No differentiation between the chocolate, coffee, or the lemon. It all tasted by straight sugar and cardboard. I popped in because the parking lot was mostly empty. It wasn't particularly busy in the cafe either. There were two small groups ahead of me in line. I order my food and black iced coffee to go. I received my food. It even had to be heated. And I had to wait 10 minutes for them to give me my black iced coffee. Even though there are only two or three people waiting in the drink area. And that was after I said something. So who knows how long it would have taken. This isn't because of lack of effort. The baristas were doing things. They're making lots of drinks. But it's not clear for whom. They finish the drinks and they don't call people's names. Maybe they're for to go orders? I understand that restaurants need to make choices about how they run things. All I can say is, that it's not a good experience to get all of your food and you have to wait for a black iced coffee (a drink that takes very minimal effort) for 10 minutes. Even though you're one of only a few people in the drink area. I'm not going to change my review score. But these experiences definitely affect how often I visit.

They have an assortment of caramels and toffees, as well as a wall of bagged coffee beans, and another wall of cute coffee mugs. A very nice assortment! Today, I purchased their Hi Hat and a bag of their Blackbird Pond. It's a Bean from Nicaragua San Juan del Rio Coco, with notes of dark chocolate, almond, and cream. I'm getting a new espresso machine soon, and I can't wait to make this on it! Siobhan is very friendly and we chatted up a bit. Now I know where they are, I'll be coming by more often!

I've wanted to visit Drum Roll Coffee Roasters for a while, but I'm usually only in Old…read moreWethersfield ("OW") before or after they open. Drum Roll is predominantly a coffee roaster, but they sell some merch as well. They may serve beverages on site, but that doesn't seem to be a focus of the website or store and I was in and out when I visited. I did not see any seating. I bought two things at the small, thin store in OW, and I also recently had cold brew made with Drum Roll coffee at Bake Market in Rocky Hill. The following things stood out. First, the person who helped me, who I assume was the owner, was conversant in coffee terms that matter to me. Sometimes I talk to a store employee about single origins or roast levels, and they don't know what to say. The person who helped me knows coffee and they had a good selection. Second, my Ethiopian Single Origin Beans I used for a home pour over, turned iced coffee, were obviously fresh roasted. You could taste the roast. A coffee can actually be too fresh roasted, and based upon experience, I think some of the listed tasting notes will be more prominent in a few more days. I usually wait 7 to 10 days after the roast date before using coffee. For this reason, putting the roast date on the bag might be a good move. Third, the coffee bag is a high end bag. I buy a lot of craft coffee over the internet. Some places try to have useful bags, and some places try to save money on bags. Drum Roll has a ziplock style seal that makes keeping coffee fresh easier. Their bag is on par with other top places. Fourth, Drum Roll serves canned cold coffee. I'm not sure if they rotate their offerings. I bought one snap chilled Papua New Guinea Cold Brew can. It was very smooth and above average for a canned coffee product. Fifth, I don't remember the exact price, but I remember thinking the price was reasonable. I would definitely buy more bags if I happened to be in OW when I needed coffee beans and Drum Roll is open. Sixth, Bake Market's cold brew made with Drum Roll coffee was rich and smooth. It had a darker flavor and roast profile than I normally I drink, but it was well executed for that style. Based upon all of this, I recommend Drum Roll for people who make coffee at home. While I have my own grinder at home and buy whole beans, they even asked if I wanted the beans ground. 4.5 Stars

They have plenty of seating, some upholstered furniture and we saw a few Friday morning telecommuters working on their laptops and sipping their coffees. Our order was a Chai Latte and a Cold Brew - each was $5. The pours were very large, and I swear that my cold brew was the very best I've ever had. I love coffee, drinking it hot or cold, and what I had here is in my all-time Top Five Percent. It was that good. I had a sip of my wife's Chai Latte and thought it was excellent as well. What really impressed me were the flavors of both drinks- not overpowering, but strong enough to appreciate them. The Coffee Guy has it all - specialty coffees, matcha, chai, espresso drinks, and pastries and sweet treats to pair with your coffee cup. We couldn't resist grabbing a few on our way out, and we took home a box with a Spinach croissant, iced blueberry scone, and a cruffin (croissant/muffin hybrid). I bought a box of fifteen for $15. I had some time to kill before my appointment in Rocky Hill, so I also ordered a small coffee, lemon, and almond donut to enjoy on site. Now that's easier said than done because the store is small and only has a counter with two stools. Luckily, both were vacant so I settled in, drank their excellent freshly made coffee (small for $3.50) and savored my little donut treats. Indulge By Palazzo also specializes in coffees and protein shakes to help you wash down those donuts, and it looks like they are set up to sell ice cream in season. If you are a donut hound, and appreciate adorableness, indulge yourself with a visit to Palazzo and walk out with a box of their petite sweet treats.

We ordered a 8 pack of mini donuts and 2 protein doughnuts. The mini doughnuts came in a myriad of flavor combos. Those flavors were pronounced, the base is a cake doughnut so it's spongy but light. It's a good cake doughnut, but I'm not really a fan of cake style doughnuts. For me, cake doughnuts need to be right out the oven to be good. These were made recently, but cooled significantly and not to my preference. The protein doughnuts were dipped fresh. They were not much different in terms of consistency but it's a much denser doughnut and a bit of chew because of the protein powder. It also has the aftertaste of sunflower shells that health products tend to have. Not unpleasant, but makes it taste like standard "healthy" products It's not bad, but it's also not great. For the price is right for the quality, and it's one of the few dessert options for the area. It's worth a try if you're around or if you really like cake doughnuts, but I wouldn't trek there.

They charged for a small cup of warm milk for my daughter, which felt unnecessary, and the service was polite but not especially warm. And my blackberry vanilla latte didn't have much of a flavor. It tasted like a regular latte. Still delicious and hit the spot. I'd happily return. The scones alone are worth the visit.

The latte was rich and a good quality coffee, so the drink went down very smooth. The maraschino cherries on top were a nice touch too. I love the punk rock feel, and will definitely be visiting more frequently.
