I had to wait a few days to cool off before posting a review of The Cadillac service department. Immediately upon entering the service bay I was greeted by a young man. I informed him that I had an appointment for my 2016 XTS. I inquired if they were going to rotate my tires as they have always done in the past every five thousand miles. The young man told me that they would not rotate them because my "wheels are after market" and they have had issues with rotating after market wheels. I informed him that I purchased the car in Atlanta right off the showroom floor. In a rude tone he stated, "I doubt that". I tried to show him a picture of the car actually on the showroom floor and even called the Cadillac dealership in Atlanta to tell them what this guy said. Well, this guy wasn't having it and became very argumentative. He even stated negatively after all of his ranting, "and you still want to have your car serviced here!" This is when the service manager, Dean, came out to diffuse the situation. I informed Dean what was going on. I asked him for my key back, because no person in the business of customer service was going to talk to me in the manner that young service guy spoke to me. I told him that I would take my business elsewhere. Yes, that is just what I did. I went down the street to Baker Mercedes and bought a new Mercedes Benz suv. I was assured by that dealership that their service department provides outstanding service. I even dropped by the Mercedes dealership today to pick up an item in their parts department. To my surprise, when I asked a question about my new car, the guy came from behind the counter, walked me to my car and demonstrated several features on my car. Now that's quality service! The Cadillac folks need to take a lesson from the Mercedes folks. After all, they are both Baker dealerships and just down the street from each other. read more

We stopped in after a horrible day car shopping at that point. It was 15 minutes til close so we weren't planning on driving away in the car we wanted, we just wanted to let them know we were interested and set up a time to come by another day. Recently took my vehicle in for some warranty repairs. Informed in writing to the service writer what my warranty concerns are. He attempted to duplicate the failures in the drive up bay. Told me that if he couldn't duplicate the failure there wouldn't be much they can do. I would think that he would at least let the certified technicians inspect the failure to access the situation. After all, they would have the best troubleshooting acumen available. But thanks to the department manager, (David Costner)"Coach", some of my concerns were given the proper attention it deserved. But beware that when you take your vehicle in for service, you need to not take anything for granted. Some service writers don't care about you or your vehicle or about your valid warranty. Know what your warranty provides and ask questions if you are not sure of the covered vs. non-covered items. read more

I've had a horrible experience with the sales department at Baker Buick GMC Cadillac. I purchased a preowned 2015 Sierra, as well as a bumper to bumper warranty with the additional option for aftermarket suspension. The day after I left I noticed some noises coming from the suspension. I brought it in to get looked at and to speak with my salesman and sales manager about repairing the truck. Turns out they sold me a truck with a lift kit that was poorly installed and the only way to fix it is to remove the lift and restore to factory suspension. The sales people are making me come out of my own pocket to restore factory suspension instead of resolving the problem. The majority of the reason I purchased this truck was the way it looked so now I have to come out of pocket to fix it and it won't even look the same as it did when I bought it. I do not recommend doing business with this dealership to anyone, they do not do business honestly, nor do they care about customer satisfaction. read more

If there were a zero stars option, I would choose it. Don't buy here unless you're buying brand new, with a warranty. We purchased a used Cadillac from Baker last month (August) and now are having to put hundreds of dollars into it. It has taken weeks to even get it in service and it was only done today because I called Cadillac directly. So much for "Call us if something comes up." Cadillac (not Baker) was kind enough to tow the vehicle to the dealer for free. However, nothing was done about the outrageous labor charges for a car that we've only made one payment on. The sad part is that we wanted a beater, a car to drive to work and back and easy to work on if something happened to it. They had one listed in their inventory that supposedly wasn't there. We were dumb enough to let them talk us into something "more reliable". More money, sure. More reliable? More like nice driveway decor. So far I've been told that it "might only need a battery" and it will run "probably around $220". So after one payment, we get to spend more than the payment itself to make this vehicle run. On top of this, I let them know that my husband is active duty military and can't exactly just take off work at anytime. We are also a family of 7. This leaves us with one vehicle for him to drive to work and me at home with no vehicle in case of an emergency. They have no concern whatsoever about that. Next time we'll stick with Toyota. I had my reservations about an older car, but the mileage was fairly low and Baker acted like they took care of their customers. Listen to your gut feelings because in this case, my gut was right. read more

