Just got done eating, and I'm having trouble writing this review, not too often am I absolutely full from eating. Food was delicious from the bruschetta, to the chicken and spinach pizza and the amazingly AWESOME dessert, the chocolate chip cookie. Our server Isabel really friendly, and outgoing. I loved the bookers "Shiny Barrel batch" they have have from the 2019. The old fashioned with Basil Hayden was really delicious that I got from Dominik. Service was excellent as was the food! They have a varied menu so everyone in your group can find just what they are looking for. Shrimp tacos for breakfast (ok, it was brunch), no problem! The bacon was excellent and although I try to avoid bread the rye bread was very good. Our waiter continually checked on our table and a manager came out to see if we had any concerns. The food here is pretty good. I've liked the food on both visits, however the menu is so small and limited that after two visits I feel like I've tried what I'm going to try and that it's not good enough or varied or interesting enough to keep me coming back. I'd rather go somewhere like Famous Toastery. However, the worst part is that when I came here for dinner a few weeks ago, we were seated by the big rolling glass garage doors they have going out to the patio. One would think when they are closed for the winter that it would be insulated. WRONG. There was a HUGE gap and cold air was BLASTING into the restaurant. I don't know how they afford to heat the place. Our seats were SO cold even with our coats left on that we were shivering the entire meal. You could actually feel the cold wind blowing in through the door right onto you. How has no one who works here noticed this? It's insanely bad. Four years later and I'm (sadly) changing my review from 5 stars to 2 stars. Wife and I have visited 3 times in the last 6-8 months and this place seems especially hard-hit by a staffing shortage. And the current wait staff is sub-par. It was 5:50 before our waiter even came to our table tonight after our party of four was seated at 5:30. Our entrees came out before our drinks from the bar. Our waiter basically told us to pass our dirty plates to him when we were done and we were overcharged for 2 of the 4 entrees. Overall, pretty sad vibe here and luckily there are too many other ( good) choices to continue to go back here. read more

My family and I really want to like this place. They do, but I have a different opinion - specifically on breakfast. On multiple occasions, the order has consistently been wrong or I reveive the call back that "even though that item is on the menu, we haven't been trained yet". Today, I ordered the Greek yogurt bowl, $11. I received the order containing about 3oz of vanilla (think Dannon) yogurt, not even a whole strawberry, a few pieces of banana and 10 blueberries. See picture - you can even see the bottom of the container. I called to ask a manager if this was the norm, and gave up after waiting 20 mins on hold. My advice - skip breakfast, certainly the yogurt bowl, due to inconsistency and go with lunch or dinner. read more

I was really glad we were able to be seated promptly, because I hate waiting. Especially when I am hangry! I really love the inside and the decor. It reminds me of a farmhouse rustic style with the wood beams and openness of the kitchen and dining area. It looked like they had a large upstairs area as well, but I didn't get to check that out. I hope to sit out on the patio when it gets warmer and take advantage of their happy hour. Brunch/breakfast was just ok. The coffee was strong. I really liked it, but I needed some more creamer because I am a wimp! I ordered the Maryland omelette with lump crab, but it was a little too fishy for my taste. Maybe the crab was out of a can? Maybe it was just me but overall it was good. The service could have been better, as I have seen from other posts about this restaurant, but maybe we got it at an off time, or people called out. Baker's Crust is the new kid in town and they have quickly become one of my favorite spots for lunch or evening drinks. A nice, clean, and spacious restaurant and bar, with great lighting and pleasant rustic decor. They have come a long way since they opened and they have really hit their stride, despite some tough competition in Ashburn. The staff is courteous​, friendly, and very professional.​ They really take care of you and make you feel welcomed. Special kudos to one of the new managers, Katie​, who is a superstar in the making, always keeping an eye on her customers to make sure they receive good service. But all the waiters and bartenders I have interacted with, are money in the bank. I can tell that Baker's carefully chooses their hires. The menu is American cuisine fare with a local, farm-to-table feel. Despite being a chain, it doesn't taste like "corporate food". So far, I am yet to be disappointed​ about any of the dishes or drinks I have tried. Not a big fan of brunch, but maybe that's just me. They have a solid gluten-free/gluten-friendly menu as well. I have heard mixed reviews about this place, but my experience wasn't bad at all. Our server was very attentive and the food tasted great! I went with co-workers. Some had been there before and some had not. For the table, we ordered the Avocado Toast off the Starter's menu. I wouldn't say it was absolutely spectacular and something I have never eaten before, but everyone agreed that it tasted good. I had the toast with the quail egg and bacon, and j thought it tasted very clean. I wish there was a little more seasoning or something, but overall it tasted pretty good. The manager dropped off some of a their Tomato and Cheese soup for the table on the house. The soup was pretty good. The chips that came with it were yummy!! The soup was creamy and so the salty chips went well together. Was the soup out of this world? No, but it was creamy and had good flavor. For lunch I got the Smoked Chipotle Gouda Burger, and I loved it! I loved the chipotle aioli they used and my burger was cooked perfectly. I loved the flavor and smokiness of the chipotle gouda and the juiciness of the burger... and I LOVE brioche rolls. I have not on single complaint. I asked for an extra side of the aioli and put a little extra on there for some more spice which I love. I would definitely come here for lunch again. I would really like to try their lunch BC combo. You can combine 2 items from their salads, soups or artisan sandwiches for $12 which isn't bad. One of my coworkers got it and you said still get a solid amount of food. read more

