The kind that makes you start rearranging your budget and your life decisions at the same time. Of course, I did what any reasonable person does--I went and had a little chat with ChatGPT, plugging in numbers like I suddenly had a finance degree. Credit score, trade-in, price... the whole works. Meanwhile, a salesman named Kevin texts me, asks what I want, gets my payoff, and says he'll get back to me the next day. Well... "the next day" gave me plenty of time to panic. After thinking it over (and probably overthinking it just a little), we convinced ourselves, "Yeah... we probably can't afford that Crosstrek." So I text Kevin and basically say, "Never mind, false alarm, ignore my dreams." ONE HOUR later... Kevin calls. This man comes back with numbers. Real numbers. Good numbers. "Wait a second... those are our numbers." And then he drops the kicker--it's for the SAME blue Crosstrek I had my heart set on. Y'all... we bought the car. For a better deal than we ever expected. And Kevin? That man didn't just sell a car--he showed up, followed through, and treated us like we mattered. It didn't have one when I took it to them. When I took it back to them they wanted to upsell me $2000 engine tear down. Saying it had nothing to do with their work. Refused to do all the diagnostic testing required by Subaru manuals or check their workmanship. I had a meeting with the Service Manager and his foreman. Five minutes into the conversation the foreman started yelling, was very unprofessional and walked out of the room. I took it to another certified Subaru Tech. He found a clip from one of the 6 clips off the windshield wiper cowling (all 6 are still missing)inside the engine in cylinder 1 sitting on top of the valves. If it had fallen into the cylinder it could have destroyed my engine. It was what was causing the misfire. It cost me $1300 to fix their screw up. These people are irresponsible, incompetent, unprofessional and do not stand behind their workmanship warranty. I wonder what else they have dropped inside engines? They will never see my Subaru again. I am concerned they will do a lot more damage to it if I did. Something that will cost me a lot more than $1300 to fix. Even with the evidence including pictures they would not make it right. Don't trust your car with these people!!

Right before I left, I asked one last time, "I'm going to get a second key, right?" The response was simply, "Yeah, you'll get that in about a week in the mail." To make matters worse, the salesperson volunteered personal information about the previous owner, telling us they had cancer and implying that was the reason there wasn't a second key. I found that incredibly unprofessional and unnecessary. A customer's personal medical situation should never be casually shared during a vehicle sale. Fast forward three months. I've called over and over trying to get the promised key, and all I've gotten is excuse after excuse. Today, I was finally told there's a possibility I won't be getting a second key at all. I was also told that it was "never promised" and that I had supposedly been informed when I arrived that they didn't know whether I'd get one. That is simply not what happened. If I had been told from the beginning that there was no guarantee, I would have made my decision based on that information. Now I'm expected to pay out of my own pocket for a replacement key because the dealership refuses to provide the one I was repeatedly told I would receive. This experience has been nothing but frustration. Between the broken promises, the constant runaround, and the unprofessional sharing of what appeared to be someone else's private medical information, my confidence in this dealership is gone. We talked about the car, and he instilled a confidence in me that most used car dealers are never able. Why? Because he loves cars and he loves the people who love them as well. His cars are priced to compete with local dealers near and far and they're priced for him to gain little to just enough. There's no crazy mark up, and he's a no haggle kind of guy. Which I'm fine with... If you know what you want and you have done your research. Then you'll know the prices are right and that he prices his inventory to move. The experience was a good one and moved quick, but there are a few concessions you'll have to make. No fill up and wash, but I'm alright with it. It's something to note for those that weigh that but know the experience is superb. Friendship Auto deserves this highly rated review. Dan is about the details of the cars on his lot, it helps you to take notice, and notice you will. Keep an eye out because he always has something for everyone. Especially us petrol head types.

My salesperson, Allen, was polite, and the service department got my OEM tow hitch installed on time. To be clear, this review is not a ding on the sales representative, but it is clear that dealership management and corporate do not stand behind their product or respect their customers. From the start, the buying process was frustrating. I basically had to beg management to provide accurate numbers until about 24 hours before signing papers. To make matters worse, they even put a completely different VIN on the original buyer's order, leaving me to wonder if they were hoping I wouldn't notice so they could switch vehicles, or if they simply didn't care enough to get basic details right the first time. Upon taking delivery, I discovered the vehicle was loaded by Gulf States Toyota (exclusive distributor) with non-OEM, aftermarket accessories. This distributor covers all Toyota dealerships in Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. The body side moldings, running boards, passenger floor mats, and cargo mat are all third-party knockoffs rather than genuine Toyota factory parts, despite being listed directly on the window sticker right alongside factory options. They even tacked on a "mandatory" $75 fee for a cheap set of USB cords, yet failed to even provide the basic screws for the front license plate bracket. The car drives fine, but it's sickening to look at knowing how it was cheapened out. When I brought this up, management refused to remove or replace the aftermarket moldings, claiming a "risk of paint damage" for basic 3M tape removal. Instead of stepping up to replace the non-OEM accessories with authentic Toyota equipment, management placed the entire financial burden on me to fix it. I've ultimately decided it's not worth spending hundreds out of pocket at a collision shop to undo their choice, but the total lack of support was ridiculous. Toyota Corporate was equally unhelpful, hiding behind distributor policies instead of stepping in. To top it all off, instead of calling me to pick up my registration paperwork, they mailed it four hours away to my military home of record address. When I asked for help getting it shipped back, management completely refused to assist, forcing me to drive eight hours round-trip just to retrieve my own paperwork nearly a month after the sale. They willingly chose to lose a customer over games, distributor nonsense, and complete administrative laziness. This was my first Toyota, and because of this experience, it will easily be my last. What a shame. The attached photo shows the third party exterior moldings and running boards so other buyers of Toyotas within the Gulf States region may beware. OEM side moldings are attached at the bottom of the door. OEM running boards are all black.
