We enjoyed our trip to Baker Hill Pancake House. We arrived around 10 am on a Sunday morning, and the place was packed! They were fairly accurate in their wait time, they said 15 minutes and it was right around 20 until we got our table. The waitress was fantastic- she arrived very quickly with our drinks, kept the refills of coffee and pop coming, and took our order in a timely fashion. Our food arrived very quickly, and was good for the price. My skillet was delicious, and the pancakes were fluffy and well cooked too. My husband enjoyed his biscuits and gravy. This location is a bit further from our house than other breakfast joints, so we won't be rushing back- but it is definitely a nice little breakfast joint with reasonable prices. read more

This is one of those places you want to go to every week. The first sign of how good the food is going to be is there's usually a wait. We passed at least a dozen other places most had just a few people in them, here the wait was 20 minutes for a table. Old school family run business where the dad and son are there every day making sure everything is done right. Service is on point with no shortage of staff to make sure everything is handled in a timely manner. But what about the food, after all that is why you go here. Everything is better than grandma made just don't tell her that. Omelettes are so fluffy and flavorful you wonder how they make them so much better than anyone else can. If you like breakfast skillets they have a great selection. Actually they have a great selection of everything, the menu borders on overwhelming because there's so much to choose from. Doesn't matter if breakfast is your thing or if you want lunch you have to try this place. Just remember they close at 3:00 and that pretty much means get there by 2:30 or it's too late to order. Oh and remember they close on Christmas Day but otherwise holiday or not they're there ready to serve you and your family. read more

Good little place to grab breakfast! From the old-school diner atmosphere to the ladies serving up those huge trays of food. We've only been here for breakfast but everything I've ever tried here has been very good. The food comes out fast, your coffee cup is never empty, and there's always a nice variety of folks in here to people watch. The staff is great, even the bus boys are polite. I am always amazed at the servers - most are getting up there in age but you can tell they've been doing this their whole life & they know what they're doing. This is "your friendly neighborhood" breakfast "diner" at it's finest. I just went here recently for the first time (I just moved to the area from the city) and it was busy on a Sunday around 11am. Even though it was crazy busy, they got us seated within 15 mins. This place really knows how to get people in and out efficiently. Even though it was busy like I had said earlier, the service was great. The server greeted us within 5 mins of sitting down and took our orders shortly after that. The girl was very pleasant as well. The prices are pretty easy on the wallet. The skillet I ordered (Carpenters Special) cost 8.25$. There was so much food I couldn't finish it all. Even though it said 2 eggs...it comes with 4! Wow! They sure don't give you cheap ingredients either. Everything is fresh and very tasty. The pancakes were amazing as well. Light and fluffy. They also feature several tasty options for syrup. Want Boysenberry? No problem! The decor is about what you would expect. It looks like it is kinda stuck in a time warp...but so are most breakfast places like this. No Returns My husband & I went here on a busy Sunday morning. First off.. The prices were a lil higher than represented here on Yelp. Coffee & immediate service were good. It seemed clean and prepped for a busy morning. The wait for our food was not bad for how busy they were. Unfortunately, though...we were disappointed because the waitress or the cook completely mixed up our order. My husband wanted 4 eggs scrambled with cheese. I wanted 2 sunny side up & extra crispy bacon. I got 4 sunny side up & he clearly got 2 eggs scrambled. I get that they were busy, but when we brought it to the attention of our waitress she said, "Your eggs were double yolked", & that my husband indeed had 4 eggs in his tiny scrambled pile. Really?!? Two doubled yolked eggs in one breakfast serving. What are the odds. I should play the lottery today!! Oh, and BTW, the bacon, not extra crispy. Plus, With the prices & quantity of food, in the future we can go to another Southern breakfast restaurant and get more for the same price. So unless we just want coffee, we won't be going back. read more

I am new to the area and have to say Bravo to the management for assembling a very talented crew, such teamwork. I have eaten at several pancake houses some major names where the prices were just ridiculous, and service what service? If you like the personal attention, and endless coffee, water glasses that are topped of when they reach 1/2 way, soda's that are refilled without asking a menu that offers a wide variety classics as well as some house specialty's. Yes sunday after services it is a bit of a wait but that is a good thing as it shows loyalty from the patrons who would rather wait for a table than go elsewhere and gamble with the quality. Did I mention the coffee? I don't know the supplier but the coffee does not need cream and sugar like i do at other places this coffee can stands on its own the flavor and richness Bravo a pancake house with great coffee that you don't need to break the piggy bank for. The management are more than owners they sort orders butter bread fill coffee wipe tables what ever it takes, Plus the regular old timers at the counter are shown respect and met with conversation. You don't find many of these places that are so well rounded the cook staff all have specialty's and the plates are garnished with pleasing decor. I am hesititant to give it a review that it is worthy of for fear of not getting a table on my next visit but seriously if your in the area and want a simple pancake house with exceptional service and a great menu with service that takes you back to the late 60's then give it a try. This place is very close to where I live and a decent option when I want breakfast but don't want to drive out to Walker Brothers or Wildberry. The food here is good, but nothing special. The eggs are always cooked perfectly and the pancakes are filling. The staff is always nice and service is prompt. Breakfast is my favorite meal to eat out. Here there was good service, clean and close to home. The Swedish pancakes were soggy and lacking flavor. The lingonberries were obviously poured from a jar. Had the hot beef sandwich today here. For those who do not know, this is my way of telling how good the place is. One of the better hot beef sandwiches I've eaten in recent memory. It's a winner, as was the roast pork loin, very tasty. Came back on Saturday afternoon, close to closing; ribeye was quite thin, like a 'minute steak', for $13, not so great; 1/2 fried chicken was overfried and sad. Maybe the secret is come during the week for lunch and early dinner? I think the strong point here now is the breakfasts, and in particular, the skirt steak special is absolutely consistently and fabulously well executed, generous portions of meat, hash browns, toast and always always fantastic service. A good neighborhood place to have a diner style meal. Nothing special. They are heavy on the cream sauces with salad,chicken salad, etc. white bread rolls complimentary for lunch. I had the chicken salad croissant sand which and my husband had the zorba salad. Both three stars. Filled the hole. Sweet service and also quick food delivery.