Tired of the same old thing, so decided to try Bakers Crust. Pretty diverse menu available. The restaurant design is pretty cool as well. Sat promptly and quickly noticed they had happy hour food prices (3p-6p) on a few items. Ordered Calamari for $5 and Neapolitan cheese pizza for $6 (menu prices $12+.) Before apps arrived we ordered at Turkey BLT to split with the wife. Expecting typical sampler size happy hour specials, we were shocked the pizza was same as menu. I quickly thought about cancelling the Turkey BLT because the portion size for the Calamari was unbelievable as well. The Pizza: Neapolitan style, that was thin and charred to perfection. Pizza alone, could easily be all they needed to sell, and it would be probably the best Neapolitan Pizza in Washington DC area. In fact, I just reviewed Tennessee Weiliams (Ottawa, CA) which is a pizza only place, that I thought was a personal Top five favorite pizza place, but Bakers crust might even be better. The only downer is they have a set menu of pizzas vs design your own. However, since the crust was so thin and perfectly cooked, they are probably minimizing the inability to have thin crust if overloaded w toppings. The Calamari: great portion size and typical fried calamari. It was good but wish they had a marinara to dip in versus honey Thai size. The Turkey BLT: was very good with Turkey that seemed like chunks of rotisserie (etc) Needless to say, we took 1/2 the pizza home. Will be back. read more

Haha) The service can be hit or miss here, but the food is ALWAYS a hit. For service, it's not that the staff is rude, or anything like that, it's just that they can be slowwwwww. I think it's a combination of being busy, or backups in the kitchen, or just them needing to brush up on basic skills (such as, don't keep walking past a table without, at least, checking up on things, like, refill a drink, clear a plate, ask how we're doing, etc). Ashburn just might not be as dull as I thought it was. When I first moved down here I saw Subway's, Domino's, and get ready McDonalds everywhere. I guess that was good ol fashion sort of southern cuisine. That was in 2015. Since, while no great Italian deli like I'm used to- from New Jersey- it has gotten better. But Bakers Crust makes it very very much better. I had a Shrimp taco that actually exuded multiple flavors and made me cry it was so damn good. Thank you for choosing Loudoun County. I thought the customer service was the worst part until I tasted the food. The morning consisted of two phone calls, the first no one spoke and all I could hear was the noise of the restaurant. The second a nice young lady took my order. I ordered two Jamaican French toasts, with one side of hash brown for me and a side of bacon for my boyfriend TO-GO. I thought it strange that the phone call ended without my total or a review of my order. Upon arriving they only had one French toast for me. My boyfriend waited inside for 15 minutes for them to make the additional French toast. We live about five minutes from the restaurant and when we got home we ate right away and all the food was cold and soggy. The bananas were brown and slimy and the French toast was dry. To top it off there was no syrup. The bacon was decent and I guess the hash browns were the best thing there. read more

