I'm also not a fan of the Florida look with fish tanks and palm trees. The Avalon's Rickhouse Speakeasy, hidden in plain sight in the dinning area, is amazing and deserves 5 stars of its own. However, they don't have their own listing on Yelp, I combined my review. The service at the Rickhouse was excellent and the atmosphere was fantastic (extra cool at the moment because it was decorated for Halloween already and everything in there was fun!). Looking for a fun experience and a great cocktail? Go to the Rickhouse! Looking for a great meal? Try the Taphouse instead.

The waitress couldn't have been nicer and checked on us just the right number of times. The prices are reasonable, but the dinner portion sizes are on the small side. The person I was with the got a basket meal and the basket comes loaded with fries. So, the more bang for your buck seems to be if you go in that route. I got the Cajun Mahi Mahi with broccoli and mashed potatoes. The fish was slightly over cooked and on the dry side plus needed more seasoning in my opinion. The have a very decent sized bar with plenty of drinks to choose from and good specials. I was a little disappointed in my fish being over cooked, but I loved everything else about this place and will be back to try something different.

I went off the grid and got the chicken strips which come with french fries and mac & cheese, and it was really good. Their sauce that they make was outstanding. The bartenders need to learn how to make a normal martini when you order a martini it is not filled properly in the martini glass. It's very short in our humble opinion if you're paying for a drink, it should be done properly in a few centimeters below the rim. But other than that, we absolutely love Chili's. You can't beat the price and you can't beat the food.

A burger in one place is much the same as a burger in any other? Ha!…read more The Blue & Gray Bar & Grill, right in the center of historic Gettysburg, goes one better. We'd spent an entire day touring the battlefield, it's a Saturday, and the town is full of tourists. No surprise we had a thirty minute wait for a table. But once inside and seated, it was clear to us that the B & G was no ordinary bar & grill. The burgers are themed for generals, both Federal and Confederate, who took part in the battle. Each burger is characterized by the general it's named for. The General Buford, for example, is served with bleu cheese crumbles and horseradish (he's a cavalry officer, get it?) and the Robert E. Lee features a slab of Virginia ham. I ordered the General George Meade. Meade was a Pennsylvanian, so naturally this burger comes with a pile of Philly cheesesteak. A carnivore's delight, to be sure. No complaints here. And if I'm ever back this way, I'm curious to try the General Longstreet: it's served with carmelized onions and peanut butter. That's gotta be good.

Lots of different wing choices too. Very little choices for entrées. More like an afterthought. Our waitress, bless her heart looked overwhelmed. I asked for a specific type of beer. "Oh im a girl, I dont know beers" say what? Then hands me a hand written list of beers to choose from. Also she totally forgot to put in one of the orders, for a table of 7. Yea, how do you miss a whole meal??? I asked for a medium burger, got medium rare. Along with cold fries. Who eats rare burgers??? The burger was delicious, but too rare for me (got the blue cheese one, named after some general) Overall I wouldn't recommend this place unless all you want is burgers and wings. Cause thats all they have. Oh and expect to wait in line with everyone else for a table. The place is smaller than it looks.

We came in about an hour before closing, and our server Aedan was absolutely wonderful. She was energetic, sweet and attentive, and never made us feel rushed. Easily some of the best service we've had in a long time. We started with the Supreme Nachos, and these are definitely meant to SHARE! They were HUGE and absolutely loaded. The housemade chips were incredibly crispy, and I loved the addition of banana peppers. They added a tangy bite and different kind of heat alongside the jalapeños. Some of the best nachos we've had outside of a Mexican restaurant, and our table of four still only finished about half! My mother-in-law got the Reuben with onion rings and said it was the BEST Reuben she's ever had. That says a lot because it's one of her usual orders when eating out. She especially loved how flavorful and tender the corned beef was. My husband got the Tuesday special of 3 steak tacos for $10. The steak was tender and tasted like quality cuts of beef. His only criticism was that it could use more seasoning and that a housemade spicy ranch or signature sauce could really take the tacos to the next level. I got the fish and chips, and the haddock was MASSIVE! The thin, crispy batter stayed perfectly attached, and the fish was hot, flaky and tender. The very thin tail end was slightly dry, but it was such a small portion that it didn't take away from the meal. The biggest surprise was their housemade tartar sauce. Creamy, tangy and slightly sweet from the relish. Hands down my favorite tartar sauce I've had! The seasoned battered waffle fries were also delicious, and they give you a TON. The coleslaw wasn't personally my preferred style since I like a finely minced, sweeter and juicier slaw, while theirs was longer shredded and drier, but that's completely personal preference. Portions here are HUGE, so several meals could easily be shared or give you plenty of leftovers. We also loved the cozy neighborhood pub atmosphere with exposed brick, dark wood, baseball and Eddie Plank memorabilia, and moodier lighting. Between the food, atmosphere, huge portions and especially Aedan's wonderful service, Gettysburg Eddie's has officially earned a spot in our Gettysburg rotation. We can't wait to come back!

We were there on a busy Saturday; they were clearly slammed and probably understaffed, and it took a bit over 20 minutes after ordering to get our food. Other than the wait for the kitchen, the service at the table was very good. It felt a bit pricey at about $62 for two with tip. Cheesesteaks were good but on the small side for $17 and $19 (the latter on a gluten‑free bun), and a little light on the Cheese Whiz. That, plus a cider and a Coke, left the overall experience somewhat underwhelming.

The burger was a little overdone for my liking, but it still had an amazing flavor. The fries were decent and paired well with the burger. We also each had a cocktail--the Peach Mule and the Key Lime Pie cocktail. Both were refreshing, well-balanced, and a great addition to the meal. Overall, we had a really enjoyable experience and would definitely come back!
