Bajeko Sekuwa is my go-to spot whenever I'm craving authentic Nepalese food. The staff are incredibly friendly and nice, and since the location usually isn't overcrowded, the service is consistently quick. We always come here for the Nepali Thali--both the chicken and mutton versions are good. Also, don't miss out on their appetizers; the Timmur Chicken is a standout with great flavor. It's a reliable, delicious, and welcoming spot!

Finally got to tick off this restaurant from my 'want to try' list and it was an a great evening at Bajeko Sekuwa. Bajeko Sekuwa translates to "Grandfather's Barbecue" in Nepali. "Bajeko" means grandfather, and "sekuwa" refers to a type of seasoned, roasted meat dish, typically grilled over an open fire. Loved the concept and the logo as I walked into the restaurant. The decor gives an upscale and private feel with a well stocked bar. Service was great. The owner met with all patrons which was a nice personal touch. The drinks menu satisfies everyone's tastes with a decent selection of wine, good choice of beers and popular spirit options. For appetizers we tried Bhatmas Sandheko - crispy fried soy beans with a wasabi punch of spices and chicken Sekuwa. Both were yummy paired with the classic Taj Mahal Beer. The chicken vindaloo with garlic naan was a good choice for the main course. Rasmalai for dessert was a perfect ending to the meal. The food tasted great and was served at the perfect intervals. The restaurant is located in a rather inconspicuous spot right off MacArthur Blvd. Shared parking is available. Pricing : Moderate for the great food and service. Will I return? : Definitely! Want to try the momos and other Himalayan specialities.

The food and atmosphere was like stepping into a house in Nepal. The food was excellent I had Dal Baht with chicken and garlic Nan bread..Soo good!! I like spicy and they made mine medium. The fresh basmati rice and all the curry with mustard greens and fresh veggies was delicious. Finished with Chai tea Heaven on the pallet. No greasy burger or heavy food just fresh and clean!!! Heart healthy food everyone needs to try!! You will not be disappointed!!

Butter Chicken Masala, Jhol Mo Mo, Chowmein and one item that was off the menu called Chatpate.

This was the first time trying some authentic Nepali food alongside some indian food. The Nepali food that we tried was the Jhol Mo:Mo, Chowmein, and an off-the-menu item called chat pate which was a recommendation from a nepali friend. The butter chicken masala was really creamy, tender and perfectly cooked. The chowmein was not too oily, not too dry and very delicious. Unlike any other chowmien we have tried elsewhere. Jhol Mo:Mo is a really lovely and spicy soup dumpling. It was delicious. The off the menu item was also extremely tasty. The staff were very friendly, they explained everything really well and gave suggestions as to what we can try. We really loved the ambiance of the restaurant and overall service. Would definitely try it again and would rate it a 9.3/10

I absolutely love this place. I used to come here a lot and I've been eating here for around four years now. The food especially the jhol momos is just amazing. The way they make them is super tasty and the overall food quality is excellent. Earlier, the service used to be top-notch, but things have definitely changed. I think the management might have changed too because the last time I visited, there were new people working there and I was really disappointed. And yesterday, I gave it another shot thinking it might have just been a one-off, but sadly, the experience was the same fantastic food, but terrible service. The staff are just too serious and not welcoming at all. I even asked them to recommend something special from the menu and they just handed me the menu and said, "Take your time and tell us what you want." It honestly made me feel bad. I only keep coming back because of the amazing food, but I won't be returning if the customer service continues like this. Even my Nepali friends have noticed the same thing and that's probably why there are barely any customers these days. Whenever I visit, it's just me and my buddies no one else. The management really needs to take care of this. The food is next-level, and if they improve the customer service, this restaurant could easily become number one in the city. Also, I noticed one of the servers cleaning tables, handling the cash register, and serving water all with the same hands and no gloves. That was honestly surprising and not hygienic at all.

