So glad to come back to Bakers crust after a long hiatus. A friend invited me to join her and another Yelp Elite for a Galentines dinner. The Galentine's menu contained a drink, two choices for food and a dessert I went with a cold brew martini, the sliders, the fries, and a raspberry cheesecake. Everything was fantastic. I wish I had saved enough room for finishing my dessert. I just brought the dessert home for later. A very successful Valentine's Day dinner. The place was busy. I'm sure it was because of Sunday being the last day for the Valentine's Day dinner menu anddinner and Valentine's Day weekend. The service was really nice. Everyone was super friendly. I knew they have great happy hour during the week, so I'm gonna be coming back for that as well as brunch .

First time dining in for dinner at Bakers crust the layout itself was very spacious and I love that about restaurants that I dine into because you want to have that private area of you're coming in with a date or we're friends and then of course if you want to have that group setting they do have a section where they have a booth/tables and that's always very convenient for larger parties so it's definitely a big establishment where they can cater to both a solo dinner date night or even a group setting. I been to the Greenbrier location for brunch and this was my first time at the Norfolk location. I appreciate the service as well as the special that they had going on was a Galentine's dinner for this week special an the menu was actually a good price for the amount of food and include a alcohol alcoholic beverage or nonalcoholic beverage, which to me was a plus and unique way to get people to come to the business as well as they do do happy hour where they incorporate food and drinks as well with a discounted rate so this is definitely a good choice for those that like to get that perfect bundle of food/drink special. I actually went with a couple of friends that I met off the Yelp elite community and we decided to do a girls dinner and it was actually a very fun experience audience and I would say that the choices on the menu were very spot on of a classic girl dinner where they had a side of Caesar salad that was actually good on the flavor department, but the only thing was the salad was whole was a little bit hard to eat just because of it and be more of like a spinach base where it had a lot of the whole parts and not chopped up. That was the only thing but definitely still amazing with flavor that was one of the most flavorful salads that I've had at a restaurant. The sliders were also a good pairing for the drink that , which was blackberry bourbon, not too heavy and not to light and very more of that classic snack size to incorporate the menu itself well as well and the toppings on the burger we're classic as well as very, not overpowering with the flavor of the burger itself. The last and the best thing that any girl would love to have after a long evening is a dessert a this white chocolate coconut cake was a showstopper. It was like creamy and not too heavy and more of an airy. Another thing that I did like about this baker crust is that they incorporate each section where you can see the action of the portion where the pizzas are being made fresh right then an there and than of course you have your traditional chef's kitchen area, where all the magic happens but I definitely did like that chef table like experience. Were you able to see them come into work with what food they craft as well as the drinks overall, I would recommend this place and I've been to both Chesapeake an now in Norfolk and I've been to both brunch and now dinner and I would be going there more often to see the other menu options as well as happy hour special that they serve

Consistently great! I brought my Dad hear AGAIN for lunch on a pretty busy Friday. Our young male server was delightful. He was very busy with a large 14 top table as well but certainly made time to ensure our drinks were refilled, etc. The wine country salad is still a favorite of mine. This time I did the combo and split it with the tomato and cheese soup. The atmosphere was bustling but still pleasant to have a nice conversation at lunch.

My husband and I came here with a group. It was our first time at Baker's Crust. The food was pricey and there were some added fees that could have been explained better by the server beforehand. We passed by a number of Baker's Crusts in the area and we're looking forward to eating there, however, the food just tasted okay and in our opinion wasn't worth the high price. A number of people in our party also weren't impressed with the food, although one person who ordered the Blueberry Lemon Curd Flapjacks was happy with his meal. I ordered the Fish and Chips, which was hot and filling but was barely seasoned. The environment was spacious and clean. The waiter was friendly. Pros: Friendly service, clean, filling meal, good portions, can accommodate large groups Cons: Taste of food does not match up to the high price, fees weren't explained beforehand

There was an estimated 15 minute wait upon arriving on a Sunday afternoon. The server Amber was cheerful and offered her opinion on drinks And food, which we appreciated. The food was just okay. Nothing to rave about. The drink was average. The restaurant seating was cozy. Tables are rather close. Would return for those days when Im in the area and don't want to cook.

