I never gave Baker's a chance until recently when the mister told me that the Baker's on Van Buren is finally open and they have a Pineapple Dole Whip shake. Tried the pina colada shake and it tasted like I was on the beach in Hawaii at a luau but there was one thing missing...alcohol. Tried a burger and it was alright but I just tried the not-so-big nachos and that was appetizing. The nachos come with shredded cheese, beans and sour cream and paired with the hot sauce from Miguel's Jr. it's delicious. The hot sauce packet from Baker's is trash so don't ask for it or reject it if they offer it. If you've never heard of this place and are on the fence about trying this vs. getting something from Carl's Jr. I'd say skip Carl's. read more

Versus other fast food restaurants, the biggest difference for me when it comes to Bakers are their milkshakes. Especially the strawberry. A little on the small side but very delicious. That said, regarding everything else on the menu at this Bakers, five stars all day long? Hardly. Four stars? Maybe. The best I can give this or any other Bakers I've tried is a three, I'm not that impressed. Food versus the price you pay does not balance out. Placed a pickup order on the app and says go up to the door and ring the doorbell and go up there and they have a hand written note saying pick up orders have to use the driveway and the driveway is ridiculously long and not moving. Not to mention I went up to the door to go in and it's locked and they turned off their doorbell and they just stare at me standing there. This isn't the first time this has happened too. Came with my good friend after round of golf. Food was good. I go to Bakers semi regularly so know what to expect. Unfortunately, customer service poor. Maria was cheerful and friendly but the younger skinnier one taking orders was humorless and rude. Basically threw my friends change at him without a smile or a thank you. Just a look of disdain. Acted like we were a burden to her. Since she was goofy and giggling with coworkers can't attribute her attitude to a psychiatric condition. Dropped by today for tacos, usually they are fresh and delightful like everything else on the menu. Every taco today had broken shells and was full of dripping grease, grease pooled in the wrappers and the bag, don't know if they were training people or they thought that it would be a funny prank. I've eaten at this Baker's a half dozen times since it opened. FWIW, all I eat here are the burgers and the regular tacos, which are consistently good. Service is quick. Drinks are not watered down. Staff is friendly. Bathroom is clean. IMO, this is definitely one of the better Baker's. My only complaint is that in summer it is freezing inside. I'm not a pie, neither. if i could give 0 stars i would. about a week ago. my daughter and i sat in this drive through for over 30 minutes waiting for our meal. keep in mind it was two cars ahead of us and no other cars parked in the lot. when we finally got to the window the kind cashier apologized for the wait and after i took a peek inside i saw she was running the whole front by herself. i accepted her apology and asked who else was working. she replied "just me and one other person" and i was in shock! this little teenage girl was practically running this place all by herself? after i paid i saw her running from back to front with bags. she gave me my food and it was surprisingly fresh and hot. i told her how sorry i am for her and she just smiled and didn't say anything and wished me a good rest of my day and i left. we parked in front to eat. i'm sure this is a management issue. they're not properly scheduled! my heart aches for the girl. hope this changes! and fast. read more

Tried to order a teriyaki chicken sandwich that didn't have a "number" assigned to it through the drive-thru, wanted to make it a combo. After ordering another combo that did have a "number" on the menu, the order was then repeated back differently than the way it was ordered. It was repeated back as two #2 papa meals. The person tasking the order proceeded to tell us the reason behind her correction through the speaker. Apparently the #2 chicken sandwich combo can be ordered with any type of chicken, whether it be regular, teriyaki, Monterey... It says "any" on the menu but fails to also list the options to chose from; they are listed individually under a different section. My issue is not with the menu or my confusion regarding it, it was the method of conveying the correct way it should be ordered. I don't care if that's how you as an employee have to input it into your register, repeat it back the way it was ordered or phrase your "correction" differently. It's all in the positioning. The food itself was standard, the wait to receive it after paying, aka: lesson on how to order, wasn't bad. When it came to the pickup window no greetings were given, only a question was asked if we wanted ketchup, 2 brown bags were promptly handed out the window and that was it. No, "here's your fries", or "this bag has your sandwiches". Nothing. Since this location is fairly new, the "this location is new" excuse doesn't fly. Why you ask? Because less than 3 weeks ago these employees were in training. Have you forgotten how to say, "hi" or "thank you" already? No, I didn't come here for a quality conversation but I sure as heck don't want to have to be put on defense over a chicken sandwich. read more

