Bald Eagle Coffee is exactly what Cannon Beach has been missing for all these years. Dark, rich coffee, espresso bar and an excellent assortment of pastries. European-style cafe patio and window seating with an adjacent art gallery that adds a bit of ambiance. Also, great for a quick stop to grab a cup and snack. From the time we decided to spend the New Year in Cannon Beach, I kept hearing about this coffee shop that was near the community hall that my husband had found when he was in town for a Red Cross thing a few years ago. Knowing that he is very particular about his coffee, I knew that this coffee must be something pretty special. On New Year's Day we stopped here on our way to find a more substantial breakfast than just espresso house pastries. While the coffee itself is Starbuck's the latte that was created with the beans that I have so often tasted so much better than the latte's I have from the mother-ship. The coffee did not taste like the beans had been over roasted (as it often the case, at least at my local Starbuck's) and the milk was steamed to the perfect temperature...you know where you can actually sit and drink the coffee and not have to drive to work and sit through two meetings before it has cooled down enough to drink without putting a permanent scald on your tongue. It was a good thing that I wanted something other than pastry for breakfast, because by the time we got to the Bald Eagle, a little before 9 am on New Year's Day, the pastry case was pretty barren. By the time we left they were down to two chocolate chip pecan cookies. The place itself it pretty small. They had maybe five small tables and, when we left, a line out the door. As it was January, the outdoor seating area was really not going to be an option and I think a lot of people who had planned to come and start the day with a nice relaxing cup of coffee with a pastry and the newspaper were instead heading back to their various accommodations to drink their coffee and figuring out where to go get breakfast. read more

CREDIT CARDS ACCEPTED, YIPPEE! I'm still craving their Cheddar and Bacon Bagel. Toasted with tons of Cream Cheese. Hubby and I split one every morning and I always take the top half. More Yummy stuff on top. You have to get there EARLY to get one. Its popular and they sell out fast. I think its more popular than their enormous cinnamon rolls. We find it extremely entertaining to watch all the people line up out the door into the sidewalk ordering their 2 shot decaf, one shot caf short skinny lattes. One person works the espresso machine, so the wait can be kind of long. Straight fresh brewed coffee at the self serve station is the way to go. read more

I went here because I was in a hurry and needed coffee quick. The staff was nice but the coffee was sub par, with the milk overpowering the shots. Should have waited for monk coffee up the street to open at 8am; now I know why this place doesn't have a line to order coffee and the other place does! Came in for a morning latte and not only was the service pretty abysmal (older guy was much friendlier to the locals he knew and barely said 2 words to me) and the coffee I had was outright disgusting. I ordered a almond milk latte and it literally tasted like dirt.. that and an americano was almost $7; so I would definitely not be going back here.. on the positive side, there was some neat art in the place.. read more

An oasis of consistently hot coffee, served in the early morning. You can tell its good if you sit down to relax early in the morning because all of the locals come in for same. The barista, who appears to be the owner is extremely friendly and helpful as another review has mentioned. Oh, and there is free Wifi. If you were camping at, say, Wright's Camping down the road, this is a great place to stop in to check your mail, download the latest weather conditions or check yelp from your iPhone. read more

WINNER of the "open coffee shops on Wednesday in Cannon Beach" challenge. Technically, there were only two contenders, Bald Eagle and Bella ... but don't take points off for the lack of competition. Bald Eagle wins fair and square. We got a caramel cappuccino + a raspberry mocha cappuccino and enjoyed them both quite a bit. We also loved the marionberry scone and lemon poppyseed scone, both generously sized and perfectly baked. Service was quite friendly and we got that local vibe that we enjoy so much. Bald Eagle is definitely worthy of your cappuccino-on-the-coast cash, especially if you happen to be in town mid-week when it feels like everything else is closed. read more

