A true Mom and Pop brunch restaurant. The serving staff are friendly and attentive. The food is hearty and reasonably priced with a wide selection that's not too overbearing. The quality of the food itself is clearly home made and of high quality. When I ordered a Malibu Chicken Sandwich, the menu said chicken breast. I never realized it was an actual chicken breast, not one of those processed, frozen chicken breasts. Quality is the name of this establishment and I will keep coming here for brunch in the future. I highly recommend Baker Hill for breakfast. The eggs are good, pancakes are good, meats are good. Service is excellent and price can't be beat. The hash browns are a little mushy and I like mine less mushy, but that's personal preference. read more

Great food! I've eaten their skillets, the biscuits and gravy and their Avocado Lotto (can't specifically recall the name). All very good! After good meals I really wish they did some sort of homemade, in season pie. Thats the one thing missing, pie! read more

What a great find! I was out in Elgin picking up a gift for my daughter and came upon Baker Hill Pancake House.....the nice lady at the Doll House store in Elgin recommended it. RIGHT ON SISTER! What a refreshing change from the raping and pillaging one experiences on the north shore for breakfast. My son and I ate like kings and the bill was $22 and I clearly over-ordered! A one-yolk egg omelet (special request) was as good and large as I have ever had. Bacon was crispy just like the lovely server said I should order it. I ordered something one does not typically find in Chicago-land: Biscuits and Gravy since I was feeling carefree after a Saturday morning workout. It was homemade, lots of sausage and delicious. Pancakes (which came with the omelet, yikes!) were fluff city....just great. The place was very clean, non-smoking as the other reviewer says and the bathroom was clean. What a great place! I love this place for a great cheap breakfast. Our bill for 2 people and a baby is usually under 15 dollars! They do have lunch/dinner type foods but I believe the closing time is around 2-3pm. Also the entire restaurant is now smoke free on the weekends. read more

Stopped in last weekend - glad we did! My boyfriend had a Fox River Skillet and I had Old Fashioned Pancakes (and stole some of his skillet haha!) The food was really good. Very fast service for being so busy on a Sunday afternoon - and very friendly waitress and host staff. I'd go back! read more

Not a bad breakfast joint. I've passed here many times and finally decided to stop in since I had a taste for breakfast during lunch. I ordered eggs with hash browns and toast. Pretty standard. The hash browns were a little burnt but the great service makes up for that. Everyone is super friendly. After I was seated, I waited about 4 minutes before a waitress came and she apologized for making me wait. That caught me by surprise since I'm usually waiting longer than that at other restaurants! Another good breakfast spot, seven of us came in on a Saturday morning and they were busy but not packed. Service was great, the coffee refills were non-stop. The blueberry pancakes were good, fruit was in the batter not sprinkled on top. The waffles and hot chocolate came with whipped cream on top which made it a hit for the boys. Came here on a Sunday morning, busy time. Was seated right away. Placed our order and got our food within 10 minutes. I ordered the Mediterranean Sunrise Omelet, so good! Extremely disappointed. My friend and I went there yesterday and the waitress asked if we would like any condiments to which my friend said yes ranch please and the waitress yells " why didn't you tell me before I brought your food over I hope you girls never have to waitress" I found this not only rude but offensive I'm a nurse that not only waits in people but feeds them, bathes them , dresses them , gives them meds and so on.. She doesn't know me how dare you talk to a customer like that?! this place is an upgrade from airline food. I am surprised by all the good reviews. that's the reason why we stopped here while on the road. my taco salad took me back to the days of my high school cafeteria. my fiance's club sandwich had aldi's quality deli meat. needless to say we weren't impressed. service was good though and portion sizes were good for the money. This place is great for breakfast - it's been pretty busy on Sunday mornings. I've had to wait about 15 minutes for a table at times. The food comes out very fast and very tasty. 2 eggs = 4, so you definitely get your moneys worth. The skillets are really good and the benedicts aren't bad either. read more

Moved into the area just recently. My daughter and I headed there on a Sunday AM for breakfast. Line was short got seated in under 5 mins. waitress was great. We got the cinnamon swirl french toast and red velvet french toast. Both were great the red velvet was a bit to sweet for my daughter so we swapped. Atmosphere was chill and very typical. One of them asked for ranch dressing, only for the waitress to exclaim 'why wouldn't you tell me earlier when I was by the kitchen?!? I hope you girls never have to wait tables...'
