Well came here last night on a Thursday and surprise it's Happy Hour all day Thursday including the HH bites! Stuck with the cantina $5 HH frozen margarita which was good and a ordered the chicken cone and fries from the HH bites for $12. But for $12 you get an assortment of boneless wings sauces up to your liking and fries crisped to a golden perfection! Def a plate to share for two! We also had the tower nachos for $10 during HH. I'll be back as always this place doesn't disappoint.

Knew this place had a prime location, but we werent expecting the food to be THIS good!! Very impressed by the quality of tacos & drinks. Such a fun spot to be in all the action in the woodlands

This was our server, should have caught his name.

We arrived at the restaurant around 7 and we were seated right after which was about the only highlight of me and my family's experience. Our server (The guy in the photo) was just the whole time. The first red flag was when my mom asked for a virgin pina colada, and after he informed her the ice machine was broken he suggested, and even AFTER my mom declined that he STILL kept suggesting the alternatives. Second red flag was none of us could even get our drinks without him gossiping about how the Bar Louie Next door to them had borrowed their blender and broke it so now they have "beef", and even more inappropriate, he started talking about how his ex BOYFRIEND works nextdoor to that Bar Louie's and he "did him wrong" and was like spelling out cuss words right in front of my 16 year old sister and 8 year old neice so they could "understand" YUCK. I guess he was trying to win us over so he could get a tip but that did the opposite. Reason why I mentioned we arrived at 7 Earlier is because we didn't get our food until an hour later at 8:02. And even AFTER he just kept piling up on the mistakes, my aunt had to ask him to bring some sauce for her tacos 8 Times before he finally brought it! And by the time it got here, her tacos were ice cold. My mom had originally ordered a quesadilla and 2 chicken tacos which got here 7 minutes AFTER we all got our food at the same time, by the way it was only her quesadillas that got here, the tacos NEVER came. Then it was finally time for the bill and the cherry on top was him not taking off the messed up orders until we asked for the manager to. Food was ok, not something to travel for but good for lunch but that plus all the trouble makes this place a 2/5 stars.

Baja Cantina gets my vote for best happy hour in the woodlands. They have $5 margaritas, which can come frozen or on the rocks and taste more expensive than they are, lots of food discounts, including my favorite the nachos! These things were loaded with chicken, cheese, sour cream, beans, pico, multiple types of salsa... they're much higher quality than any restaurant nachos I've gotten before. They could easily feed 3-4 people.

Taco plate - Barbacoa Taco and Rosarito Shrimp Taco

Came with some friends for dinner and drinks before a concert. It was very busy but so was everywhere else on the waterway and the wait wasn't that bad. I got a large frozen margarita with mango chamoy flavor. It was too sweet for my taste and very strong (I usually like regular margs over frozen). For food, I got a taco plate with the Barbacoa taco and a grilled shrimp taco. The barbacoa was pretty good with a decent serving of meat that was tender. I liked the shrimp taco a lot, which had large shrimp with a yummy sauce. There was a jalapeño sauce on the side which was good and definitely gave everything a kick. The rice and beans are pretty standard, nothing crazy special but executed well. Overall I thought for $13.50 the price for the plate is ok for the waterway. Staff is friendly and comes by to check on you frequently. Good option if you're on the waterway looking for a casual meal. They usually have happy hour but it isn't offered if there's a concert.

My bf and I went here last Sunday for our Sunday funday. The food was good and the $15 Bottle service mimosas hit the spot after 3 bottles. Would definitely come back here for brunch

What a great place for a midweek happy hour hangout. We really love the outdoor atmosphere which is adjacent to the waterway. The house margaritas and signature chicken nachos are a must try. The service was fantastic and combined with great happy hour prices, we will definitely be back soon!

Super cute little place. Love the decor. We went on a Friday night and it wasn't packed or anything. They had out door seating with DJ and indoor seating. We had the margarita flight and taco flight. So delicious! Service was great. We will deff be back for sure!

    Our dog with his food

We came here for Sunday brunch with our dog, and were so surprised that they had a dog menu available. They brought it out, alongside some water for him. The service was great, and we really enjoyed our meal as well.

    Spicy margarita- so good!!

This is an older building, but I'm not sure how long they have been here. In summary, I was not really impressed with my meal, but this is a super casual place and the prices are right. I started off with their house small frozen margarita. If you just need a basic one, this will do. It's nothing fancy. For comparison, their fresh margaritas start at $12 currently. Their salsa is served at room temp and you receive both a green and a red one. The red one was my fav. It was also the spicier of the two. I ordered their beef fajitas for one which is only $20. Let's see how it compared to my favorite in town which is much more expensive. Beef fajitas- these are your basic beef fajitas with store-bought tortillas. The sizzling skillet comes with 2 types of grilled onions, tomato, and grilled bell pepper slices. The beef is tender, I'll give them that, but the quality is low. You receive a lot of Pico de Gallo, not much guacamole, and an avg amount of rice and beans. The grilled onions were not grilled very long at all. I noticed a couple of the slices of beef were not cut against the grain, so they were a bit more chewy. Overall, service was average. They never asked me if I wanted a 2nd margarita until after I sat around for 10 mins and then even asked for the check. By then, its way too late to ask a customer if they want a 2nd drink, I guess that's how low key they are. At the end of the meal my glass of water was nearly empty too, but no server was to be found at the bar. In fact, they didn't really even man the bar most of the time with the 4 customers sitting there, including me.

The previous dining experience before this one, was not good, but I didn't post about it. I was really hoping it was a one time issue. The chips were so greasy you feared eating them for getting sick. The manager acknowledged how bad they were, and said they had an issue with the supplier. He said rather than not serve chips, they decided to serve them. They were inedible. Also the once delicious salsa has gotten watery. After my food arrived, I sent the taco back because the shell was the same as the chips. So greasy and the taco poured grease out of it. This last trip, the chips were better, but still very greasy and tasteless. The nachos I had would be about the quality of Chilis. No refried beans. Most restaurants layer refried beans, cheese and meat for SIX almost $20 dollar nachos. The chicken fajita meat was dry, and the beef was not good. A few bites were not edible. Another note- The once delicious tortillas were super thick and gummy. The manager came by and I explained everything to him . He didn't have much to say and didn't really seem concerned... other than taking off $2 of the bill. Which I do appreciate! It's still a beautiful restaurant, just sadly the food has changed too much for it be a top place for me.

For drinks I got a Mezcalina, my wife got a normal margarita normally I don't love Mezcal, but was feeling adventurous and this drink did not disappoint, it exploded with flavor and was my favorite drink I have had here. The bar program might be the best of any restaurant in the area, as it should be since they have a speakeasy as well. In my previous trip they brought us complimentary chips and salsa, but the time they brought Mexican hummus and pita. I was initially disappointed, but this was one of the more unique complimentary dishes I have had, and loved it. For starters, we got the TOSTADA CHUTORO, which was a tostada with raw fish and caviar. There were two, and although smaller bites to share, the flavor once again really shined through. My friend ordered Tacos de Filete, which she said were, "okay." We also had a few drinks... They were heavy pours. My only complaint is that the tajin-salt rims were more for decoration (smeared across the side of the glass and not very hygienic) rather than for the palette. Worth mentioning: We were never offered any chips or salsa, although I've read reviews where other patrons enjoyed some before their meal. Our server was friendly, but a bit disconnected.... Maybe that was the biggest problem - - the experience was diminished due to lackluster service.