I called and spoke with this dealership about a car for my parents. I laid everything out, neg equity of their current car, finances, credit, all. Nothing was hidden. They assured me they could get it done and they did, oh wait fast forward 3 weeks! my parents are called back in, told deal fell through but luckily for you we have you financed (at a much higher rate) but don't worry you get to keep the car. I go to dealership furious because they have taken advantage of my elderly parents. I talk with Noah(salesperson) and Harris (finance person) who tries to explain to me and that its not their fault its the banks fault. I asked if they would allow this to happen to their parents. I go on to explain my father is hard of hearing, has been sick (which they knew) and probably did not hear anything he said, so I tell them I will get them financed somewhere else. He says if I can they will pull the deal back from GMAC on Monday Jun , Today , I have them financed at another bank with a difference of 13% yes thats right from 17% to 4% and they refuse to try and pull deal back saying its a new month (OK Mon was also a new Month, not sure what 1 day difference made) They also know I will not be able to refinance because the car will no longer be considered new! SO GMAC will get their horrific interest rate and this dealer will get their kickback and my elderly parents will suffer the consequences. This is hands down, the worst dealership I have ever dealt with. My husband purchased a brand new Escalade ESV from them. At signing he also purchased the interior Dupont stain protection (we have 4 children). He was told to bring it back a few days later to have the interior Dupont guard applied. He dropped it off in the am and was told it would take 4 hours and the car would be done. At the time of drop off he was given the look over and asked if the car was actually his- insinuating one of two of things: 1- he didn't look like he could afford the car or 2- he stole it. At that point he was highly offended. After having the car for over 36 hours (it was only supposed to take 4), we called to check on the car. They were extremely rude in the service department and could never give us an accurate time of when the car would be ready. All the while they had given us a rental car which couldn't even accommodate our family size. Fast forward to a few days later when we realized that there were dents all over the roof of the car that must have been there when it was purchased, we promptly called Cliff, our sales guy, and told him the issue. He asked that we bring the car back to the dealership to have it looked at. That afternoon we showed up and were greeted by the sales manager. He acted like we were inconveniencing him and he proceeded to tell us that his father has "owned many dealerships, including a Porsche dealership, and that cars show up all the time dented and we just pop them out." He said he wanted us to leave the SUV there and pop the dents out. After explaining we didn't feel comfortable paying over 80k for a car that had dents all over the top that they were just going to "pop out", he got very snarky and told us he was just going to "wash the deal" and take the car back because he didn't want to deal with us. We had traded in a vehicle when we purchased this one and it was given back to us. 3 days later we have tried to reach out to the dealership and have not even received a call back from them. So, we currently have a loan for a car that was taken back from us, and are driving around our original vehicle that was traded in. You would think that as a sales manager he would have wanted to ensure that his customers are happy and satisfied with their purchase. We loved the vehicle itself and wish we would have been given the (logical) option to have the vehicle replaced for a new vehicle without dents, since we did purchase the car brand new. If a prospective buyer is reading this, do yourself a favor and drive to the Cadillac dealership in Myrtle Beach to make a purchase. Clearly, the employees at Baker Cadillac could care less about their customer's satisfaction when purchasing a vehicle. read more

