I've been to this place several times, and it's usually a solid choice when I'm craving momo. This time, I decided to try a few different things along with my usual favorites. Of course, I ordered the chicken steam momo, which is consistently good as always. I also tried the Timur chicken for the first time, and it was really good...so good that I ordered a second one. The presentation and flavor were great. The first order was slightly crispier than the second, so the flavor profile felt a little different. Both were good, but I do wish the texture was more consistent. I also got the Badel Sadeko (marinated wild boar sauté), which I always order. It was excellent as usual, consistent in both presentation and flavor. Definitely one of my favorites on the menu. Now for the disappointment: the chicken thali. Unfortunately, it did not meet expectations. The rice tasted like it was a day old. It came with a cauliflower and potato curry, which was okay. The dal (lentil soup) also tasted like it had been sitting for a while, almost as if some ghee was added right before serving to freshen it up. The biggest letdown was the chicken curry. It was flavorless and watered down, very disappointing compared to the other dishes. The thali also came with saag (mustard), achar, and a gulab jamun (probably canned) for dessert. Finally got to tick off this restaurant from my 'want to try' list and it was an a great evening at Bajeko Sekuwa. Bajeko Sekuwa translates to "Grandfather's Barbecue" in Nepali. "Bajeko" means grandfather, and "sekuwa" refers to a type of seasoned, roasted meat dish, typically grilled over an open fire. Loved the concept and the logo as I walked into the restaurant. The decor gives an upscale and private feel with a well stocked bar. Service was great. The owner met with all patrons which was a nice personal touch. The drinks menu satisfies everyone's tastes with a decent selection of wine, good choice of beers and popular spirit options. For appetizers we tried Bhatmas Sandheko - crispy fried soy beans with a wasabi punch of spices and chicken Sekuwa. Both were yummy paired with the classic Taj Mahal Beer. The chicken vindaloo with garlic naan was a good choice for the main course. Rasmalai for dessert was a perfect ending to the meal. The food tasted great and was served at the perfect intervals. The restaurant is located in a rather inconspicuous spot right off MacArthur Blvd. Shared parking is available. Pricing : Moderate for the great food and service. Will I return? : Definitely! This was the first time trying some authentic Nepali food alongside some indian food. The Nepali food that we tried was the Jhol Mo:Mo, Chowmein, and an off-the-menu item called chat pate which was a recommendation from a nepali friend. The butter chicken masala was really creamy, tender and perfectly cooked. The chowmein was not too oily, not too dry and very delicious. Unlike any other chowmien we have tried elsewhere. Jhol Mo:Mo is a really lovely and spicy soup dumpling. It was delicious. The off the menu item was also extremely tasty. The staff were very friendly, they explained everything really well and gave suggestions as to what we can try. We really loved the ambiance of the restaurant and overall service. Would definitely try it again and would rate it a 9.3/10 read more

I absolutely love this place. I used to come here a lot and I've been eating here for around four years now. The food especially the jhol momos is just amazing. The way they make them is super tasty and the overall food quality is excellent. Earlier, the service used to be top-notch, but things have definitely changed. I think the management might have changed too because the last time I visited, there were new people working there and I was really disappointed. And yesterday, I gave it another shot thinking it might have just been a one-off, but sadly, the experience was the same fantastic food, but terrible service. The staff are just too serious and not welcoming at all. I even asked them to recommend something special from the menu and they just handed me the menu and said, "Take your time and tell us what you want." It honestly made me feel bad. I only keep coming back because of the amazing food, but I won't be returning if the customer service continues like this. Even my Nepali friends have noticed the same thing and that's probably why there are barely any customers these days. Whenever I visit, it's just me and my buddies no one else. The management really needs to take care of this. The food is next-level, and if they improve the customer service, this restaurant could easily become number one in the city. Also, I noticed one of the servers cleaning tables, handling the cash register, and serving water all with the same hands and no gloves. We popped in to try this place out. First off, this chain restaurant comes from Nepal. This Nepalese chain restaurant is unique with only three locations in the US--Colorado, New York, and here in TX. The restaurant is super cute inside. They were playing Christmas music inside. We were excited to order and try the food. We eagerly ordered the day's specials: Timur chicken, chicken chowmein, Khaja set, chicken lollipop, and steamed momos. The Timur chicken, a Sichuan pepper dish, was a flavorful delight. My little one approved of the chowmein and lollipop. The lollipop was crunchy and tasty. The Khaja set offered a lovely variety, but the momos had a strong seasoning I wasn't fond of. I've had a lot of Nepali style momos and I couldn't put my finger on what the seasoning was. Came here for their Indian curries, and I have to say, I was happy to find them so flavorful and delicious! I'm honestly very picky about Indian food and have tried many different restaurants in the DFW area. None have satisfied my cravings until I ate at Bajeko Sekuwa! I'm a huge fan of chicken korma, so I ordered that along with plain naan and raita. We also got butter chicken. Both curries were perfectly spiced, and the chicken was tender and moist! You can choose your spice level - mild, medium, spicy, or extra spicy. I ordered the chicken korma extra spicy and the butter chicken medium. They add extra spice to their curries with chopped peppers on top, which I loved! If you're like me and love spicy foods, you know it can be hard to gauge how spicy a dish will be since each restaurant does spice levels differently. I appreciated the added peppers because you can adjust the spice level by removing or adding them to suit your taste. The chopped peppers on the chicken korma were super spicy, so next time, I'll opt for just spicy instead of extra spicy! The curry base already has a mild spice level, and I assume the mild option doesn't come with any added peppers. This place is officially my go to for Indian curries - I love it so much! read more

