When I walked in the place it definitely gave me dive feels, but those tacos were hot, the meat was juicy and they were not stingy with the portions. I think they gave me their mild sauce instead of the spicy because either I've destroyed my taste buds or I simply didn't get any heat at all. The staff was so friendly and helpful and service was excellent! Also the price was very reasonable! The breakfast tacos were delicious! I got the chorizo and egg and the potato and egg and used their homemade salsa on both. They were nice and hot still when I got home (they were wrapped in foil) and tasted so good!! Both were excellent. The guacamole was fresh, bright, and clearly made with care. Nothing felt like an afterthought. What stood out most was the experience. The chef came out to check on our dinner personally. That kind of attention tells you something about the people behind the food. Mezkla sits right near the new theater strip on West 8th, and they're already expanding their dining room. Growth like that doesn't happen by accident. It happens when the food is good, the service is genuine, and people keep coming back. If you're in the mood for excellent Mexican cuisine in Holland, give Mezkla a serious look. We'll be back.