10 reasons NOT bring your car to Baker Buick GMC body shop 1. Worst quality and customer service. My car was hit by the Tornado the night of September 24th, 2015. I brought my car into the GMC dealership on October 1st, 2015 to begin repairs, it is not 105 days later and I still do not have my car back. 2. When I brought my brand new 2015 GMC Yukon Denali into Baker GMC I expressed that the insurance adjuster did not cover all the damage as my car was under a tree and covered with branches and debris from the Tornado. They responded that this is normal and that Baker GMC would send a supplement with any additional damage found from the Tornado to the insurance company once they got it up on a lift and under the inspection lights. (Original cost and time for repair noted by the adjuster $2,668 and 10 days to repair putting October 6th as completion date) 3. Manager of the body shop argues and makes excuses with the customer instead of coming up with solutions. 4. Limited to no follow up phone calls to the status of my vehicle. I would be told a date the car would be ready and on that said date no phone call. I would call on my way home from work that day and I would get some type of excuse; either the part didn't come in, or we have to order an additional part, or we need to repaint but I would have never found out this information unless I called. The insurance company couldn't even get this information because of their lack of communication and the absurdly slow and/or lack of processing paperwork. 5. Manager of Body shop states 'you can barely see those scratches how would I know you wanted them replaced'. Must I repeat, MY BRAND NEW 2015 YUKON DENALI WITH 10K MILES ON IT GOT HIT BY A TORNADO. (At this point I want ask if he needs the definition of what a tornado is, and how it acts because I am just flabbergasted that he cannot comprehend that every finish on my car has been hit by the tornado and will have scratches of all sizes, to which I and anyone else with a brand new car would want fixed, no matter how minor the scratch may be) 6. Manager of body shop explains that the paint job isn't perfect but it's acceptable for GM standards. Seriously? I respond 'great, I'm not GM and it is not acceptable to my standards'. 7. I have left messages with the General Manager, to which the first one was responded to on Dec. 30th from the General Managers secretary, whom after listening to my troubles at Baker GMC she said she would guarantee that I would be 100% satisfied with my vehicle when I came to pick it up the following morning. (it's now the 13th....I don't have my car back) The second message was left just yesterday, so I am waiting on a return phone call. 8. Baker GMC is not responsible for paying the bill for all the repairs on my car, yet they want to argue with me, the customer, about what should be replaced, for example; the windshield. The excuse I get for not replacing this when the car when under the initial inspection is 'nowhere on the insurance appraisal did it mention the windshield.' Please refer to #2 above where Baker GMC said they would send a supplement with any additional damage found. BTW my windshield is now on national back order. 9. The manager threatened that they would not pay for my rental vehicle anymore because I did not tell them I wanted all of the trim replaced that is scratched. UNBELIEVABLE. Because I did not tell them how to do their job I am not being threatened...Yet on Dec 31st when I told the manager about the issues I saw with my car, he ensured that he would go panel by panel on my vehicle to make sure everything was perfect. 10. No responsibility to the quality of their work, No acknowledgement that they were at fault. I have zero trust that my car will ever be repaired by Baker Buick GMC Cadillac. read more

I was in that area from out of state for a job interview at another baker store. while I was there my AC quit working so I took it to this dealership while I was there everything was great the staff was extremely accommodating and the service consultant was great. they changed the oil and found the issue with the AC. they said it was AC tubes. I have an extended warranty on the car and they called it in and it was not a covered part so I decided I would wait until I could call them to see why. I came and picked up my car and brought them all doughnuts because they were so great! I was impressed being that I was the Assistant Service Manager at a luxury car dealership. I looked forward to bringing it back. On my way home I realized there was a cup full of change missing out of my car. I was quite upset and normally I remove stuff like that but my car was packed with stuff and I had nowhere to put it. so I called the Service Consultant and left a message. I called the Service Manager and left a message I called everybody and got a hold of nobody! So I called the Fixed Operations Director. The gentleman that I had an interview with just the day before he seemed like he didn't even know what to say. He assured me the Service Manager would call. He never did. I did not make a big deal I just simply wrote it off. The larger issue is when I finally got around to taking it somewhere else to have the work done they informed me it was not AC tubes it was a AC condenser and that the condenser would have been covered by my warranty but now I am out of warranty by millage. On top of all these issues Baker still sent me a survey and I couldn't bring myself to give them a bad survey because I know what those survey's mean to the dealership and the service consultant. I am hoping they will make this right. read more

