Checked out Baja Mar Taco in Pico Rivera and had the shrimp cocktail and the enchilado shrimp taco. Both were really fresh and tasty, and the portions were solid. Everything was fresh and had great flavor. The taco had a nice little kick without being too spicy. Loved both salsas from their salsa bar Only small thing I'd change is the shrimp cocktail--would be better served in a chilled glass instead of a plastic cup. Overall great spot. I'll definitely be coming back.

Updating to let everyone know that their salsa cups are the TINIEST sizes ever. I brought in a bigger container to fill for a large group order (almost 20 tacos) and I was reprimanded and asked to use the tiny containers. I had to fill each sauce cup (about 20 total) and held up the entire self serve bar during prime lunch rush hour. This was really inconvenient and left me scolded for trying to fulfill my order. I understand salsa being limited, however, for large group orders, there should be a much bigger container to accommodate the group. Baja mar is not good for groups.

The food comes out fresh! The two taco plate, you can mix or match any meat or fish. It comes with a drink! Soft drink or Fresca! My favorite is the cucumber! It's not overly sweet and you can taste the cucumber. Not like some other spot, they do not include Fresca with your meal. It comes as a separate charge. So this is a plus for me! Jaiva Tostada is always good. Everything is a 5/5.

I haven't been here for a while but good remans the same. I got a burrito de Cameron enchilado and it was delicious, every bite had a shrimp or 2, it did fall apart since it was so big, but that was ok because I ended eating it with the fork! My hubby got cocktail de Cameron and the flavor is so GOOD and had ALOT of shrimp as well. We also ordered the tacos de Camerones empanados and they were ok, that's why a 4. The employees were very nice and quick, it was fairly quiet at the time we went, 12:30 and not a lot of people. I heard a lot of people ordering tacos de asada, I will be back to try those.

Stumbled across this place on my way to another place I was heading and had to try it. Don't let the looks deceive you! Good service and clean inside. I ordered a battered fish taco fully loaded, a chicken tostada, and a half order of beans and rice. They included a jalapeño toreado and had a green and red salsa bar with sliced lemons and pickled onions. The fish taco was absolutely amazing!!! Comparable if not better than La Bufadora and Taco Nazo. Yes it was that good! The tostada was okay and their salsas could use some work. The beans were good but the rice was really good. That fish taco though!!! Going back with the family to sample some of their other seafood delights and of of course their fish tacos!

A friend ordered takeout for a gathering on 5/25/25 for dinner so I can't speak to the service or the ambience. However, I ordered the camaron burrito (I specifically said "grilled shrimp" because I saw that on Yelp), and was surprised to see the shrimp fried + battered inside. I was expecting the same shrimp that were on their signature nachos. I'm not a huge fan of fried food so luckily my friend who got a Al Pastor burrito was willing to swap with me. The Al Pastor burrito was significantly smaller than the shrimp burrito and tasted ok. Tastewise, the nachos really stole the show.

The food is very good, my favorite are the big fish tacos they have on Wednesday for $1.50. coctelitos are good too for $5.00. I think they are both Great deal! The only thing I did not like, is the older man working at the register, he is very rude and impatient, if your order is wrong on the monitor and you try to correct him, he will come back to you with attitude and an argument, so watch out for this man and now what you want, before you get to the register and you may have a good visit read more

This restaurant has my favorite combination for a place to eat: quick easy ordering, fair prices, and fresh yummy food! We were in an unfamiliar and looking for a quick easily meal that would please the whole family. We got a little bit of everything, various tacos, quesadillas, and a bean and cheese burrito. The salsa is SPICY so be prepared for that. My kids gobbled up their quesadilla and burrito. My husband and I enjoyed every taco we had. We tried pollo, pastor, and carne. All were very flavorful. Tried this place for the first time on a Friday during lent...a lot people joined me... Place is small but you can smell the goodness coming from the stove. It's clean and staff was friendly. I tried the fish, shrimp and potato tacos...all of them were pretty good. For the price, not bad either... I would recommend this place. No Military discount read more

