Before I get into the details I want to mention they do give at least one free class to try it out. I highly recommend it. You can test it out. Take a water bottle (and towel) with you. :) Classes are typically 45 minutes with some being 60. The instructors are well-trained and incredibly kind. I also like that even if you go at the same time every day there could be a different instructor which keeps you feeling like you are doing something new. They each have their own style and part in the class that they like. The workouts are fairly well rounded with lots of stretching, isometric holds and pulses and even a slight cardio burst. You can modify anything any time which I like because those legs get to screaming at me! Typically at the end of class there is a relaxed breathing that helps you start the day off right. There was a change in hands about a year ago and while the other owners did a great job, I can see some great and positive changes happening. I also wanted to mention sometimes they have themed classes. The most recent were Wicked and the Life of a Showgirl. They had prizes and treats and had some fun decorations up.

To begin, if you don't know, this gym's members lean toward the affluent. You can see the evidence…read moreexamining the parked cars, the spectrum of services typically offered at a country club, and the what I call "the new shoe parade" (adults over 40 wearing the most trendy athletic shoes). Glaring discrepancies: - the men's bathroom stalls don't stay locked efficiently and have a peek-a-poo gap you can use both eyes to see through. They'll spend money on fake plants, yet won't fix what's needed (this applies to other issues as well) - so far this summer, the outside "hot tub" is either disgusting, jets don't work, flooded with kids under 12 (there's a rule against that), or it's closed off - when it's busy, you'd swear no one in the greater Tulsa area is going to any other gym at that moment - it's succumb to the "Premium" disease. Some things you can't do unless you pay more - and a general membership is already pricey - if you want to play pickleball - good luck. They change the schedule of when the courts are available for whatever types of players. If it's free play, you might end up waiting awhile before you play again. There's only 3 courts. That's all for now. I'm sure there's other issues. Those are just from my lens. Two stars simply because it has so many services. Think "Costco" of gyms. It's got a dystopian feel and it's up to you how much kool aid you want to drink.

There needed to be a place where mom's not only got a work out in and than left quickly after, feeling still disconnected, but where they could have comraderie, support from other moms, and have fun while getting awesome results. When we take ownership of our choices and our bodies we can make healthy changes to improve our lives which leads us to feeling good physically, mentally, and emotionally- that is when we radiate our Mom power and those around us benefit as well! Stroller Strength is a 60 minute full body workout combining cardio (power walking & or jogging) and strength training using resistance tubes and your body weight while having your child in the stroller with you. No need for childcare and no judgement when you have to tend to your baby. Aubrey will be there to help and we are all mom's who understand and no matter what you will get a great workout! Walk-n-Talk is an additional free bonus class for members of eMpower fitness. We will meet once every other week to walk or hike leisurely for 30 min, bringing your child is optional. This will include a nutrition topic and Aubrey will provide you with a healthy recipe to take home. We also have weekly playdates and mom's night outs

And they warn you that if you cancel before you've been a member, they will charge you another $25. BUT- THEY ALSO CHARGE YOU FOR AN EXTRA MONTH when you cancel. I joined in January. I cancelled today (June 25). That means I was a member for 6 months and was exempt from the $25 cancellation fee. Just minutes after I cancelled my membership on the app, my bank was charged another $14 for the month of July. Apparently it was in the fine print of the sign up documents that they would do this. Here is the email I received from their Customer Support: Hello Michelle, The terms on the membership are a 30 days' notice for cancellation. Anything owed up until the date of cancellation and any payments set to draft in the next 30 days are owed. We apologize that you were unaware of this policy as it is in the membership agreement signed at the start of each membership. We love having you apart of the VASA Fitness family and want to have you stick around! We wanted to offer a one month credit to your membership if you'd like to stay. Please let us know if you'd like to have the one month credit placed, or continue with cancelling your membership. If you are wanting to continue with the cancellation, please provide us with your reason for leaving VASA Fitness. Mckenna Member Services Representative JUST AVOID VASA.
