I can't say enough good things about this place. First, they are completely NUT/PEANUT FREE!!! I needed cupcakes for my boyfriend's 30th birthday and he is deathly allergic to peanuts so normally he just doesn't get to enjoy dessert anytime we leave the house. I was so excited to find Baked Cravings because for the first time he felt safe enough to eat cake on his birthday! I should also mention that I requested the cupcakes and frosting be lactose-free/dairy-free and Eddie (the baker) went ABOVE AND BEYOND to find dairy-free butter, despite the fact that his regular supplier didn't have it. This is a review of the online ordering experience: I purchase an order of 5 cupcakes in a jar from them because I have been craving cupcakes and I want to support small businesses with my purchases. I paid extra for priority shipping but UPS, being unreliable as they always are, did not deliver it on Friday and was scheduled to deliver my package after the weekend, on Monday instead. I reached out to Craig for help (I was worried they would go bad by then) and he immediately sent out another package to me. In this uncertain time period, I didn't expect such wonderful and kind customer service. Now onto the baked goods: they are sooo sooo delicious. I ate a whole cupcake in a jar in one sitting. The ratio of cake to frosting is perfect, and the cake is soft and moist. The cupcake isn't too sweet, which I really appreciate (a lot of cupcakes are way too sweet). I got custom photo cookies for my Uncle's birthday and it was fantastic! Some of the print rubbed off and it might have been because I kept them in the bag for a few days prior to his birthday, but it still had the same effect as I expected: surprise, surprise, surprise! The customizing is done online through their website and the print looked exactly as requested. I had a question and the manager was quick to respond and was super helpful! For a little over a dollar a piece for a batch of 20, these were well worth the hit it was for the excitement it generated. Perfect prank or celebratory intentions! They have a couple pre made caked but it's definitely better to order in advance or call in advance. We had a chocolate cake either 6" or 8" with vanilla frosting. Both cupcakes were stale including the icing. No fluffy cake or creamy icing. I could have made myself a better cupcake. The jar is also clearly labeled that it is 5.1oz. ---------------------- I will start off by saying that I really like this bakery and think their cupcakes are great! However, I recently ordered a cupcake in a jar since I remembered seeing them before and really wanted one. I was very disappointed when the jar came and it was less than half the size of what they used to be but the same price. $9 is not worth paying to get the same sized cupcake in a plastic jar. My advice to patrons is to get their normal cupcakes and my advice to the owners is to just get rid of the cupcake jar if its not going to be the same as whats in all your flyers and photos. read more

I arrived to pick up my UPS package at 6:02 pm. The girl would not open the door to hear me out. She simply yelled from behind the counter that she was closed (for TWO WHOLE MINUTES???) . While planning my boyfriend's 30th birthday celebrations, I stumbled upon Baked Cravings in a Yelp search as I really wanted photo cookies that I could order online. Most bakeries that allowed to custom design photo cookies I found were really expensive for the everyday customer and were being marketed towards big companies. However, Baked Cravings price point couldn't be beat AND allowed for delivery in NYC. With an easy design and submit tool on their website, I successfully uploaded my custom design (@ no extra charge!!) and was able to process everything quickly and effectively. A few weeks after submitting my order, I realized I needed a few more cookies and some cupcakes. Craig really helped me out in adding some cupcake minis and more cookies. Let me just say, a lot of other bakeries charge a crazy amount for cupcake MINI's. Again, the price point here fit for my party budget. While I ended up changing my delivery order to a pick up, the bakery itself was an easy commute on the 6 train from midtown. And finally, the best part, was that the cupcakes and photo cookies were delicious. I knew I was gambling on taste as I'd never tasted their sweets before. I ordered the chocolate minis, one regular oreo cupcake, and photo cookies! ALL were just the perfect amount of sweetness - loved the frosting! And it was definitely nice to know that the baked goods were made in a nut free establishment which is very hard to find. Great small/local business, great baked goods. Definitely order here for your party and everyday cravings as it is convenient pick-up (or delivery if you just get cookies). Only wish I had kept more for myself!! read more

Delicious nut free (!!) cupcakes! I don't get to try cupcakes often because of my allergies and out of the various places I've tried, these are by far the best. I got a banana cupcake which was perfectly sweet and fruity with just the right amount of creamy frosting on top. Lots of allergen free cupcakes I've tried in the past have been super dry, but Baked Cravings gets it just right-- light and fluffy and not super messy. I also got a red velvet cup ake in a jar and it was also incredible-- it was also half price and was basically like getting 3 cupcakes. Perfect frosting to cake ratio as well!
