I met Melissa for the first time today when she showed up to Volunteer at Children Of the Night. A program that helps (room/ board/ food/ educates/ therapy) for abused children or children sold into sex trafficking between the ages of 11 & 18. Hi- What a great experience!!! All the kids and parents enjoyed this event. Melissa came to our Mommie and Me Program in Burbank on February the 13th The event lasted around 45 min. We did a Valentines Cookie decorating event. We had around 45 kids attend We set up 5 tables . Each table had a napkin for each child and cookie placed on the table. She had all the candies in little containers and frosting set up at each table. She is very organized. She made this event very stress free for me and helped direct ALL the kids. The kids range from 1 1/2 to 5 years of age. She had all the kids form a line and handed each child a baby wipe before they went to the table. All the students/kids decorate one cookie each then ate them :) She entertained ALL kids and made this event fun and easy. We are hoping to do this event yearly. We had Melissa come to my daughter's 6th birthday, which is right after Christmas, and are so happy we did! Melissa made everything so easy for me, especially during such a hectic time of year. I live in Utah and saw Melissa with "Baking with Melissa" on the show "Supermarket Superstar" and felt she had a great idea and product! As a self-proclaimed connoisseur of both cookies AND cupcakes...I felt it was a super fun and creative idea to combine the two into a hybrid! Plus, the ultimate objective for Melissa on the show was to turn the concept of the cookie cupcake into a baking kit that can be enjoyed between parents and their children, or at parties for kids (or adults who happen to love cookie cupcake hybrids...). Suffice to say, after falling in love with the product idea, I sought Melissa out. Her website, bakingwithmelissa.com, details her services as a kids' party coordinator/entertainer where she does baking parties with children (adorable idea!), AND--most importantly for me--you can actually order cookie cupcakes and other delectable treats. While she delivers the fully-decorated product for free to many parts of Los Angeles, and a nominal fee for others, she ALSO does a "decorate your own" care package that can be sent outside of California to other parts of the U.S. YES! So, I got right on it and ordered a two dozen cookie cupcakes--specifically some chocolate chip (delicious!) and her signature dessert that appeared on "Supermarket Superstar" (oatmeal butterscotch--HOLY CRAP it's awesome!). Ordering was very easy and the price for the product was very reasonable. All I had to do was contact Melissa with my order and arrange the payment details. When the box came (2 days after my order), it included both varieties and a decorating bag of some of the BEST cream cheese frosting I think I've ever had. It was delicious! My decorated creations were, unfortunately, not as adorable as the ones I'm sure she'd be able to pull off in the LA-area (because *I* lack skill)...but it all tasted great still. Plus, whether you live in Utah, or Alaska, or Hawaii--I can just imagine the fun a parent would have with their kids to get these cookie cupcakes in the mail, decorate them, and then have no mess! It's all there and easy to clean up...because you didn't have to create the mess! Anyway, long story short (I am long winded and cannot say enough about the cookie cupcakes!)--I love Baking with Melissa's products. I think the whole idea is adorable, and the products themselves are delicious and reasonably priced. I cannot say enough great things about Melissa! She came to my daughter's 10th birthday party on Saturday for the Cupcake Challenge and the girls can't stop talking about how much fun it was! They made the cupcakes, played games and came up with team names while the cupcakes cooled, practiced frosting skills with various tips, then participated in the Cupcake Decorating Challenge, which had specific criteria per the birthday girl.