We popped in to try this place out. First off, this chain restaurant comes from Nepal. This Nepalese chain restaurant is unique with only three locations in the US--Colorado, New York, and here in TX. The restaurant is super cute inside. They were playing Christmas music inside. We were excited to order and try the food. We eagerly ordered the day's specials: Timur chicken, chicken chowmein, Khaja set, chicken lollipop, and steamed momos. The Timur chicken, a Sichuan pepper dish, was a flavorful delight. My little one approved of the chowmein and lollipop. The lollipop was crunchy and tasty. The Khaja set offered a lovely variety, but the momos had a strong seasoning I wasn't fond of. I've had a lot of Nepali style momos and I couldn't put my finger on what the seasoning was. The servers were attentive and kind. I want to come back to try something else especially knowing that this chain comes from Nepal. Thank you for the excellent service and food.

Chicken Korma, Butter Chicken Masala, Plain Naan, Raita, and Rice
    Nina B.

Came here for their Indian curries, and I have to say, I was happy to find them so flavorful and delicious! I'm honestly very picky about Indian food and have tried many different restaurants in the DFW area. None have satisfied my cravings until I ate at Bajeko Sekuwa! I'm a huge fan of chicken korma, so I ordered that along with plain naan and raita. We also got butter chicken. Both curries were perfectly spiced, and the chicken was tender and moist! You can choose your spice level - mild, medium, spicy, or extra spicy. I ordered the chicken korma extra spicy and the butter chicken medium. They add extra spice to their curries with chopped peppers on top, which I loved! If you're like me and love spicy foods, you know it can be hard to gauge how spicy a dish will be since each restaurant does spice levels differently. I appreciated the added peppers because you can adjust the spice level by removing or adding them to suit your taste. The chopped peppers on the chicken korma were super spicy, so next time, I'll opt for just spicy instead of extra spicy! The curry base already has a mild spice level, and I assume the mild option doesn't come with any added peppers. This place is officially my go to for Indian curries - I love it so much!

Lamb Tikka Masala and Garlic naan

I always come eat at this spot while driving thru here. Have ate here 3 times already and the food is always amazing and flavorful! The service is great! The server that served me was as very respectful and kind! Made me feel welcome and comforting. The ambience is amazing, the area is calm and peaceful. Plenty of parking outside and very safe.

    Goat Sekuwa
    Nuzhat B.

My husband and I were watching a Nepali vlog and started craving for jhol momo. So we looked for a place nearby and found this gem! Jhol momo: So so good that I could see myself going back and just ordering the jhol momo! Craving satisfied!! Goat Sekuwa: I am not a huge fan of gamey meat, so I don't usually like goat. But this meat was smoked so the gamey flavor was not there at all! It came with a side of jhal muri (puffed rice with onions and Cilantro) which is always great, and Nepali salad Veg Chowmein: The noodles itself was really tasty. Just one complain: when I order something with "vegetables" I expect vegetables - not just a couple of onions, Cilantro, and handcrafted shredded carrots. Mango lassi: not pictured :( it is how you would expect Mango Lassi with some spices (not the Indian sweet Mango lassi) They have a huge menu of both food and drinks. Looking forward to going back and trying some other food, and some more jhol momo!

Truly enjoyed the food and the service. Visiting the area, saw the place and decided to check it out and I'm glad I did. The ambience was pretty authentic Ayuu was such a great help with taking my order and explaining the menu.

    Vegetarian Thukpa
    Darshil S.

Came here first time. The food was delicious the thukpa noodle soup is a must try. The momos were cooked to perfection. If you are a fan of spicy try the chili momos. Their fried rice had a nice balance of spices along with a mild burnt taste that made the dish even better. The business has a really nice warm Ambiance and the service is super friendly and will make honest reccomendations.

DFW is massive. My friend was 30 mins late, but I wasn't trippin. I used that time to charge my phone and get a little work done. We didn't have a resy, but were seated right away. First of all, this place is massive. We both started with the espresso martini before realizing they had a happy hour menu. Our second drink was from the hh menu even though we had no business having a second cocktail. To start, we shared the fried green tomatoes. For whatever reason, we both ended up getting the western burger. Food was great. There was so much of it that I was only able to finish half and ended up taking the rest home. Great service as well. The place was crowded by the time we left. We only planned to stay for 45 minutes, but ended up staying for nearly 2 hours. Big thanks to the bartender. I went back to the airport a little tipsy after 2 drinks.

