I had to visit again before I left. My brother and sister-in-law came and joined me and they had a beer and skinny margarita along with a chicken quesadilla and the chips and dip. The quesadilla looked like it was loaded so I will have to try that next time. I tried the Cadillac margarita and it appeared to be much too sweet for me so they changed it to a skinny margarita and it was just right. I got the happy hour hot wings that were crispy and juicy, to the bone with flavor. The Asada Fries were cooked light in color.....I didn't think I was going to like them. I thought they would taste like they were raw, but they tasted like they were cooked just right. The color was just light. The asada was good. Some bites were a little less tender. It was delicious however I do like a little more marinade flavor and a little more char flavor. But it was good enough for me to say I would buy it again. I was super impressed with Baja Miguel's and absolutely plan to dine in again. Finding the restaurant was super easy, as there is a lot of signage leading up to it's location. It's kind of in an open room but I liked how it looked and how it was decorated. We were sat for our reservation right away. We didn't have to wait long at the table for the server assistant to come by and inquire about water and drinks. It did take our server quite a while to come over to us and I would say that was the biggest hurdle of the night. Service was pretty slow but it was also super busy. Our server had a lot of tables, including a 14 top next to us. The food and drink was great. I loved the chips and salsa they gave us at the start of the meal. The fact they give guacamole too is amazing. And it tasted good so I was even happier. Our cocktails were quite tasty and pretty large for the price. I'm kind of a cocktail snob and was ready to talk down about their watermelon margarita. Nothing to talk down about, it was excellent, as well as all the other drinks we got. Honestly, I've lived in Silverado Ranch area for over 10 years. I don't know why I never stop by here. On 2nd floor of South Point hotel this place has a great Happy Hours. With full bar, great margaritas. One the best margaritas I had in a while. The decor of Mexican inspired. The staffs greeted me right away. Got seated without any wait. Two fish tacos came with a large piece of fish in each. The dips appetizer was good. The guacamole was fresh. The salsa was just okay as well as the bean dip but the chips were tasty and crunchy. We were also presented with complimentary and very good Guacamole, Bean Dip, and Corn Tortilla Chips. I haven't been here in a long time and went with a small group. When you sit down they bring you chips, salsa, beans & guacamole. It's unusual to get guacamole for free with your chips. I started with the Fideo soup which a lot of places don't have. It was a bowl which was a nice surprise and was really good. I had the chicken and steak fajitas and as You can see there is a good amount of meat a vegetables. I've had this lately in other places and they don't give you a lot of vegetables which to me is odd. I was at a different Mexican place a few days ago and had the fajitas and just no comparison, this place was amazing. The service was the best I've had anywhere lately. The glasses were never empty, we were checked up on often and we were not rushed. The prices are very reasonable and this is a place I will go back to more often than not. I'll take the drive because the food and prices are good. I had a margarita which was a decent size for only $7.25. Great price!!!! My sister had a Shrimp Dorado and another person in our party had seafood fajitas and everything was really good. We had a reservation for 5pm and it was not too crowded when we got there but by 6pm it was packed inside and out. The Food at Bad Miguels was not what we expected. Unfortunately everything was bland and generic. I visited this place recently..the service was excellent and the restaurant was very clean. The staff were friendly and attentive, and everything from being seated to getting our drinks felt smooth and welcoming. As for the food... it was just okay. Nothing really stood out. My California burrito and Danielle's Carnitas tacos were lacking a bit. They didn't taste bad, but it didn't leave me wanting to come back for the food alone. Eleven years since I last reviewed Baja Miguel's. 5 star review then - 5 star review now. Nothing has changed. We were there for a meal before a show. The restaurant honored our reservation for a crowded Friday night. Soon after we were seated, our server, Nayda, brought the chips and dip and got our drink orders. Service remained excellent throughout. The complimentary chips came with sides of guac, salsa, and refried beans - each very good. My wife and I decided to share the chicken fajitas ($26). It comes with 2 plates. One plate with the chicken, sliced peppers and onions. One plate with the guac, sour cream, refried beans, pico de gallo, and rice. Plus they brought extra tortillas because we were sharing. Huge portion that we couldn't finish (lunch tomorrow!!!) These are some of the best fajitas we have had anywhere (including some high end Mexican restaurants). Great service, really good food, fair prices. Definitely coming back again soon. read more