Recently, I had my Battered Buick repaired at Baker Collision Center. It is the "body shop" for the upscale Baker Motor dealerships. I have always considered Baker to be the classiest of Charleston's Auto Mile. It is the one that does not make annoying radio commercials where the announcer alternates between shouting at you and reciting the fine print in Mickey Mouse fast-speed. For the first time I leased a car, the smaller, easy-to-park Buick, model name Verano. As a single female, the lease concept is working for me. I worry not now about the small fixes, and scheduled services, like oil changes. And when you bring it in they wash the car. Cool. My last car, a large Infiniti had come from Baker and I traded it in as part of the down stroke for my lease. The more one puts down, the less the monthly payment. Alas, my Verano was hit twice - the first time someone backed into my front grill knocking off the emblem, etc. Then when parked on East Bay Street someone vandalized my right side mirror - a souvenir from Charleston? All has been repaired while I waited and applause to the new director of the Collison Center, David Vowels and his team. Flawless. No one would ever guess. And the waiting rooms are the Beverly Hills of the Auto Mile. I now am looking for a B word to name my car...it won't be Brad. read more

So its safe to say pretty close to new.Needed a part that had to be ordered its now been 2 months and several calls later I continue to get the run around. I recently bought a car at this dealership online. The sales representative shipped the car without the temporary license plate. It took over a week and at least 50 calls to get the temporary license plate shipped.In dealing with this shipment the sales representative was inappropriate. Bringing this to the attention of the dealership manager took numerous calls. It seemed that his response to the grievance was reluctant and he did not appear to find anything wrong with the inadequacy or inappropriateness of his sales representative. Know your state laws regarding registering your vehicle if you are not a SC resident. We are active duty stationed in GA, they sold us on the fact that we were tax exempt and would not have to pay registration fess. This is absolutely not true, nor has it ever been. When we went to register the vehicle we had to pay 1900 in TAVT, something very similar to tax, but .5% less. They knew very well that the information they gave us was not correct. They did it to sweeten the deal, to be able to say oh look your saving 2k by buying from us here in sc. It is our fault for not knowing all the laws in GA and going outside the state to buy a car, but what horrible people to exploit us like that. Before we found out we had to pay the fees, we sent some of our friends to baker. They bought a car just a week after us, and they to are in the same situation. Anyone knows that if you are going to have to pay that amount of fees you would add it into the loan. We weren't given that option. Just know your stuff before you buy. No one looks out for your best interest in the car industry. read more

I bought a used car from this dealership and was initially pleased with the follow up from the salesman. Of course that is his business so hopefully he would be good at following up. At any rate, I was pretty certain I was going to buy the car so I contacted him and went out to test drive the car. What initially struck me was the absolute lack of knowledge about the vehicle I was looking to purchase. Seriously didn't have a clue about anything from the engine to how to open the hood. Fortunately we were buying the same car we had so I could figure it out. Once we decided to buy it, I explained that we were buying the car because someone hit us and totaled our car - with our 2 young children in the car. Fortunately no one was hurt but it wasn't an ideal situation. Most people would be sympathetic towards this and maybe go a little above and beyond. Not this dealer. It was just before Christmas and I asked if a bow could be placed on the hood. When I went back to finish up I got the car. No bow, no front floor mats despite the ad that they were included, and no gas. Seriously? I would not recommend this dealership. read more

I was greeted at 7:45 in the morning by Fred who had some trouble looking up my appointment for my 2015 Sierra 1500 Denali for it to have an alignment done. I told Fred that I tried using your online appointment booking from the website and maybe it did not transfer over. He said it wouldn't be a problem and took down all my information and put me in the system for my original 8:30 am appointment. He showed me the waiting area, where to grab a coffee and a water, and handed me the remote for the TV (which I wouldn't get at my old dealership!). The alignment should have only taken an hour or so but I started getting a little restless after about 3 1/2 hours. Fred kept coming in and out to see how I was doing and to check up on my truck like it was his own. He came into me at the 3 1/2 hour mark and explained to me that the tech. finished the alignment once and was not happy with how the truck was still out of alignment, and he went back over the truck and did another alignment on the truck. I DEFINITELY would not have received that type of care at my last dealership. I am down here for work for about 3 mos. and I will definitely use Baker again for any work that needs to be done on my truck. And I would definitely purchase my next truck from Baker GMC in a heartbeat. read more