Good!! My table ordered Blueberry pancakes with lemon curd, avocado toast with scrambled egg and the eggs Benedict with crab meat. Let's start with the most delicious thing: the pancakes!!!!! These pancakes were so good, super moist, flavorful and not too sweet! Best thing we ordered. I didn't order this my fiancé did so I only had a few bites but it was delicious! The avocado toast was pretty good as well! No complaints there. The eggs Benedict was half good. The actual Benedict itself was pretty good. The egg was cooked perfectly, the English muffin was crispy and buttery, the crab was a nice addition and the hollandaise was SO GOOD. Let's get into what I didn't like on the plate....the potatoes or hash browns as they call them were pretty nasty. I'm pretty certain it's frozen cubed hashbrowns indicated by the orange hue and the flavor. When I have eggs Benedict I need a nice home fry or roasted potato to accompany. These just fell really short I love potatoes and I think I ate maybe two of the little cubes and left the rest on my plate. I would come back but for the pancakes, that's it. read more

We were on the way to another fairly new restaurant in the same shopping center when one of my friends noticed that Baker's Crust was OPEN! Original lunch plans scratched quickly, we excitedly made the detour and could not have been happier with our decision. Open for just 4 days, we had the pleasure of being served by the super friendly and helpful Addison (spelling?). He shared that Baker's Crust imported him from their Richmond restaurant to help with this location's opening - smart move on their part, he was great! The restaurant is beautiful- lots of wood planks and shiplap both outside on their sign and inside by the bar. I didn't get the best peak at the decor inside as we asked to sit outside, but I love the touch of the roll-up garage door type windows opening up to outside patio seating where a fireplace sits just waiting for winter. The restaurant overlooks the lake and with it's fountain and ducks swimming all in a row, I basically could not have drawn up a more perfect lunch setting. I also have to add that they have a rooftop area that my friends and I bookmarked in our minds for our next happy hour outing. Okay onto the food - They have a decent sized menu. Lots of options from tacos to pizzas to sandwiches. Meals are not what anyone would consider cheap in Loudoun County in general, but their dishes were reasonably priced. My Charleston Chicken and Avocado with house-made parmesan chips (for $11.50) was great. A crispy buttermilk fried chicken, yummy thick bacon and fresh slices of avocado in between a very soft and buttery brioche roll - delicious. Their house-made chips were pretty good too, though quite a few were a bit soft. My friend subbed her chips with their fries and these were great. Served super hot and perfectly crispy with a plethora of dipping sauces - Addison asked if we wanted some, I love sauces so this was greatly appreciated. Other items ordered by my table were the Tuna Tacos served with grilled corn on the cob with a nice sprinkling of queso fresco on top. My friend said this was delicious with healthy slices of tuna and avocado all brought together by their chipotle aioli sauce. Another friend also ordered their Chicken Guacamole Panini - chicken breast thinly sliced (we thought it was turkey at first) guacamole, and muenster cheese in between crisp slices of jalapeño & cheddar bread. This too was a hit and for all of our meals, we concluded that "yes, we would order this again, but definitely want to try one of the other yummy sounding dishes next time." Last but certainly not least (and probably should've been first) we ordered a round of drinks before our meals and these were also SO on-point. I ordered the Exotic Pear Mule which was great and exactly what I was hoping for. The ginger beer didn't taste like club soda and the lime juice and syrup pours were just right - not too sweet and not at all sour. How many times have I said it, I love a good mule - this was a good mule. My friend ordered the Hibiscus and Berry Sangria (the menu only has a pitcher price, but they did let her get a single glass) - she absolutely loved this. The freshness of the hibiscus was perfect for the mild summer day. Another friend ordered a glass of their Sauvignon Blanc - no complaints here either. Overall a great addition to the area's growing list of new restaurants. It's starting to get impressive around here and choosing a lunch spot is getting tough. Certainly not a problem I hate though. We went back to Baker's Crust for a second time today to check out brunch. Of note, they just opened last Monday and this was their first Sunday brunch, so I think it's reasonable that they still have some kinks to work out. I loved the brunch menu selections and had a hard time choosing. Today I had the Jamaican French Toast and it was excellent. My son loved his belgian waffle. My other son thought the flapjacks were just okay. They forgot to bring syrup with the french toast, waffle, and pancakes, and it seemed like it took an unusually long time to go back to the kitchen and return to the rooftop seating area. Recommendation to Baker's Crust: Have a manager do some quality control / check the plates before they make their way up to the rooftop seating area where it takes longer if you forgot something, or maybe have a radio for calling down to the kitchen to have quick-response things sent up. My wife enjoyed the caprese panini. I want to go back and try the Swanky Benedict next time (eggs benedict with buttermilk fried chicken and bacon on a sweet potato biscuit). Don't order the coffee. The first round of coffee was WEAK. I mean, it tasted like hot water with some brown food coloring in it, no detectable taste of coffee. Next time the waiter came back, I said hey, I know this is the first Sunday brunch for this restaurant, so just wanted to feed back the coffee is really weak. He apologized and went to replace it for me. He brought me back another cup of coffee from a new pot, but was gone before I poured the cream in it. This batch of coffee tasted acidic and nasty and I couldn't drink it. I just left it. The waiter never came back to ask if the second cup he brought me was any better than the first, and he didn't comment on the fact the cup was still completely full and untouched when he brought the check. My advice to Baker's Crust is you should have someone taste test the coffee to make sure it's good. All in all, I would give the food 4 stars and the service 3 stars, but again they just opened. I am optimistic about upgrading the rating as they get rolling. read more

