The best homemade candies you could ever find. I don't know where they retail them any more, but when I bought them, the raspberry sticks, maple, vanilla and orange creams were like heaven. I remember being able to smell the mint patties when they were making them, and on Easter--you could not find better homemade eggs and bunnies and geese, or what have you. It's a reduced price, not wholesale, place for chefs, cooks and restaurant owners to pick up bulk supplies for reasonable prices. They're not going to get any lower than this especially if you order through the mail. Today I picked up a case of monster energy drinks which is 24 for $38 and now I don't have to pay the ridiculous price of 3.79 each. There are supplies even for barista stands things like cups and stirrers and coffee syrups and coffee beans and the like. A good supply of essential professional cooking cookware like inserts, whips and utensils and some really good knives. For the bar there are dozens of different Frozen appetizers that patrons love like deep fried shrimp, chicken strips, zucchini, even pickles breaded, onion rings and other things like burritos, chicken strips and the like. They have a whole walk-in dairy refrigerator it's bigger than my bedroom which is quite nice when you need a lot of supplies and don't like the crowns of the supermarkets. No you do not need to be a member or have a special sign or club membership to shop here and no there is no fee for that it's just like a regular supermarket only with a different kind of display setup. In fact there is no display setup. They just open the containers for you to see what you're getting and then you can buy brand new containers of what you like. In some instances they will break a case like cleaning supplies, pinesol and other things too. Sometimes it's fun just to come out here because you never know what you see that will surprise you. Location could be better, it's off the beaten path past 130th Street North and Stone avenue North off to the east side kind of tucked away there. By the way, I still call it cash and carry because it has a nice ring to it.

Convenient location in North Seattle, ample parking, no membership needed, and prices often lower than local grocery stores and Costco. Most people who shop here are office, food service, restaurant, cafe, and catering staff. But the general public can also score great stuff in bulk, larger quantities. Perfect for those big gatherings. I've stopped in for kitchen gear, picnic supplies, spices, condiments, baking ingredients, and dairy products. Convenience and savings without the crazy crowds.

So I decided to give a restaurant supply shop a shot. $6 later I had 12 absolutely solid restaurant quality steak knives in my possession. My utensil drawer overfloweth. There was no smaller quantity available, but beggars can't be choosers I suppose. The bottom line is that I can now cook and serve steak for 12 PEOPLE without having to wash a single utensil. Except forks. I think I need more forks now... but the good news is that I know a place!

I would buy Instant Chai packets and too often I would be disappointed after one sip and honest to god I would just toss away the whole box as it's not worth it but Jaipur Avenue changed that perception. Based out of Seattle, their tea is sourced, prepared and packaged in India. But kid you not, I have tried most of their flavors and they all kick up a storm a good one indeed full of aromatic spices and just a tad bit sweet. Some of my favorite chai blends are Original Masala Chai which is packed with black tea extract, spice blend extract (ginger, black pepper, green cardamom, black cardamom, clove, mace, nutmeg, and cinnamon) and the other 2 blends are Ginger and Saffron. They have tons of other blends too, without sugar as well. I always keep 2-3 packets of Jaipur Avenue Masala/Saffron/Ginger at work and same at home. Just add hot water and boom you have instant gratification.

And after getting quotes to install ethernet in my 1980s circa home, one never wired for ethernet, one that just went through a significant renovation where I, in my supreme wisdom said "WiFi is great, now! Who need hardwires anymore?" was now faced with retrofitting several rooms and office with ethernet and said, this guy over here, the independent with a normal sounding company name, yeah - lets go with him! Mistake!! After schedule, and reschedule, and delays, and reschedule, we got nowhere with contractor number one. Meanwhile, Roberto and Peter at Those Tech Guys had patiently followed up several times, continued to be pleasant and professional, and AFTER I said no thank you I am going to go with someone else! So I made the dreaded call back - "So remember when I said if things change . . . " Peter was quick to jump on the phone, and walk me through things at every step. Gave me a highly competitive bid, and an install time of only a few days from when I called. They cam onsite, were clean courteous, and efficient. They played with my dog (I mean who doesn't love a bowling ball Staffy Bull Terrier mix?) and made light work of the install, and the final cost (with tip!) was even below the initial quote. This was made possible as Peter walked my home and together we found opportunities to do things more quickly, and save a few dollars along the way. In the end, I didn't choose Those Tech Guys first, but you should. No regrets here, other than I should have picked them first!