Clearly a popular spot. We shared an appetizer, a steak, sides, and a dessert between us 3. - Fried Tomatoes (appetizer): not bad! Light, not greasy at all, and that savory sauce on top was yummy: - Wagyu Tomahawk: the star of the show. Loved the peppered crust which was full of flavor. Not a true "Japanese wagyu" texture, but still an excellent steak overall. - Sides (mashed potatoes, fries, broccolini, cornbread): All pretty good across the board. I liked the cornbread the most and wished there was more of it. Usually a side of cornbread is much more substantial and comes with honey butter. - Steak sauce: we ask for a side of this. Whatever they had was unique and great. Fruity and tangy, a great complement to the tomahawk. - Pecan Pie: look at the photo! A huge, tall slice. No notes. Loved the dense ice cream on top. Perfect way to end the meal. Overall: no critiques, just an all-around great dinner. Definitely recommend the tomahawk and pie.

Even though the playground is usually his favorite spot, he didn't hesitate & insisted we go to Kafi for the brisket. That pretty much sums up how my family feels about this place. We've tried plenty of BBQ spots around Texas, but Kafi keeps bringing us back. The brisket is consistently excellent, and you can tell they use the highest-quality ingredients because the flavor really speaks for itself. I follow the chef/owner on Instagram (@kafibbq), and the amount of effort and detail he puts into his craft has resulted in multiple return visits for me. This review is for my latest visit. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Kafi BBQ can be found in a shopping strip in Irving-Valley Ranch. Only opened Friday - Sunday, on my most recent Sunday visit around dinner time, Kafi was packed. The patrons were a great mix of families, BBQ lovers, and those looking for high quality Halal meats. Smoke was in the air. 1 Star. Service - The staff is super friendly and nice. Pro Tip - Go for lunch or before 6 before items are sold out. A few items were sold out on my most recent visit (my fault I arrived at 6:45) and the staff weren't aware of what was available, leading to some confusion, but they were so nice it didn't impact my meal. 1 Star. Food - By now, you've probably read or heard about Kafi's Wagyu Brisket. For me, I love following @kafibbq on Instagram so I can see what Salahodeen is cooking up. On this visit, it was the Brisket Sandwich. First off, the house baked bread roll is soft, but firm enough to hold Kafi's famous brisket on a pile of home made cole slaw and pickles. The result was one of the best BBQ sandwiches I've eaten. The bite was soft, smokey, crunchy, and tart (from the pickles). It was a special, and I'm not sure if Kafi will keep this on the menu, but I hope they do. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. It's pricey, but it's worth it. While the brisket is great, I suggest you follow them on Instagram to see what's cooking and plan your visit around the specialty items. 1 Star.

Here's my review update. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - First the good - if the weather is nice Shoal's will open their sliding doors and bring TMF's newly remodeled greenspace to you. There's also a full bar in the middle, tons of communal seating, and plenty of TVs on to keep you entertained. The bad - it's super-hot in Texas and parking at TMF will always be a pain. Sorry I complain about this in every TMF restaurant review. 1/2 Star. Service - First the good - the servers are super friendly there's plenty of seating. The bad - ordering by scanning the QR code never works, and your cell phone signal is weak for AT&T customers. However, you can always order from the back and the staff are so nice and helpful, which trumps technology challenges. In other words, skip the QR code and order in the back. 1 Star. Food - First the great - I ordered their fried chicken (dark), and it was pretty darn good. The chicken so very well-seasoned, had a nice crunch outside, and was super juicy on the inside. Not only was I surprised, but I also think this is going to be my go-to dish in the future. Why? Well, their burnt ends, which were tasty thanks to being tossed in some nice, tangy BBQ sauce, were a bit tough to bite into. That seems to be the theme for me at Shoals, I'm more impressed with their non-BBQ items. 1 1/2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. I'm a big fan of Irving's Toyota Music Factory (despite the 2% tax on my bill). There are plenty of options withs tons of variety.