This was my first time at this Baker's Crust, and I thought everything was pretty good for the most part. I'll admit that this Baker's Crust is a little smaller than the other ones I have visited in the area. Fortunately for us, we did not have to wait too long for a table on an early Sunday afternoon (or as I call it post-chuch "happy hour). For my dinning pleasure, I went with the Chicken and Waffle. Although I'm not a huge fan of places serving chicken tenders instead of chicken wings for Chicken and Waffles, I thought the dish was good. Overall, everyone at our table were happy with their dishes. I thought the service at the table was pretty good because two or three waiters constantly checked in with us. I'll admit that I'm not a huge fan of members of service teams constantly stopping by the table, but I know some folks really like this, so I don't get too out of sorts about this. I'll say I thought service at the bar could have been a bit better. In my opinion, I thought the bartender was a bit distracted by other folks eating and drinking at the bar because it took us about 5 minutes just to get his attention and 15 minutes to get our drinks. Other than that very minor blip, the staff was pretty on point. Food prices were pretty decent compared to other similar restaurants in the area. The menu has a nice variety of dish, so I think everyone should find something that they would like. All in all, I'd more than likely would stop by this Baker's Crust if I'm in the area.

Food has always been immaculate, I greatly appreciate the staff for the kind service , as well as keeping my coffee over full . Establishment is always well staffed ,and knowledgeable. How ever 1 small draw back is the singular table that is in the middle of the back of the room close to the bar , staff have a hard time stay a close and safe enough distance from people such as my at the table.

Run, don't walk, as far away from this place as possible. It's awful. They are just phoning it in. Last night we went for the pizza. Ordered calamari app and two pizzas and all were delivered at once. I complained and was asked did I want pizza taken off. No! I want my appetizer delivered to my table before my entree. I mean seriously this is restaurant 101! Server just shrugged. Took cold pizza home and tried to re heat and eat but Twas awful and went into trash. And for this I paid 45.00.

Love this place! The food is always good! I had the CHARLESTON CHICKEN & AVOCADO buttermilk fried chicken, honey beurre blanc, avocado, applewood smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato, honey mustard, brioche roll, side of house-made parmesan chips. (not available for combo). The chicken is full of flavor but not greasy. The avocado is perfectly creamy. There is just enough honey mustard. The bun is Devine and the bacon oh my! Loved the Parmesan chips. My daughter had the MALIBU SANDWICH sliced roasted turkey, avocado, mozzarella, cucumber, tomato, arugula, herb mayo, multigrain bread, side of house-made parmesan chips. Excellent! The server was very nice. Not pushy. Refreshed our water and ice tea often.

This is a really nice place to have breakfast and lunch. They also have a brunch menu on Sundays and their Benedicts are really good! They have a patio and they are pet friendly. Last time I had a Jamaican crepe for dessert and I was very surprise, it was very tasty. It's not too sweet and it comes with ice cream! You can get a combo of soup, salad and/or a sandwich for like $11. Perfect place to have a nice meal with family or friends! read more

Honestly this is a top place for me. The deals were really amazing. Their drink special was the Tito's lemonade. It was literally AMAZING. I wasn't sure what aioli I wanted to try, so the waitress gave me a sample plate. They were all DELICIOUS. I was shocked tbh because the place really didn't seem my speed/type. Once I sat down, it was perfect. I love the atmosphere of this place. It's very comfortable and relaxed, but sells very high quality food, that's visually appealing as well as utterly delicious. I plan on going back in a few days to try the Pizza. I had a burger this time! I also bought some desserts to go, in for sure a fan. read more

Came for lunch and was looking forward to pizza. We were informed that the pizza oven cook called out so no pizza for us. The mozzarella and tomato was cut so thick and had hardly any basil oil and such a small amount of balsamic drizzle that one bite took care of that. It was not good. read more

We come here at least twice a month bc we love it that much. My wife and I try to get something different every time and we still haven't eaten out way through this delicious menu. We like to sit at the bar, and it seems like our cocktails never run dry. Breakfast or lunch you can't go wrong. It's our favorite spot and we bring people here when we have visitors in from out of state. I do wish they would get on open table or no wait, there's always a wait for a table no matter what time you arrive- which is what started our bar sitting tradition. 100% recommend the Bloody Mary- it's straight forward without a whole ass meal on top. read more

The food was okay & we were sat pretty quickly. The only issue was after we were done eating. We waited about fifteen minutes for boxes, only got them because my husband went up to the bar and asked for them. We completely understood that they were busy, however the woman that was waiting on our table was standing behind the bar for the majority of the time. She only came to our table when we were about to pay at the bar so we could leave. Gave four stars because again we're giving them the benefit of the doubt, the manners of the server were great, and the service was very efficient and quick when we first arrived and ordered. read more