We came here on the worst possible night, Father's Day. So to give it 5 stars really says something. It's tucked away upstairs in the SouthPoint Casino. Very unique set up. You can hang out in the bar outside the doors of the restaurant, or you can get seated in the restaurant. Either way it is a good spot. For starters, they give you bean dip and guacamole with the complimentary chips, a nice thing. From there it gets better. We decided to get quesadillas. Wifey had veggie, I had shredded beef. What an amazing find! Located on the second floor of South Point you will find a darn good Mexican restaurant. I came for their Margarita meal deal, which takes place Wednesday-Sunday 11-3:30pm. Free house margarita or soft drink with purchase of one of their five meal deals. I chose the Baja combo, one enchilada and taco with rice and beans($12.95) really solid meal The dips with chips were really good too. The bean dip was one of the best I've ever had. I have been to every restaurant at the South Point but for some reason, I never made a stop at Baja Miguel's. Before a show on Sunday, I came here for dinner and was quite pleased with the service and the meal. The restaurant was almost empty but there were a lot of people at Bar Miguel's watching the end of the Raiders game. You can eat there also. This is outside the main restaurant. I was brought iced tea quickly and then my server stopped by, asked if I had any questions, and took my order. She told me that the dinner came with a cup of soup so I didn't have to order the tortilla soup. For the main course, I ordered their pollo Acapulco which the menu describes as: Chipotle-rubbed & grilled chicken breast with sautéed mushrooms, spinach, garlic, veracruz sauce & asadero cheese. I was brought a basket of warm chips along with bean dip, guacamole, and salsa. The bean dip and guacamole were good. The salsa was standard with no heat to it. I ate some of the guacamole and saved some for the chicken to come. I found salt and pepper behind a table top menu and salted the guacamole. Whether guacamole or plain avocado, I like having a bit of salt on it. The soup came out quickly. The menu says it's spicy Mexican vegetable soup, but it's not spicy at all. Then came the main course. The chicken was moist and the asadero cheese was freely used which made the dish quite tasty. Iced tea was refilled without asking and the server checked in with me to see if everything was OK. Time for dessert and I chose the tequila lime cheesecake. A fairly light ending to the meal and enjoyable. I won't overlook Baja Miguel's in the future. read more

I've been thinking this morning about how I should've expressed to my server last night about how something was off with the carne asada I had. It seemed overcooked and tough to cut through. They seem like the kind of place who would definitely correct that mistake. The free salsa provided tasted like it was from a brand like Pace. The drink prices deserve some recognition. Stumbled into Baja Miguel's inside South Point for dinner after playing a round of bingo. We tried coming here before but they wouldn't let us in unless we had a reservation, as they were completely full. They can be found on the second floor next to Primarily Prime Rib. This time around, we were more prepared and we had a reservation booked for 8:15pm (they will hold your reservation for five minutes before giving it away, just be aware of this when you book yours). We showed up right on time and we were guided to a table in the middle of the restaurant. It was still busy when we got there, but as time went on, it was starting to clear out a bit. Yanuid (sp?) took our drink order and Roman took our food order. We got a plate of chips with three different types of dip to start off with. These dips were salsa, beans, and guacamole. My favorite dip out of all these was the salsa dip and the beans dip, though the salsa dip was a little bit spicy. My boyfriend's favorite was the guacamole dip, though he had a hard time getting this on his chips. For drinks, I got a blueberry pomegranate margarita and he got a Rumtastic cocktail. I think this is one of the best margarita flavors I've ever had. My boyfriend enjoyed his cocktail and finished the entire thing. For food, I ordered a fajita chicken and vegetable quesadilla and my boyfriend ordered a crispy fish street taco plate. The quesadilla came with a side of sour cream, pico de gallo, and guacamole, while the tacos came with a ball of rice on the side. The quesadillas were very cheesy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The quality and the size of both dishes were pretty decent, meaning that they weren't too big or too small for us. At least three different people were celebrating their birthdays here, so we heard the waiters/waitresses singing the birthday song three times.