Best fish tacos I have ever had. Fresh, delicious, and the tacos don't easily fall apart. Even after you have taken them home with you. They are pretty big and made as you order. Their burritos are 100%! Their tortillas taste homemade and have the perfect crisp and softness. The red salsa had a great kick to it and added a good flavor to the burrito. Their campechana is also really tasty, but a tad too much ketchup for my liking since I could taste it. Their customer service is lacking, but I would definitely come back. read more

I was shown this place by a good friend. After he showed me this gem, his friend status was certainly elevated. This spot is tucked away and it's easy to miss but let me tell you: once you try it, you'll never forget it. They have daily specials which offer their amazing food at even better prices than normal. Their taco enchilado is STUFFED with shrimp and cheese and does not disappoint. I also had the sope de cabeza and tacos de pastor and asada. They are not shy with their portions and all of their items are packed with flavor. I wish I would've discovered this lovey place sooner. read more

Thank you to Jacob @ Company C Tire!!! He referred this place and the Camaron Enchilado Burrito. Man!!!! That was so awesome. One of the best burritos I have ever had. My friend that I came with named it "The burrito of the year!" First, they stuffed it with a lot of shrimp and the quality was there. It was perfectly cooked with fresh ingredients. Has a little spice kick but was the perfect amount. A clean place with awesome freshly made food. A must go! Make sure to come and try it out. read more

In case you haven't noticed, but Baja Mar has a fish burrito on their menu. I always get the spicy shrimp burrito, but I wanted to switch it up. I never thought to try the fish burrito ...., and OMG this bad boy was HUGE and so good. I couldn't do a before picture because I was excited to eat it from seeing how massive it was. This place is a small hole in the wall u might miss it if driving down Rosemead Blvd. I'm glad I stopped here to try for the first time instead of going to taco nazo. The taco Specials Are great....unless u miss the white sauce. I've ordered Several times with no sauce. I ain't gonna lie. I was a little disappointed with the tacos. I ordered asada and fish tacos. This is just honest criticism don't mean to hurt anyone's feelings at all. I recommend putting a little oil on the tortillas and make them not too hard, but not too soft either. This will prevent the tortillas from ripping with the moisture. I had to eat mine with a fork because the tortilla ripped. Also, it wouldn't be a bad idea to make the cabbage almost like a relish . In Spanish, it's called a curtido, because it taste a little harsh being in a raw form. I've been to Bajamar Mexico I know they have great tacos. These are not quite there yet. A little more effort can go along way. read more

Been coming here for some years now. This place dont miss. Price cool, adjusts often which is cool too. Portions cool. I always call in order. Inside seating is limited to like 9 tables for two. Quality is top tier. All the tacos are good bro. They should make online ordering an option. In a rare blue moon youll get some gristle and a bone but the meat is official. The red and green can be inconsistent but red is hot bro. Sometimes i mix the two. The green or sometimes yellow pan fried pepper jalepeno is so fire, i usually just need two. read more

This place had the best shrimp burrito I've ever had in my life. I've been thinking about it since I ate it this past week and can't wait until I'm in the area again to have it. The shrimp was marinated well, fried to perfection, and paired perfectly with the cabbage, pico, beans, and sauce they put in the burrito. I've lived 2 blocks away from Baja Mar for the last 10 years and I've never given this place a chance. Trust me when I say, this is underrated. I'm inclined to say that they might have better nachos than Casa Garcia. The place is nice and clean. 100% recommend. read more

I am giving it a four because flavor is ok. The pastor is lacking a little in flavor. The portion sizes for the tacos are good. I ordered chicken, asada, and pastor tacos. They give you lots of onions and cilantro. They are good sized tacos for $1.95. I ordered a salad too. Their salads are big which is nice. The lettuce is chopped nicely, and there is a lot of lettuce. The chicken they make is not dry which is very nice. The chicken has good flavor. The people are very friendly and pleasant when you go there. Horchata tastes good it is a bit on the sweet side. Overall not a bad experience. Thanks everyone. read more