Haven't been here for a while and was pleasantly surprised with the delicious version of eggs Benedict plus fried chicken! The chicken was juicy and the biscuit was flaky and not dry. Baker's Crust rocks! They have such healthy and fresh options for all food lover types! I am personally a big fan of their combos where you can pair a salad and soup or sandwich which is a great idea and way to try two entrees scaled down to smaller sizes and served as one! My favorite combo is their wine country salad which has traditional greens, grapes, strawberries, pear and a delicious raspberry vinaigrette dressing on the side! I chose to pair my salad with soup specifically the mushroom brie which is my favorite! I love mushroom soup and Baker's Crust's ranks up there in my top 5 favorites! They also do a great happy hour with appetizer and drink specials! On my most recent visit, I did their specialty cocktail of the day which was a White Russian infused with coffee and it was very good! Overall, I think Baker's Crust is a great local restaurant chain that we should support! They have a fantastic menu and great food so it's definitely worth a visit! read more

Salt. Seasoning. Something. Was lacking taste so much. The best thing was the hashbrowns/potatoes. Was a little disappointed bcuz their breakfast burrito seemed like it had so much flavor and didn't seem to have half the ingredients it was suppose to. Even the table next to us who ordered the chicken and waffle said their chicken needed salt and was super bland. We all had to ask the waitress for some hot sauce to have some flavor. I don't think breakfast is their specialty. Curious to come back for their pizza or dinner menu. Staff was amazing. read more

A Hampton Roads homegrown, hidden treasure! I absolutely LOVE their Spinach and Bacon pizza (see the photo I uploaded). The crust is phenomenal, and they use a roasted garlic paste with it that gives it its unique taste. Also, they make their crust with a malt, which is somewhat unique to making pizza crust. I'd love to see them open one in the Harborview area of Suffolk to make it a little more convenient, as we live in Smithfield. read more

I was pretty sure I had left a review of this place but maybe it was when I ate at one in Chesapeake with a friend... Either way - I'm a fan of Baker's Crust. I always drool over the crepes but haven't tried them - I've sat at the bar several times so I've seen them in all their glory while they're being made. Let me go ahead and say I love this location. It's in a cute little shopping area of Ghent near Colley Ave. with some little paper stores and jewelry stores and cute little antique stores and mom and pop restaurants. So the location is great but so is the food. I love their fresh chips, their salads (especially the wine country and kale salads) are amazing. I've had a pesto, tomato, mozzarella panini on a jalapeño bread which was delicious. Today I met a friend for lunch and had the soup of the day - a spicy jerk chicken soup with rice, sweet potatoes and beans and I loved it. It was really good. Their desserts are fabulous - I especially love the key lime pie. They serve it in this little mason jar and it is a huge portion. My favorite dessert here by far (but I still need to eat some crepes!) The reason for the three stars is I would've given them four but I am not too happy about some of the outrageous prices for food here. The soup of the day I got today was $6.50 for a cup and it came in a really small little side looking bowl thing that wasn't even a cup. That is A LOT of money for a side of soup. Mind you, it was a side, but I paid for a full size bowl not a half soup half salad thing. I bought a full Kale salad (which you can't do the half and half with anyway) and paid for a soup. The size was fine - but the price is a bit much for that little bit of soup - no matter how good. I also got their skillet brownie once and it was nasty. Big let down. It was hard and stuck to the little skillet it is baked in - like when you try to get some of it out you end up scraping pieces of it up with fork and it has cookie chunks stuck to the bottom that won't come off. Not good. It wasn't delicious at all and I ate less than half of it. I'm a fan - I want to try a pizza at some point but I usually stick with salads. One day! read more

Wonderful food. The best crab bene I have ever had. I will definitely be dreaming of it for a long time. The English muffin was fork tender. The eggs perfectly runny with great Hollandaise sauce. The Bloody Mary was a perfect complement. The recipe for the drink is slightly different from most mixes or something. Either way, I look forward to returning next time I'm in Virginia. read more

Things have changed a little bit since I moved to northern Virginia, but the food is still great. I was in the mood for their biscuits and maple sausage with gravy, but unfortunately I was a year too late. I opted for the Ham Scrambler, which consists of three scrambled eggs with ham and cheese, two sausage links, breakfast potatoes, and choice of toast. It was very delicious and a good value for the price. The coffee had a bit of a burnt taste, but I suppose that happens once in a while. I had to ask for a refill even though the restaurant wasn't overly busy. If I have time while visiting friends next time, I will go back to have a Jamaican crepe; those used to be my fave there. read more