This place is great! We went here on a snowy morning, yet they still had quite a number of customers. This is a good sign. They provide crayons for kids which really helps us parents! Wish more restaurants did this. We were seated very quickly and was able to get our order in quickly. We got the prosciutto and garlic tomato pizza, baker's breakfast and the kid's eggs and toast. Everything was great! The pizza was really awesome! That 900 degree oven makes a huge difference. We also ordered a side of broccolini later on during our breakfast so we expected it to come out later but when it came out, the manager came by and comped it for it taking too long to come out. That's such a nice initiative and really shows their strive for excellence. Broccolini I was indeed really good! It has some cheese in it which makes it nice and crunchy. Baker's Crust used to be one of my favorite local restaurants. Unfortunately, the menu and quality of the food has declined since the pandemic. The outdoor patio is lovely, but that doesn't make up for the limited menu or food. Used to love the Thai Chili Shrimp appetizer, but that was taken off the menu during the pandemic. I ordered the Thai Chili Shrimp taco which I have ordered before. Instead of Mexican corn on the cob, it is now served with a side of French fries. How hard is it to find a complementary side for tacos? The tacos were not as good as previously. With other options nearby, I am unlikely to return. read more

We went here for a late breakfast/brunch last weekend. It was just OK. Had been before and felt like it was more flavorful the first time. My dish was the crab omelet. It was literally an egg omelet that just had a spoonful of crab meat and a slice of cheese slapped on the top. It lacked flavor and was not particularly well seasoned. The home fries tasted as though they had been sitting under a heat lamp for quite some time and were pretty flavorless and dry. The other two in our party had similar feelings. The other omelet was a bit lackluster - again with a slice of cheese just draped over the top - and the chicken and waffles were just ok. The chicken had very little seasoning and was dry. Again, it seemed as though it had been sitting under a heat lamp and dried out. Kind of disappointing because the first time we had gone we liked it so much more. read more

I have been to this place a few times. Depending on the server/time you go for the lunch or dinner can be hit or miss. During our recent visit in a large group it was meh... Pizza was okay this time. Lunch on a Saturday. I got the swanky eggs benedict and wife got the Baltimore with crab meat eggs benedict. Food was good overall. The fried chicken on my swanky could have used a bit of salt underneath the fried crust. Service was excellent. Waitress was very attentive and helped us move seats because of a cold draft.