Even mid-week, the last days of August find Cannon Beach chock full of us out-of-towners........and the line out the door at this coffee shop was no exception -- EXCEPT for the fact that the line moved so fast I had my coffee in my hand in minutes. We come here every day we visit Cannon Beach. Quick service friendly and homey. Not an abundance of seating but if stay and enjoy your coffee and bagel or scone. Bald Eagle seemed a bit lame when I visited: I was hoping for a great cup of coffee, but it was just mediocre. Out of "serve yourself" milk or cream, instead I asked for some steamed milk at the counter after waiting a while in line. Maybe the baked things are awesome, but the coffee was barely adequate at best. read more

I spent an entire summer as an intern at the attached gallery and I have tried just about every baked good, coffee drink, and soup that they have to offer! The soup du jour is fantastic. It's made in house everyday so it's guaranteed to be fresh, not to mention that it's probably the best value for lunch anywhere in town. The pastries are freshly baked each morning too and they rival the "dedicated bakery" that's in town. Besides the fantastic food, the customer service is HANDS DOWN the best in town. Tom and Laurie are always welcoming and wearing smiles on their faces no matter how long the line at their counter is. Laurie and Tom care for each customer as if the customer is one of their own family. That's old school customer service you can't find anywhere! Bottom line: Quality baked goods, soup, and coffee. I love this coffee house and the employees/owners who work here! When I first moved to Cannon Beach I was wary of going to this specific business because I noticed that the sign said they " We Proudly Brew Starbucks Coffee" which of course means they only serve coffee brewed from Starbucks' beans and at the time I was a little Starbucks stuck-up and only patronized locations that were official Starbucks franchises. When I finally went, I found myself falling in love with the place because of the sweetest lady who works there and who became one of my best friends, Lori and her husband. The coffee tastes nothing like something you would purchase at an actual Starbucks. It is good and it does not stop at coffee. Lori also makes her own soup, which rotates based on the day and is great by the way! There are also baked goods (croissants, scones, muffins, etc...) The coffee house shares a building with an art gallery, so you may also browse the pieces of art for purchase next door. Let me clarify what I mean by next door... The same door. Haha They share the same entrance. WiFi is offered here for nothing extra than what you purchased. There are a limited amount of about 6 very tight parking spaces available behind the building, but a large amount available parking is across Hemlock Street in the Public Parking lot. The employees/owners here are very knowledgeable with the region and town, so feel free to ask questions of any sort and get an local's insight. The owners and staff are very nice. They always have 2 delicious vegetarian soups on rotation and a variety of pastries. However, this is a no cell cafe. So even if you need to talk in a low tone (lower than you would in a conversation at a table), you will be asked to take the conversation outside. I had a rude customer at a neighboring table tell me to get off my phone (at the time I didn't know it was a no cell area), which I was basically whispering into. A great place for a quiet book, but feels too quiet to have a nice coffee with a friend. read more

Oh my! We weren't impressed with the coffee in our hotel room so, on our recent stay in Cannon Beach, we ventured out to find a little coffee shop and discovered Bald Eagle Coffee House just steps from our room. First the owner is wonderful - friendly and engaging! You can tell he loves what he does! The coffee was good, but the pastries that he bakes there are the real treat. The cinnamon scones are the best I've ever had. They're baked to perfection and full of flavor and spice. We liked them so much we stopped back on our way out of town the next morning and bought was was left of both the cinnamon and marionberry scones...his cinnamon rolls were wonderful, too! Bald Eagle Coffee House is a short walk from the main shopping area, but is totally worth it. Don't miss it next time you're looking for a treat in Cannon Beach. read more

Great little place with amazing service. Seriously, the owner couldn't be nicer. While we were there, one girl ordered soup. There wasn't enough for a whole cup, so the owner just gave it to her. Another woman noted the hot pot was running low on coffee, so the owner had her enjoy the coffee she'd poured while she was waiting and made a full-sized fresh cup to go. We shared the homemade creamy potato broccoli soup. Delicious and served with two small slices of tender homemade buttered bread. We had one of the carrot cake cupcakes-- big and bursting with shredded carrots and topped with a light and fluffy cream cheese icing and halved walnuts. They serve Starbucks coffee, Tazo and Stash tea and made sure to ask how many tea bags I wanted with my tea. Free WiFi and hooked to a cute gallery. Dog-friendly front porch. read more