Greeted with a smiling face upon arrival. We were served complimentary chips (made on site) & tomato soup both were yummy! Our food was served quickly and as ordered! I would definitely come back again. The restaurant's atmosphere was very comfortable & I loved the skylights and to look at the pizza oven fire. Our server forgot our coffee and had to signal her down for a follow up request like I didn't get jelly with my toast. No problem but I am mentioning it. Very good experience though overall!! Loved this place so much while visiting a friend who lives in Norfolk that we went 3 times that week! The Honey Crisp Mules are so refreshing and light-but not in alcohol. All three tacos are the bomb! (Shrimp, fish, & chicken) I loved the pasta salad, It's different. Only negative thing I would say it that we didn't think the Shrimp & Crab Pasta was worth the $23/24 dollars at all. The portion is enough for only one & we could hardly see the crab in it. (Sauce was great though!) Overall loved it! Wish we had one in Georgia. read more

Great spot for brunch. Very busy around noon on Sunday. We've ordered dinner from here from Door Dash several times and loved it. There were a few nights that some ingredient was switch out for something else but still good. So, we thought we'd try it for lunch. I ordered avocado toast which comes with a poached egg and micro greens. Except they were clearly out of micro greens and didn't let me know. Instead, it was a bed of lettuce under the smashed avocado and egg which let to it all slipping and sliding around my plate the whole time and just frustrated and kinda ruined the meal. Recommend in the future, let customers know if something will be different than the menu lists. Otherwise, the service was good, if not just a tiny bit slow, nice decor, reasonable fancy brunch prices, and overall decent experience. A little closer management of timing and substitutions and it'd be a 5 star. read more

The food and drinks here are always pristine. The service is wonderful; whoever does staffing really knows how to pick a team. However, during these past few visits I've noticed delivery drivers coming in rude and standing in the walkways. It's off putting for the customers even though nobody says anything. This is a nice somewhat casual restaurant so customers really don't want to see or hear people who don't really care like that.. maybe if doordashers/GH could have a space in the foyer it would be nicer- which a lot of other restaurants do now bc of complaints. read more

I went to Baker's Crust for dessert on Thursday around 4:00 PM. I ordered a crepe and a slice of chocolate cake. Both desserts were phenomenal. I didn't order a main meal, but after looking at the menu I definitely intend to return for a full meal. I love their emphasis on sustainability and local farming. The restaurant is somewhat small and the seating is close. To me it seems more like a lunch venue. They do have a nice outdoor seating area that I'm sure is great for a summer lunch. Overall food was great, atmosphere was good, and service was good. I will definitely be returning. read more

I brought my friend from out of town in for breakfast on friday morning. This is one of my favorite places, i raved to her about the food and service before going. Well, this time the service was awful, my server made it feel like we were inconveniencing her and her attitude was awful, she seemed very fake. she knew nothing about the menu, maybe she was new, she was very short and had brown hair. it was not the same happy, sweet energy im used to when going there. the food was absolutely amazing, as always. definitely will be back, but i will ask for a different server if shes there next time. read more

I love to hit Baker's crust for brunch. I usually get the ham and cheese egg combination which also includes your choice of bacon or sausage, toast, and home fries. 10/10!!! The food is always great and I like the mimosas as well. The service is great even when it is busy. I feel like I always got my drink refilled and food was hot and fresh. I think that it can get busy at certain times but luckily I have only needed to wait maybe 10 minutes max for a table. I have gone there for lunch as well and usually get a burger. I tried the one with the egg on it and it was delish! I definitely recommend if you are looking for a place with a lot of menu options. The ambiance is very family friendly and calm. read more

I've lived in Ghent for quite a while now. Baker's Crust has really stepped its game up the last few years. They used to seem cool, as if they had excellent menu ideas, and theme ideas, but with poor execution. The food was consistently mediocre or off the mark. The place had potential but I stopped going there. But I went again about 6 months ago -- I went with a friend on a whim and this time the place was clearly revamped. Everything felt cleaner and more organized, and the menu was filled with detail on how Baker's Crust sources its ingredients and related decisions they make and why. I didn't know it until now but I guess I always wanted to see the rationale behind the sourcing of ingredients I'm eating. It's very comforting knowing exactly what you're putting in your body. Plus the interior was madeover into a more comfortable setting. But most importantly, the food was a 10/10. Since then I tested BC a couple more times and the food and service was oustanding each time. I just went back with my wife tonight, and the food was so good I figured I'd restore some of this place's street cred. Tonight we had the (forget exact names) italian hoagie and applewood-cheddar-egg burger. Both were delicious, my Grapefruit and Cucumber Collins was awesome. 10/10 all around. On top of that my wife has celiac, and we're super cautious about dining out, but BC staff made her feel very comfortable and so did the GF menu which extensively covered the allergen risks. My wife said the gluten free food was perfect. I'm pleasantly surprised that I have to add BC in with the other great food places in Ghent -- No Frill, Public House, Luna Maya, Ten Top, Raj Put Keep up the good work Baker's Crust! read more