Recently moved into Pico Rivera and had to find the dollar tacos. Mondays they have $1 shrimp tacos and Wednesdays are $1 fish tacos. I recommend calling ahead to avoid having to wait. Both tacos are delicious, and the side of jalapeños and salsas are also great. Highly recommend this place for the quality to cost ratio. read more

My friend recommended this restaurant. She said their fried shrimp tacos are 10/10 and they don't skimp on the shrimp! Well... she was right. The taco portions are very generous. I definitely recommend the shrimp tacos a total must and actually probably better than taconazo (which i love but Baja mar may take the cake). I got my daughter tacos de asada and they were also good! She made 4 tacos out of her 2 taco plate we got her. My husband got the shrimp cocktail and he says it was fresh and really good. The service here was fast and easy and the prices were good. Definitely will be coming here more often and love that I can support a family/community based business! read more

It is very spacious and well spaced. Separation of regular diners and bar drinking is nice, to keep a family friendly environment separate from the potentially more rowdy crowd. We asked what was highly recommended, and of course, it was what we came for, as others do too for their first and most likely, only visit there. I do not recommend this restaurant. We ordered their special of the day, which was a ceviche. It was made with raw shrimp, not cooked in any way, like straight from the freezer, thawed, chopped, and put into a bowl with the other fresh diced stuff. Usually, the marinating time the shrimp sits in the ceviche "cooks" it, not this one, gray shrimp. We read a review that said the octopus was life-changing, and we love a well-cooked octopus. If the octopus was just cooked, or just heated, or just slightly on the grill for a second, it would have been super delicious and life-changing, however, it was finished-cooked so poorly. My guess is that someone thinks that grill marks make it good, wrong, they burnt it. The flavor is burnt! It becomes bitter and burnt! Well, guess what, we ordered the fish.... And guess what.. it is the same!!! BURNT! Not grilled, BURNT, ON PURPOSE!?! If you want good Zarandeado, I recommend you go try Mariscos Martin in La Puente or Baldwin Park. Like I said, skip it, I do not recommend it. And, it was not cheap neither. It looked so upscale, so awesome, smelled good, then just burnt! Don't believe all the hype. This is definitely a hype restaurant, or somewhere to get drunk and not be able to comprehend what you are digesting.

Casa Sanchez on Atlantic had some of the best potato tacos & taquitos. Well I give this place 3 stars just for simple fact the prices are great. I hate the smelly Mexican cheese they use. I prefer real shredded cheesei like they use at Pepe's. I also noticed the smell of the lettuce and I learned that smell is from a chemical compound to keep lettuce from going bad, Taco Bell notorious for using it. I order my food with no lettuce unless I know they cut it fresh. So we got 1 potato taco to share. First I was hit with sweet aroma of dirty gym socks one main reason I hate that Mexican cheese. The next was that smell from the lettuce so I am not gonna lie....I was already telling myself....this is not gonna go down too good? So upon breaking it in half I noticed the taco had mashed potatoes in it? I never had it that way....so after removing the cheese and lettuce I tried to get into it but couldn't. I than ordered beef taquitos and they were very small and the meat had that old meat smell to it.....wait let me back up....I said NO LETTUCE IN SPANISH AND ENGLISH!!!!!! What did I get? WITH LETTUCE...LMAO! So as I bought that nasty taquito to my nose the smell was ratchet.....we left I should listened to Leo but his message came too late....should of got shrimp. read more

I enjoy the daily specials at this location. So far I absolutely love the fish and shrimp tacos. I call and order ahead so that I don't have to wait on special days because usually there's a line. The workers are super friendly and will offer you condiments and make sure you're satisfied. read more