Worst service I've seen in quite some time. I watched a customer who thought he ordered a large meal including fries and a drink only received a large drink and got a small fry. The manager not only didn't care but was extremely rude to him in front of his daughters even though he was calmly trying to make his exploration. They did give him his money back however it would have been simpler to correct the order and make a happy customer. I will never go there again and recommend others do the same. read more

I have never had such rudeness from the manager at a fast food place as I did tonight. And that's saying a lot. Because I used to be a manager at a fast food place so I know what can be done and what can't be done. They forgot one of my burgers that I had gotten to go I came back and told them they forgot it he told me he could not help me without a receipt and told me I had to go all the way home and get it and come back for him to replace my burger. Then when I brought it back and showed him the receipt he never looked at it was rude and snarky to me never apologized for the inconvenience of me having to go get the receipt never apologize for missing put in the burger in in the first place never apologize for my time. Put the burger in the bag and threw it on the counter and said there you go and never made eye contact with me or looked at me again. I was so mad that if I open my mouth I was going to go to jail. Everybody else to work there was nice and polite it was only the manager and he wasn't even that busy. I am so glad that I am moving out of state because I've never come here again. Ive been the biggest supporter of Bakers Drive through since they opened however Im really bothered that recently when I have gone in- usually the morning to early afternoon times-there is a Manager - Hispanic lady wearing a light blue shirt and glasses -who finds it necessary to yell at her staff where customers are within earshot. This has happened on at least three different occasions when I've been in. First of all it's unprofessional as a manager to yell at anyone as these people are not part of your dysfunctional family - they are workers and it's very evident yelling makes her feel more important than the moral of her staff or the paying customers experience I wont be returning anytime soon and will also be submitting my concerns to a corporate office. read more

I love Baker's. I eat there all the time. I stopped by the Baker's at 18950 Van Buren and was sorely disappointed by their service. I had a group of friends coming over and bought $30 worth of burritos and other stuff to feed them. I had my son count the burritos as we left the drive thru and we were one short so I went back and got it. When we got home we found that whoever made the burritos treated it as some kind of joke. They were basically a tortilla with cheese and about a tablespoon of beans. They each weighed less than half of what they should weigh. I called and spoke to the manager, Carlos, and explained my problem. He insisted that they had a scoop to measure the beans to make each burrito the same size. I told him that they were made wrong and that they had basically no beans in them. He then reiterated that they are all made the same way with a measure and that they had been made right. He offered no compensation for the rip off that had been perpetrated on me. When I went into the store to get the burrito that had been left out of my order I noticed that there were no adults working there, all teenagers. They need adult supervision. The Baker's in Riverside on Indiana is great. The Baker's in Riverside on Adams is great. The Baker's in Riverside at 18950 Van Buren at Wood road sucks, and the manager was not able to recompense their very poor effort in an appropriate manner. Love the food that Bakers offer, usually. However, at this specific location there is an odd smell outside when you walk up to the front door. It's kind of bad, and will make you loose your appitite. Everytime I go there, I smell it (sewer type smell). I hope the Owner/Manager realizes the same thing, and will make the effort to fix or change what is causing it. read more

Came here for the tacos, both taco shells were super stale. Had to wash it down with my warm powerade. Went to get a refill on my drink. She said it was 25 cents. Told her I was unhappy with quality of food and all I had was a card, did not want to ring up 25 cents on my card. She didn't really care, so I'm leaving a review about it.