This was the perfect last minute brunch spot a friend and I visited on Monday, when we happened to be in Norfolk running errands. It's beautiful inside, very spacious and was pretty empty when we first arrived around 11:30 am. Our server was so sweet and friendly, and had a great personality. The lemon lavender martini was delicious, and I loved the hash browns that came with the Baltimore Benny. My friend loved her omelette and I got two pastry items to go, one raspberry and one lemon. The raspberry was okay, it was very crumbly, but the lemon was delicious. I'd definitely come back if I was in the area. read more

We have gone here several times in the past years since my sister lives in Chesapeake and this is her favorite eatery. The sandwiches and salads are outstanding. Everything we had tonight was fantastic! The Charleston Chicken Avacado sandwich I had to was gigantic and fresh. The chicken was great and the breading was so good! My Mom had the California ruben and absolutely loved it and my fiance had the seafood pasta and loved it. Our service was also fantastic. Our waitress was on top of our table and made sure drinks were filled. Also kudos to the restaurant for bringing out some of the house chips and soup samples since it was my Mom's first time there. I go here a couple of times a month for a late afternoon meal to avoid the busy dinner hour. They have a varied menu which includes full entrees, salads, pizzas and burgers/sandwiches, as well as beer, wine, and cocktails. The food is great, the service is always prompt and the servers are pleasant and helpful. On my most recent two visits, Dylan and Elijah were my servers. Both were excellent - very friendly and efficient. I recommend a visit to Baker's Crust the next time you're in the Ghent area of Norfolk. read more

I ate at Baker's Crust while passing through town and it didn't disappoint. A fun, local eatery with a warm atmosphere. They had a lengthy draft list and amazing appetizers. The pub chips with cheese were excellent, as was the bruschetta! For the entree, I got the Smoked Gouda Chipotle Burger, which was cooked just right. Finally, the BEST part was the carrot cake. If you swing by Baker's Crust, do NOT skip dessert (or at least take it to go)!! The carrot cake was honestly the best I've ever eaten. Overall, this is a solid choice for a local restaurant if you want a delicious and well-rounded meal! read more

This is one of my favorite places to go! Patio and bar seating are available, and you can order the full menu at the bar. While everyone is attentive, KARLA IS THE BEST!! Very disappointed in today's visit. I haven't been in a while but what a difference in the customer service now. Looks like they they've had a total staff change. Didn't recognize any of the past long-time staff and the new staff clearly were not focused on customer service. Our waiter barely checked on us even though our coffee cups were empty and we needed more tea and water. We tried for a while to make contact with our waiter who appeared to make eye contact but never reacted to our attempts to get him to come to us. We stopped another waiter and asked for toast but that waiter never delivered the message to our waiter or to the kitchen. We finally got the hostess to track down the waiter and he finally showed up but acted like we were bothering him. We asked about the toast which he didn't know anything about but was more concerned that we understood that it wasn't his fault because we didn't order it from him... just bring us the toast. In the end, he reduced the amount of our check because the toast never came and he made it a point to let us know he reduced it more than the amount of the toast, but it really felt like this effort was more of an effort on his part to make sure it didn't affect his tip. My husband and I came here for brunch on our mini vacation to Norfolk and it was wonderful! Since it was our first time the manager gave us a couple of complimentary tasters which was really nice - and tasty! My husband ordered the seafood pasta which he loved, while I ordered a pepperoni, sausage, and mushroom pizza which was pretty good. The star of the meal was the blueberry lemon curd pancakes which we shared - so good! Our server, Lucinda, was very nice, attentive, and professional. The only downside of the visit was that we were charged full price ($12) for the pancakes while their website stated they were $6 this week. We didn't notice until after we paid & we didn't feel like asking them to correct it. But if you're going for a $6 special specifically, just double check your bill before you pay. We had a large group of 10 first thing Saturday morning when the doors opened. The server and hostess were extremely welcoming and friendly. Had an amazing evening out with my family at BC Ghent. The service was good. Our Server Caroline was amazing, very attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu items.
