut flavor of the shrimp. My date got a chicken pasta that offered different size portions which was awesome, since she doesn't eat that much. Came here on a Friday night around 9:15p with my daughter and her friend. I'm typically not a fan of these chains but this is where they wanted to go. When we walked in, I was not thrilled to see approximately 30 ppl waiting to be seated. So, off to the bar we go. We each had a drink (two pina coladas and one goombay smash) at $7 each, which I thought was reasonable. A few sips into our drinks and our buzzer lit up. It is real easy to forget your in Atlanta and not on a tropical island. The food I ordered is excellent beginning with the drink "Pina Colada", the calamari appetizer is the best I ever had. We drove by, decided to come on a whim, and we we're not disappointed! It was packed, but our party of five was seated immediately. The specialty drinks were really good. I got a virgin bahamarita that was especially flavorful. Food came out quickly, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The only hang up was that they were out of the sandwich I ordered, and I had to wait a while to be informed about it. However, when the manager did inform us about the sandwich, she offered to replace it with anything else I wanted, plus I received a $20 gift card at the end. I was disappointed about them being out of the sandwich I wanted, but I understand; it was really packed, and the end of the day. Not only was that situation handled well, but our server was also very friendly and attentive. I also have to give them props for the atmosphere. It seems like a nice place for a date; especially if you sit on the patio when they have live music.
