My Bajas Taqueria experience was exceptional! First the food, because it's always about the food! I ordered the Mexican Dinner with chicken and it was superb. I mean really authentic flavor. It was very tasty and I eat it all. The portion size was probably too much but I just couldn't stop myself The service only consisted of someone taking my order and cashing me out. This place is delicious!!! Tried it for the first time yesterday. It looked super small from the outside but we tried it anyway. I do wish they had more seating, since we were stuck on the end of a long table, right where everyone was standing in line. I ordered a burrito with shrimp, tomatoes, lettuce, rice & beans with guacamole. I was a little upset because they left out the guacamole. :/. But besides that, I was not disappointed - the burrito was fantastic!! The shrimp tasted very fresh, same with the rest of the ingredients. My boyfriend ordered three tacos, one with steak and two with chicken, but they gave him the wrong thing as well (two steak and one chicken). Prices have gone up... by $1! Nevertheless, Bajas is still one of my go-to quick, cheap meals on the Brown campus. While they may no longer be the best deal on Thayer (that badge may now have to go to East Side Pockets), you can still get a delicious, filling meal for under $10. I've tried many of their different menu items. The chimichanga, tacos, burrito bowl, spicy fries, taco shell salad... they're all delicious! I usually order steak as my protein option and then have them pile on all the fixings (cheese, lettuce, sour cream, onions, tomatoes, guac, pico, cilantro, etc.). Plus, they're on the Snackpass app, so you can usually skip the line pretty easily if you're in a rush. Whether you're simply visiting Brown's campus or roaming around popular parts of Providence, if you're craving some great, affordable Mexican food, Bajas is your best bet. read more

So there is a lot of hype about Bajas and their Texmex.... So first of all, the place was decently priced. While you wait in line, you can see the staff prepare food behind a polyglass window; so that's great to know your food isn't just being microwaved or reheated from the last day. With that being said, the line was kind of anarchy. They didn't clearly have a "line start here" or "place order here" sign, and as this was my first time, it was kind of overwhelming to order. So I ordered a shrimp quesadilla, and it was really great! However, if you have FOOD ALLERGIES, you need to avoid this place. In my shrimp quesadilla, there were little bits of steak. For me, I like steak and shrimp, so it was a little bit of a treat! But I could see my friends having a fit over it. The quesadilla came with sides of guacamole, lettuce, beans, rice, and sour cream. It was just ok. Nothing too special Salsa choices were excellent. Mild, spicy, verde, corn, pico de gallo. What a good bang for your buck. I got the Mexican dinner combo and it was so much food I had to walk home uncomfortably full. It was a great deal and yummy to boot. The chicken was okay, but the rice and beans were great! My biggest complaint is how much waste they produce. Even thought I ate in, I was given a styrofoam box and a plastic bag. UPDATE: Owner told Grubhub he was refusing to refund me so I had to walk to the restaurant and speak with him. He gave me some run around crap about how they don't deliver, Grubhub does, and if I don't pick up my food they throw it out. No explanation as to why I wouldn't receive a phone call when they realized it couldn't be delivered, also no explanation as to why no one answered the phone when I called them almost 10 times in a row that night. He also lied multiple times and said he couldn't refund my order only Grubhub could, except they told me on the phone the owner wouldn't allow them to refund me. Funny thing is, after repeatedly telling him that Grubhub in fact could not refund me until he no longer refused to allow them, he called them and confirmed my refund. Was planning on giving them one more chance but after the way the OWNER behaved I'll NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN. I placed an order and it was never delivered. No phone call with an explanation or anything. Have yet to be refunded and had to contact Grubhub directly to get a refund. I called an hour after placing my order and they said they had my order and then 10 mins later when I called again to see why it STILL hadn't been delivered they never answered the phone. They have really good food, but, when a restaurant takes my money (cost of food, delivery charge, AND tip), doesn't deliver it ever, doesn't even CALL me to let me know, and then also doesn't refund me, it's inexcusable. I ordered from this restaurant on Door Dash and I was really enjoying the food until I took a bite of the taco and found that there was a very large chicken bone. I don't really know how this was missed considering they dice the chicken rather small, but this is a real safety hazard. I ordered a set of three tacos and it was in the middle of my second taco and I was honestly nervous to eat the rest of it. The food was really good until then, but it made me feel nauseous after taking a bite into a boney piece of meat. I also got their tiramisu and it was quite good and very light. I don't live in the area so I won't have to debate coming back again, but it is a real shame that there was a bone or else this would have been a very different rating. read more

I'm a "picky eater" in far too many ways to name. This is important to know when I tell you that the ingredients Bahas uses for their tacos, burritos, etc. are high quality and done well. The meats were lean and seasoned well. Everything is right in front of you when ordering so there's zero guess work in wondering things like 'chicken chunks or crumbles', 'healthy lettuce or sad lettuce' it's all right there in front of you so you can see for yourself. The hot salsa is actually hot, which is awesome. My only complaint is that if you want water in a cup (not buying a bottle) you will be given a mouthwash sized cup of sink water. If you want a refill you must go ask the Cassie's. The fountain machine doesn't have a water feature. I would hope that eventually they just put a water cooler out so people can refill their own tiny cups. But whatever. On June 13 around 7pm I wanted my rewards qr code scanned as this would pay for the tacos my wife and I ordered. The manager and girl behind the counter were unable to scan the code for some reason, but did tell me my balance was 0, which was untrue.