They are very responsive when trying to get your business, but as soon as you pay they disappear off the face of the earth. I have no idea what the status of my tax return is, nor whether the proper returns were even filed. One of the state tax departments reached out to me asking me to pay more and Dimov tax will not even confirm whether they filed that return, nor advise me on what should be done. The "administrative assistant" assigned to my case has not responded to my emails for a week, and when I try to call her it instantly gets sent to voicemail. I'm not sure what kind of people get 5-star treatment here, but it's certainly not everyone. In the past, we've also tried to schedule calls due to difficulty communicating and getting answers over emails, but the staff made it extremely difficult to do so, asked for what our questions were over email, and then gave non-answers to the questions and cancelled the meeting saying that the questions were already answered. I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt that it was peak tax season when we reached out and hence we had difficulty reaching them, but the pattern is very clear: when they want payment, they will respond; after payment is given, service drops to almost zero. I would highly advise you to stay away from this business.

Wow - thus far Lotus has been awesome. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product but have been extremely impressed with their service. I felt confident that after a short conversation with multiple staff, the film choice was the right one. I left them with my new luxury SUV, which already had privacy glass that they had to tint over. After the service was done, it was completed on time with extra care. I believe two to three individuals worked on the car, and it was absolutely flawless. When I got inside, it was hard to imagine it was the same car. A corneal disease impacts my ability to drive with lots of rain on the ground or at night. These folks were great about getting me the right film that took care of the car. The one additional thing that I would add is that after the install, there was a small bubble on one of the windows. It wouldn't go away after a couple of days, and I was concerned. When I returned, they assured me that within a week, with the hot temperatures and parking in the sun, it would go away, but scheduled a replacement appointment under warranty at no cost regardless. Just days before the appointment, I was happy to call them back and say that it cured perfectly. I couldn't recommend these guys more. They're absolute experts at what they do. The price is absolutely phenomenal, and they certainly have experience working on extremely high-end cars. Strongly recommend.

I went in there to replace a few pieces of my Homer Laughlin dinerware, you know, that nice heavy off-white china that a lot of restaurants use. I bought my original pieces at thrift stores in Philadelphia, then some more pieces in Raleigh, NC, at a restaurant supply store, and over the years, some of them had gotten broken and I no longer had a full set. With a dinner party of 7 people at my house on Friday night, I snapped about the mismatched dishes that I was going to have to put on my table. That led to the little journey from my downtown office to Dick's, conveniently located on 1st Ave just south of town. Anyway, one of the guys behind the counter sized me up, knew that I was new to the store (immediately) and not only asked me what I needed, but in a totally cheerful way took me right to it. And it turned out that in the back, he had half a pallet of one of the pieces I needed, and enough of the rest to piece my set back together. He teased me about only buying 6, saying he'd give me a better price on a couple of hundred... but where would I put them? :-) This store is not really meant for the home cook unless you're serious about it. You have to buy dishes ("smallware" in the trade) in units of 6 or 12, which might be more than you need or want. Still, their prices are really good, especially considering what it costs to ship the stuff if you buy it online! It's heavy, and fragile(ish), so shipping usually costs more per dish than the dish itself... but not so at Dick's. It's a good thing I was in a hurry or I would have been desperate to shop for aprons, knives, mixing bowls and maybe even a tocque (what a conceit!) LOL As it was, I paid my bill and left with a nicely-wrapped box of dinerware dishes. They do have everything, and if you are serious about cooking at home, you should check them out. They are way cheaper than Williams-Sonoma, Sur La Table, etc., and the stuff is meant to last forever and to take a lot of abuse. It won't be as pretty as La Creuset, but you'll get great service out of anything you buy at this store.
