Went to the Train depot on a Sunday afternoon. Wait wasn't long, about 15 minutes and the staff were extremely friendly. I ordered the Bill's omelete. I was was juicy and flavourful. The country potatoes were cooked perfectly and a little crisp, just the way I like them. Our server never let our drinks get low, loved the personal attention. I've heard of this spot since the old location on first and McKinley. I never really bothered with breakfast joints because I would think eggs and sausage are so easy to make. The service was fast, the outdoor sign in sheet is only when it's busy so peek in to check it out and just walk in when it's not crowded. We went after brunch so seats were open. Everything was decked out with train decor. My bf was craving some biscuits and gravy so he wanted it from there, it was my first time so I wanted to try as well. We share a breakfast combo which includes 2 eggs I chose overeasy, 2 meats either bacon sausage link or patty, country potatoes or hash browns, 2 biscuits and gravy and I added sour dough toast. The biscuit and gravy are definitely home made. The biscuits weren't perfect they were odd shaped like a dome and the gravy was smooth and creamy not too thick or clumpy. I love the decoration and the theme of this restaurant! You can see G scale train running along the walls with good collections of trains in the wall. Overall it's a very cute place to dine in. Ordered the Ham and eggs and my food was cold. The country potatoes were cooked perfectly. I like the way they were crispy on the outside yet soft on the inside. They were perfectly seasoned. The service here is always welcoming. I like the ambiance it's friendly hellos and lots of smiles from the staff which is always lovely. Our server Sergio was nice, professional and attentive. Someone was constantly looking to help and make sure we were taken care of whether it's to fill up your coffee or just an act of kindness I really liked that. The prices are pretty fair too. This seems to be a popular place with locals, and gets my endorsement as well. Discovered via Yelp on a road trip, I can say they likely offer what you are craving, on their menu. Staff are prompt with service and followed-up throughout our visit to make sure we were taken care of. The quaintness of the building was very welcoming, and the walls were adorned with old railroad photos and memorabilia. I had their fajita omelette, and my father had the Coal Miner's omelette. Both were fresh and full of flavor. We both opted for the biscuits and gravy, lin lieu of toast, and were very satisfied. I literally always go here when I'm craving a cinnamon role. Those things are huge, delicious, and affordable! We typically get them to-go, so I'm not sure what service is like, but considering they're always packed, they must be doing something right! There wasn't anything I liked about this place other than the trains around the top and the nice pictures. Very small rooms, crowded to the point where we couldn't even hear ourselves talk so we sat in silence the entire time we were there. The server messed up my order and brought me the wrong thing and I had to send it back. I ordered hot chocolate with whipped cream on the top and I didn't get any whipped cream. 2nd time dining here. I came here once 6 years ago for the first time with some construction coworkers.  I had a good time, I liked the "country friend steak" two egg dish I had at the time, and overall looking back I thought the experience was quite decent. However, I didn't realize I had reviewed this spot before, 6 years ago the first time, as a 3 with zero details.  I was quite surprised. So here is the 2nd time experience and the edited review (for Google). First off, we arrived at roughly 8:50 AM (10/20/2025) the ambience/atmosphere was good; the train decors were neat. We didn't officially turn our sign over to order and finished our order until roughly 9:12 AM. (The time is important for later). Second, I didn't remember the food being warm-cool the first time I was here 6 years ago, but the food we were served today was not hot and fresh... it was warm-cool, almost cold one might say. I really couldn't remember if it was always like this and I looked around the diner to see if others had steam coming off their plates as I ate from my dish. All of our dishes: the 1 order of two eggs (scrambled) with country fried steak and hash browns, 1 order of two eggs (scrambled) with pork chop and hash browns, even the biscuits & gravy and surprisingly easy the chili bowl were warm-cool. The food was still quite tasty, but they were in fact quite room temperature. We felt the need to eat as fast as we could before the food got too cold... so by the time we finished eating around 9:40 AM, then paid and walked out, it was 9:45 AM. We felt the need to finish our plates within 15-18 minutes sometime between ordering our food by 9:12 AM and waiting until it got here (possibly some 10 min later, which is fine) to 9:40 AM. However... last but not least, the service was great. The coffee and waters were refilled multiple times and we were checked in a few times.  I wish I had gotten the nice older female's name for the awesome service, and I reached out to share with her the matter of the dishes served warm-cool, asking her if this was normal. She was very apologetic and kind, and by no means was it her fault. We couldn't finish the chili bowl or the biscuits gravy since it was too cold to really eat. The missus ate what she could. I still and would like to establish that the meals were still quite tasty, it was just... not hot... and is why I checked with the nice older female waitress if this was normal here. We tipped for the awesome service. The missus was not as enthusiastic about returning to give the spot another shot since she wasn't too happy about the food being warm-cool. I honestly don't remember it feeling like a 3 restaurant; however, this is the only spot I know of where I could get 'country fried steak'... so I hope 3rd times the charm, and hopefully not 6 years later. read more

Really neat ambiance, taking you back to the yesteryear diner. Food was solid, got the fajita omelette with hash browns. Good flavors, not the most amazing, but I'm satisfied for sure. Waitress was on point, running it all by herself and still getting door dash orders out quickly. Only down side, didn't have change for $100 on a $40 tab so I had to pay the CC fee. Not too big of a deal, but if you prefer cash, have the cash on hand. I'd return again, it didn't hurt my stomach so that's a big plus. I haven't been here since I was a little girl, going out to breakfast with my dad on the weekends. It hasn't changed a bit! (In a good way) the service was still amazing and pricing isn't bad . My kids enjoyed the atmosphere and hopefully next time we can go on the weekend to see the train go around the room. We got chocolate chip pancakes (2) with whipped cream $12.40 and a side of sausage links $5 , my oldest and youngest split it and it was more than enough. We also got a kids breakfast "the end of the line" $9.95 and two eggs any old way $11.80 with hash browns and biscuits with gravy. On busy days give you a 90 minute time limit and if you are paying with a card it's 3.75% fee added to the bill but if you have cash I think they give that percentage as a discount. read more

Oldie but goodie. My son and I both love coming here, sharing this little gem fresno has to offer with friends and family who are local and from out of town. The food is always out of the park amazing. Customer service runs a million miles an hour and most do it with a smile on their face or a small joke to crack. This place is a bit small but that's what makes it feel so homey plus you get to enjoy the train running along the track that goes all around the top of the restaurant. This review is overdue by at least 7 months. I tried this place back in January with a couple of coworkers on lunch break. Coworkers raved about this place, so I was in to try. We stopped in at around 12 ish, place was full, we had to wait outside for the check-in waitress. Once she came out, she took our orders. She stated we had to wait outside as there was no room inside. We all paid individually. I ordered the California Burger combo with fries, no drink was included, my total was $21.45. At the time I thought it included a drink, but no. When it was brought out I was told it would be extra. I was not about to pay extra and wait for another long while, as we had to head back to work. Wait time was about 30 min, the waitress was kind enough to let us wait inside after about 10 min of all of us waiting outside as she said some people had left and now there was room. When I opened my container I was not readily impressed as the fries looked like frozen bag fries, the burger had the lettuce and tomatoes off to the side and packets of mayo and mustard inside. It honestly looked like I made it at home but not in a good way. Not going to return anytime soon as price was not worth the meal. read more