My husband and I were watching a Nepali vlog and started craving for jhol momo. So we looked for a place nearby and found this gem! Jhol momo: So so good that I could see myself going back and just ordering the jhol momo! Craving satisfied!! Goat Sekuwa: I am not a huge fan of gamey meat, so I don't usually like goat. But this meat was smoked so the gamey flavor was not there at all! It came with a side of jhal muri (puffed rice with onions and Cilantro) which is always great, and Nepali salad Veg Chowmein: The noodles itself was really tasty. Just one complain: when I order something with "vegetables" I expect vegetables - not just a couple of onions, Cilantro, and handcrafted shredded carrots. Mango lassi: not pictured :( it is how you would expect Mango Lassi with some spices (not the Indian sweet Mango lassi) They have a huge menu of both food and drinks. I've heard good things about this Nepali restaurant empire that has multiple locations in both Nepal and the US, and was pleased to have an outlet open close by. This review is not dine-in, so no points have been awarded based on service and ambiance. I love momos, which are my most favorite dumplings in the world (Xiao long bao being close behind), just because of the diversity of their preparation methods, and the use of fillings with ingredients with spice and variety. This time I decided to try the steamed chicken momos, although they do offer multiple momo options, I always try to judge a restaurant first based on their most traditional offerings - it's all about getting the basics right. And oh boy, they delivered! Soft and delightfully chewy and blistered on the outside, with a burst of flavor on the inside (minced chicken with other ingredients). The dipping sauces provided were especially good. Tandoori tiger prawns - Six plump prawns pulled out of a tandoor oven are usually bursting with flavor, and this one was no different. Slight char, and the prawns were cooked to perfection - not rubbery and chewy at all. I could've smashed a dozen of these by myself. Six was too little a number :( Chicken choila served with traditional Nepali beaten rice, also called baji or chiura - The chicken was well cooked, with a nice chili, coriander, garlic, ginger curry leaf flavoring permeating throughout. Great! Mixed fried rice - "Mixed" meaning multiple proteins in fried rice - Excellent. All-in-all the food was great. Gotta get a seat at the restaurant next time to check out the service. read more

We tried 2 different memos (one pan fried and the other in a sauce) both were good but we favored the one in sauce. I was there with 8-10 friends for a Saturday lunch. The food was really good, portion was a little smaller than we expected. They have a full service bar, so I decided to get a mimosa but the server came back saying they will have to open a new bottle of champagne so they wont be able make a mimosa unless I get the whole bottle or order 4-5 glasses. I was there to attend a party few days ago. The dinner was of a low quality. The rice smelled like molds ( ). The goat meat was so outdated that it smelled like molds too. I think someone should report such unethical behavior to the Health Department of the city. Meanwhile, I saw the response from the owner to my reviews yesterday ( thanks for the response!). The owner has claimed that all other guests, except me, were happy. This is totally a false claim. Did the owner talk to every guest about it? If so, did the owner talk to me as well? When? Additionally, I don't care what other guests felt, that's not my concern. I and my wife smelled the rice like molds. 100%. Period! The rice and goat meat at least were not fresh (and smelled like molds). That's it! Instead of realizing the mistakes and correcting them in future, please do not make any false claims just for making the arguments. read more

Had visited this place with the utmost desire to have that extremely famous perfectly seasoned Sekuwa back home. Being one of the famous franchise from Nepal, we were totally unhappy with what was served to us. The food needs a lot of improvement to meet that flavours which we get back home. Most of us visit this place since we know what it tastes like, but it didn't meet our expectations. However, the customer service was very good. The server , manager and the bartender seemed like they were trained and very professional. The interior was good as well with a separate room for live music. But ultimately it brings down to food which for us was disappointing. This was the first time ever I came out famished from a restaurant. I didn't like the Momo's , which was very surprising. They were of course very big and filled with a lot of meat, but the taste was awful . It was seasoned with a lot with curry masala and I don't know why we all found the Momo achar(sauce) to be bitter. More disappointing was the jhol Momo. They did no effort to make jhol for the Momo while they just dipped those momos on the sauce they gave us with the steamed Momo's. Duhh!! Next was the Bhutan, which we home packed to cook it ourselves the next day because it wasn't crispy enough for our taste . Also, the Sekuwa was not as it used to be in Nepal . I was explaining it to my friends that in Nepal the Sekuwa just melts in your mouth , but sadly they were very chewy and not flavourful at all. I hated the size of the Sekuwa , they were too big. Rather they would have cut it into smaller pieces so that it is more pleasant eating. Hoping that in future they will try to keep up with the taste as their parent restaurant from Nepal. read more

Going to Baje ko Sekuwa is an event in itself when visiting Dallas specially if you are from Nepal. I had very high expectations, but it was just ok! Our order included chicken chowmain, Kathmandu Khaja set, jeera aalo, Goat sekuwa and Aaloo tama. My favourite was Aaloo Tama, it was spicy but was pretty good. Sad thing was they did not put a single wedge of lemon in the entire order! The khaja set was disappointing. It didn't take as good, the meat wasn't tender and juicy. The furandana was just ok, the radish pickle was a bit dry. The sekua was pretty good, need a squeeze of lemon, may be I should have asked for it, but it should have been part of the sekuwa plate. Chicken chowmain was good. If you are taking kids along, they don't have much to offer for kids. read more

The noodles were done right in that it was fried and crisp as well as moist with a good flavor from the spices. They provide a sauce to increase the spice level if you prefer. The momos were done right and the two different sauces they provide are a great complement to each other. The service was attentive and yet not intrusive as was the ambience. read more
