My Bajas Taqueria experience was exceptional! First the food, because it's always about the food! I ordered the Mexican Dinner with chicken and it was superb. I mean really authentic flavor. It was very tasty and I eat it all. The portion size was probably too much but I just couldn't stop myself The service only consisted of someone taking my order and cashing me out. But everyone was pleasant and engaged. The atmosphere was also authentic. I loved the Spanish style music! And to no surprise the facility was clean and well kept. The next time I'm in Providence you can bet I'll be making a stop at "bajas taqueria!"

This place is delicious!!! Tried it for the first time yesterday. It looked super small from the outside but we tried it anyway. I do wish they had more seating, since we were stuck on the end of a long table, right where everyone was standing in line. I ordered a burrito with shrimp, tomatoes, lettuce, rice & beans with guacamole. I was a little upset because they left out the guacamole. :/. But besides that, I was not disappointed - the burrito was fantastic!! The shrimp tasted very fresh, same with the rest of the ingredients. My boyfriend ordered three tacos, one with steak and two with chicken, but they gave him the wrong thing as well (two steak and one chicken). We both liked our food though, and would give it a try again (of course, while watching closely to make sure they got our order right).

As a Latina from the Southwest, I can't say I claim Baja's (or tex-mex in general), but when I'm on Thayer and want something a little more home-y than Chipotle, but still as cheap, Bajas is there for me. I can't comment on the service since I always order on Snackpass, but they are always speedy!

Prices have gone up... by $1! Nevertheless, Bajas is still one of my go-to quick, cheap meals on the Brown campus. While they may no longer be the best deal on Thayer (that badge may now have to go to East Side Pockets), you can still get a delicious, filling meal for under $10. I've tried many of their different menu items. The chimichanga, tacos, burrito bowl, spicy fries, taco shell salad... they're all delicious! I usually order steak as my protein option and then have them pile on all the fixings (cheese, lettuce, sour cream, onions, tomatoes, guac, pico, cilantro, etc.). Plus, they're on the Snackpass app, so you can usually skip the line pretty easily if you're in a rush. Whether you're simply visiting Brown's campus or roaming around popular parts of Providence, if you're craving some great, affordable Mexican food, Bajas is your best bet.

Great Mexican place. I had soft tacos and a wet burrito. Both excellent. Desserts especially Tres Leches excellent. Highly recommended.

The menu is small and yet there's always plenty of yummy things to try when I go, even as a picky eater. There are multiple vegetarian and even a vegan option or two. I always have to get the guac when I come here - it's the perfect amount of creaminess without too much onion. Their red salsa is a great slightly chunky - slightly juicy texture and has a bit of a kick. The vegan burrito bowl is my go-to as a vegetarian, and the street corn side as an app is elite! It is a little spicier these days since the recipe was updated from on the cob to off the cob (I much prefer off for ease of eating and sharing!) The Coconut Cartel margarita was creamy and smooth and went down *quick* haha. Others in my party loved the spicy Margarito, although they were out of the main spicy tequila but the servers offered substitute recommendations. I came with a very large work group today, and the servers were so patient and flexible when we asked for modifications from the menu. I even was able to order the queso dip with the chorizo on the side (yummy but very thick cheese dip!), and they were very attentive of my colleague's mushroom allergy and made sure she got dedicated dishes, even when we were all sharing apps. The churro donuts seem to have changed recipe and got mixed reviews - some thought they were dry, another says she Uber Eats just those regularly Sitting outside in the summer on the patio is nice. Tasty, interesting dishes with modern urban twists on Mexican recipes. Truly the only slight downside is that sometimes parking can be tricky in this area, but you can always find free street parking, it may just take you a little bit. Even the funky and creative decor is a selling feature for me. A must-try!

Fantastic service and cool bar area- I always recommend this place to friends who are in the area! *Crispy fish tacos are still my favorite item on the menu. But I'm someone that believes anyone can have an off day so overall this place is really great. First and foremost, get the margarita. They are the best I've ever had. Also, get the tacos. Even as an app they're so great. I got the shrimp and a veg recently. I've enjoyed all of the entrees I've ever gotten. Honorable mention is the shrimp Diablo. Super spicy and delightful. The interior is warm, cozy, and a perfect combo of lit enough so you can see but dark enough to set a mood for spilling tea or flirting with your date. Equal parts good for girls night and good for date night. The not so great: I got flautas once and they fell flauta (haha). Also, it's sometimes a one man show so service can be slow especially if you need refills so be sure to order multiple drinks at a time, or better yet a pitcher. Street parking can be a real pain but sometimes you get lucky on a side street. Definitely worth a visit if you've never been!

So we took a chance. And we were not at all disappointed! First, we were greeted warmly, in a genuine way, by the owner. They seemed genuinely glad to have us. The older gentleman was friendly and playful towards my son. The food was delicious! I had enchiladas with housemate mole. The mole was fantastic: complex and nuanced. My daughter had enchiladas verde, which was smothered in a poblano salsa that was also complex, with great green heat. My son ordered the arracherra, a peppercorn rubbed steak served with homemade guacamole and a delicious cactus salad. I was tempted by several other dishes, particularly the enchiladas mineras (beef cheeks - yum!). All in all, a warm, welcoming, delicious experience that made me want come back. And I will.

But, I have to admit that with Baja's being on the same strip, I didn't feel the need to deviate from something I knew was good and affordable. However, my friend was in the mood for a snack and spoke well of this place, so we went in and had 3 tacos. Originally, we were planning on only having a taco each, but I am so glad we went for the third because we demolished them. We ordered 1 shrimp taco, 2 steak tacos, and a jarrito drink. They have a solid selection of toppings that look and taste fresh and are free of charge on entrees (I am unsure if guac is included). The total was $14 and change which I thought was reasonable. On Tuesdays they do have a taco special, but we missed out by a day. They do make their tacos with two tortillas each, which to me is an invitation to make double the tacos by splitting the inside in half among the tortillas. I thought the flavor of the steak and shrimp were really good, and were tender - not overcooked. I am very glad I was introduced to this place and will be going back to try other items on their menu. The service was good and the food is cooked and prepared in front of you. There is street parking, and depending on the day and time it is free.

A friend and I came in and put our names on the waitlist, waited for about 45 minutes at a bar down the street, and then had some of the most fulfilling tapas ever! We got a Prosciutto & Salpicao board, the Queijo de Cabra, and Frijol Dip. I also got a nice portuguese red wine that paired well with some of the cheese we received. We sat in a very sweet and cozy nook and enjoyed every minute! I will be back when it's warm out and the front patio is open!

You can really taste the family influence and authenticity behind every dish -- it feels like home, but with a fun twist. The Prego no Pão is one of my favorites -- perfectly seasoned steak on soft bread with that classic Portuguese comfort, but elevated in a way that keeps me coming back. We also can't get enough of the seafood dishes -- especially the paella and grilled octopus -- and the chouriço always brings that familiar Portuguese flavor I grew up with. The small plates are perfect for sharing, and trying different things each time has been so much fun. Plus, the touches of Mexican flavor throughout the menu just make my heart happy. The cocktails are always a hit -- fresh, flavorful, and so well-balanced. On top of all that, the décor is beautiful, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the touches of their family history all over make it so charming. Everything from the food to the drinks to the overall vibe is just excellent. Great addition to the city and one of our favorite spots I will add I have also gone with a baby, and while it's not stroller friendly they staff were very kind and patient with a baby learning to eat and making a little bit of a mess
